Sylvie
Chapter 15 – “Honey Do..”
Sighing lightly and tucking her knees up, Sylvie adjusted herself to get comfortable in Casey’s lap. “You know I was wrong about something.” Sylvie peered up at her partner, her eyes settled on half-moons. “Before I forget, thank you for the blood and…” She twisted one of her cornrows, “…for the braids.” She teased Casey and licked her lips.
“They are called cornrows, my blood-angel.” Casey moved her arms so that Sylvie’s head was cradled. “You are very welcome, I enjoyed doing it. Kept me from thinking about Amber too deeply.” Casey flipped her long strawberry hair over her right shoulder and locked her bright eyes on Sylvie’s. “What is it that you were wrong about, Miss Miakoda?” Upon seeing Sylvie’s deft tongue pop out, Casey smiled and giggled lightly. “Why should I trust that amazing tongue of yours? You locked up on me not two hours ago.” Casey raised one eyebrow. “I know from experience that I am irresistible, down there.” She tapped her big chest, “Up here as well..but..” Casey ran a finger across Sylvie’s bluish cheeks, “…You aren’t really interested in them.”
Squirming in Casey’s lap at the image of them having sex, Sylvie almost forgot what she wanted to say. “I do love you so sun-daisy.” Sylvie playfully winked. “You signed up for precog abilities when you said you loved me.” She took Casey’s finger and kissed it lightly on the tip. “All the same, I was wrong about the blood bunnies becoming wards. Amber is living proof.”
After letting out a pleasing breath, Casey curled her eyebrows for a moment, “I’m not sure why that matters to you? It seems a little odd detail to recall, Sylvie.”
“I like to be accurate with what I try to tell you, my lovely marine biologist.” Sylvie paused, “I said it for everyone to hear at some point, I think we were in the bar?” Sylvie laughed and suckled on Casey’s finger for a couple of seconds, “Mmm, I don’t suppose it matters at this point.” Pulling Casey’s wrist to her lips, she placed another row of kisses along the tender side. “Humm…for the record, plucky-love, I am interested in your breasts. I just know that too many have focused on them, instead of the lovely person you are and…god help me…your innocent beauty.” Lazily propping herself up, Sylvie kissed and nibbled on Casey’s neck. “All it took was one touch, Casey.”
Watching as Sylvie laid down once more, Casey grinned wide. “One touch and like a year for me to come around.” Casey finally registered what Sylvie said about her breasts, “Oh really? So, you are like everyone else!” Casey folded her arms and let out a playful huff. “So predictable. Tits, tits, tits..that’s all the world sees.”
Resuming the dainty kisses on Casey’s wrist, Sylvie felt the pang of hunger as her lover kept speaking. Sylvie reached for a bottle of blood and had started drinking when the joke Casey uttered hit her. Nearly spitting blood all over the floor, Sylvie sat up and gulped hard, coughing just after she did so. “Soooo…not fair.” She laughed and sat up on the bed, stretching out her legs. “I suppose I should tell you the entire vision. It is a big one and I am sure we will need lots of help.”
It took the better part of two hours for Sylvie to convey the full range of items that occurred within her latest vision. When she’d finished speaking, Sylvie noticed the red ring around Casey’s blending with the yellow and creating an orange. “Yeah, I know. It upsets me as well.”
“I want to punch Alan, more than once.” Casey shook her head defiantly, “Right in the crotch. Maybe then the fucker wouldn’t manipulate everyone around him.”
There was silence for a few seconds before both vampires said fairly loud, “Unbelievable bastard!” They looked at each other and got into a little word game, “Jinx…jinx…jinx…jinx..”
Content to let Casey have the win, Sylvie stopped and began laughing. “I think that proves we are of the same mind.” She over and twirled some of Casey’s light red hair around her finger. Still semi-giggling, Sylvie added, “When are you going to get a third eye?”
Reaching over and lightly grabbing the bottle of blood, Casey took a healthy sip in an attempt to calm herself. “Hopefully never. That’s all yours…” Casey winked, “My little moon-flower.” Once she’d gotten her latest pet name out, Casey got a serious look on her face, “I know we have to wait out the day, but the real question is…” She paused and pulled Sylvie back into her lap, so the two were hugging tightly. “...are we going to do the tasks on the list? I mean I know you promised Amos to get the ledger, so I am fine with that.” Casey lightly kissed Sylvie along the lines of her neck, “I kinda want to tell Alan to go fuck himself over the rest of the things.”
Shivering from light the touch of Casey’s cool lips, Sylvie managed to somehow gather her thoughts through the romantic moment. “Mmm, Yes…” Sylvie moaned lightly, “...I wouldn’t have had the vision if I weren’t supposed to be part of this, so I …” She lightly panted and felt her body getting warmer under Casey’s wanting lips. “...I… ohhh by the spirits….mmmm…” Sylvie tilted her head and exposed her neck to Casey. “...th-think…”
Licking her way up to Sylvie’s ear and nibbling lightly, Casey whispered, “Can you think darling?” Casey purred lightly so Sylvie could almost feel the contentment. “I’m not being fair I know…”
Gulping hard then leaning back into Casey’s swirling tongue as it traced down her shoulders, Sylvie gathered enough strength to do more than happily sigh, “...N-no, I can’t really think…but, but…I do wa-want to get Franco’s skull, the man deserves to be put to rest correctly..n-not to be some display in a museum.” Hands shaking furiously, Sylvie somehow clutched the bottle of blood and drained it completely. “K-K-Kody…um..um..”
Whispering with a hint of a giggle, Casey teased. “Yes? Did you want to say something my quiver-bunny?”
Feeling the empty bottle slip from her hands, Sylvie took in a passionate and deep breath. “I-I really want to say something, but I am mostly helpless to those lips…” Sylvie had an errant thought, “Along with those huge boobs of yours, pressed into my back.”
Resuming her kisses, Casey lightly snorted. “I’m not convinced, Sylvie. You are too tame right now.” She waited a second between kisses. “So, we are still going on the adventure?”
Slipping free and turning so she faced her newborn vampire, Sylvie nodded. “We finish the adventure. I think there is something to the white beast. I just don’t know what.” Sylvie raised one long eyebrow, “Now then, my strawberry-muffin…you have tortured me enough.”
“What do you mean I have tortured….” Casey started to rebut
Sylvie shook her head and got a somewhat stern look on her face. “Now is a good time to see exactly what I can do, Casey.” Sylvie smiled, “Shh..now…say nothing.”
“What does that…” Casey felt a clamp come through her mind and made her stop talking.
Sylvie asserting her control over her new vampire, She uttered the next command. “Now then, don’t move a muscle. Sit there like a good Barbie doll.” Sylvie smiled and pulled free of Casey’s warm arms, then sat on her knees. “Now that it’s settled that we do the list, I am going to address the little word you keep using with me.” Sylvie placed both of Casey’s hands on her breasts. “Squeeze your nipples just enough to please yourself.” She waited until Casey’s fingers responded to her command. “Do you know what that word was, lovebean?” Sylvie waited for a few seconds with a devilish grin on her face. “Speak.”
Finally able to open her mouth and have control over her lips and tongue, Casey let out a hard breath and smiled. “I can only guess the word I kept using is … torture.”
“Correct.” Sylvie waited for Casey to open her mouth again, “Silence, say nothing and keep your lovely mouth shut.” Sylvie scooted on her knees to get within a breath of Casey’s nose. “Unlike when you were human, and had some control over what sex play you had…you have zero here.” She breathed her blood-laden breath across Casey’s nose. “Breathe it in, my dear..feel the desire for blood that you can’t have.”
Compelled to do as she was told, Casey took in a deep breath and nothing else. Combined with the pinching on her nipples, Casey’s body internally raged with desire for sex and her lover's blood…all she could think about was tasting and sharing their blood as it spread over their tongues. Wrapped in both Sylvie’s commands and her own lustful need, Casey desperately searched her mind for a song that could help her.
-Don’t go blank on me now, Rivers. So many songs…so many…-
Casey felt the music enter her body and knew it was the right song. Paralyzer by Finger Eleven.
“Well, I am imagining a dark lit place,
Or your place or my place,
Well, I'm not paralyzed, but I seem to be struck by you…
I wanna make you move because you're standin' still,
If your body matches what your eyes can do,
You'll probably move right through me on my way to you…”
Radiating the heavenly light from her eyes, Sylvie could tell that Casey was truly excited about the current events. “If I know my sweet-baby-cake, you are singing a song in your head right now.” Sylvie ordered Casey to sing the song and once it was over, the elder vampire smiled. “Fitting tune, I approve.” Sylvie crawled around to Casey’s back and uttered her newest commands. “Listen closely, my paramour.” She waited a couple of seconds before continuing, “The first and last word from your luscious lips will be Chatelaine. Do you understand, Paramour?” Sylvie knew that Casey wanted to answer badly, but made her submissive new vampire wait. “You may now answer.”
Free to answer, Casey nearly screamed the answer, “Chatelaine, yes, I understand and obey..Chatelaine.” Casey’s lip quivered for a couple of seconds, “Chatelaine, your Paramour wishes for some blood..as she is getting ravenous, Chatelaine.”
Unwilling to let Casey move, Sylvie hopped down and gathered the last bottle of blood. “Very well, Paramour. Blood is necessary for us, but since I am enjoying how you are handling your nipples…I don’t want you to move.” Sylvie popped the cork out of the bottle and grinned, “In fact, I want you to squeeze just a little harder, until you moan in absolute bliss.”
“Chatelaine, Your Paramoure will do as commanded, Chatelaine.” Casey then tore away her blouse and reapplied pressure to her reddening buds. Casey kept up the pressure until little streams of blood trickled down her huge chest. “Chatelaine…mmm, yes…ohh…soo…g…great my Chatelaine.”
Carefully tipping the bottle to Casey’s lips, Sylvie nodded and sighed. “My lovely Paramour, how I love you. Feed, my darling.” Listening to Casey drink the viscous fluid, Sylvie felt a slight pang of guilt for the entire scenario. She waited until half the bottle had been consumed before placing the cork back and faced Casey. “My lovely Paramour. You bleed for me, darling.” Sylvie swirled her tongue and gathered up the blood that was slowly flowing from Casey’s pinched, rose-like points. “Yummy, thank you my Paramour..your blood is divine to me.” Sylvie suckled on the taut peak then gently pierced Casey’s beautifully formed breasts, drawing blood from her lover for a few seconds before licking the wounds closed.
“Chatelaine…oh…make me yours, Chatelaine…” Casey quietly begged while unable to move. “Chatelaine, my body is turning into a river of orgasmic lava…Chatelaine.”
Sylvie tore away the jeans that hid Casey’s pussy from view. “Paramour, you did in fact say torture a few times. Which is more torturous…your exposed and glistening core, or my lips kissing and licking you clean?”
Unable to really articulate her response because of her burning body, Casey babbled a few words. “Chatelaine…I– Your Paramour…um…pearly heavens…Chatelaine…everything you do for me issssss….so lo-loving and care-fff-ull..Chatelaine.” Casey tried to move and found herself still unable to. “Chatelaine, Mmm-my hands just want to crawl all over my bbb-ody, Chatelaine.”
Slipping out of her clothes, Sylvie swaggered on the bed in front of her lover. “Torture is subjective, isn’t it pretty-Paramour? I have yet to show you sexual torture.” Sylvie giggled and slinked behind Casey and began whispering in her ear again. “Time to show you how much control I have over you, voodoo-barbie.”
“Chatelaine, yes...Whatever you desire from me, Chatelaine.” Casey rasped.
Sylvie sucked Casey’s earlobe between her fangs, pressing lightly. “You feel that little loving sting, Paramour?”
“Chatelaine, I do..Chatelaine.” Casey huffed desperately.
Sylvie slid her arms around Casey’s waist. “This is to let you know I am here, and reassure you if necessary.” Hearing Casey moan happily told Sylvie all she needed to. “Good. You are to put your arms to your side and not move again, Until I give the command. Since I am a merciful Chatelaine, and cherish my lovely red-headed Paramour, I will allow you to speak and express yourself as we move through this little lesson.”
“Chatelaine, thank you love-bug, Chatelaine.” Casey snickered and nibbled on her lips since she found she could. “Chatelaine, your Paramour should tell you that I can bite my lips, it must be a caveat to not moving and being able to speak, Chatelaine.”
-I didn’t tell her to be honest with me, that was all Casey.-
Sylvie shivered lightly with the trusting thought her partner just gave her. “Thank you, Paramour. The commands are adaptive, and will do what is necessary to complete an order.” Sylvie kissed Casey’s neck and ordered her to relax in her arms. “Very good. Now are you ready?”
“Chatelaine, I am, Chatelaine.” Casey expressed excitedly. Without warning, Casey felt a slight tingle in her big toe, followed by the command of what was occurring.
Sylvie whispered her wishes, “You will feel a little tingle in your big toes, as if my fangs were pressing hard enough to sting, but not pierce your precious skin…let the feeling consume you, Paramour.”
Both of her big toes then started throbbing and sending little sparks of desire through Casey’s non-moving legs. “Chat-Chatelaine…god..dddamnnn…Oh…sweetness….mmmore, Chatelaine.” Casey’s body screamed to her mind the need to move and shake to release the energy built up from that one little command alone.
-What will she do next…god damn my pussy aches, what have you gotten into Rivers?-
Running her fingers through Casey’s soft hair, Sylvie twirled the strawberry locks gently. “You are doing so great, Paramour.” Sylvie turned Casey’s head so she could give her lover a gentle kiss. “Now then, feel my fangs scrape up the length of your legs and that same light sting in your inner thighs, all the while the feeling spreads across all ten of your toes.”
-Holy FUCK! I-I can’t th-ink…this feels god god damned great…tell her…tell her, Rivers…don’t just hold this in.-
“Chatelaine…sssss-ince you… Lord have mercy…I-I love you…my body aches to move…ppplease..Chatelaine.” Casey sputtered and drooled a mix of saliva and blood down her chin.
Sylvie heard the desperation in Casey’s voice, “Yes, Paramour. You are all mine to do with what I want and command.” She paused. “Right now, you will feel a little spark that is crawling from your toes, though the pressure points in your thighs and doing little loops around your clit..never touching. Only building. The only thing touching you is my commands.”
Heat poured from Casey’s body almost like she was going to burst into a living sun. “Chat-Chatelaine…Yes, hot-dove…make mmmm-my body burn, Ch-Chatelaine.”
Sylvie pulled Casey’s hair a little harder than she’d done before, making Casey’s jerk upright. “That spark, that feeling, that tingle, my fangs….mmhmmm…little energetic shocks around your cunny..” Sylvie kissed Casey’s cheek. “My sex spark is clawing its way up and down your spine, like climbing an intense mountain.” Sylvie purred devilishly, “You start breathing harder and harder…your muscles aching for some relief..”
Right on command, Casey started breathing heavily and it matched the burn in her muscles. “Chatelaine…ggenerous…Chatelaine..” Casey felt a wave of sexual pleasure from the claw-like spark and reflectively gasped. “Ch-Chatelaine…I-I’m trying for you love-button..Chatelaine..”
“Don’t try, my sex-peach. Paramour…Your body can move only enough to feel what is going to happen next.” Sylvie felt Casey shiver once and decided to allow her lover to experience the full range of pleasure. “...My fangs nibbling your wet womanhood, pressure building…your whole body yearning to let the orgasmic wave take you.” Sylvie paused and slowly finished her command. “N…Now…my paramour. Your body is free..your orgasms..yes, darling…many of them.”
-Fuck..fuck…fuck…what is she do..-
Casey managed to eke out the thought before her body did as was ordered and began convulsing starting at her stomach and moving to her thighs and finally settling within her plump pussy. Casey’s erotic release sent waves of spasms throughout her body. Happy to use her lover’s dominant name, Casey didn’t have any choice and stammer-spoke as the orgasms hit her full force. “Chatelaine…sweet Chatelaine..” Casey quivered and jolted as her body was overcome, “...Chatelaine…yes, yes…fuck yes…all for you my darling Chatelaine…yours…t-t-ttake everything, Chatelaine.” Casey felt her body let go of a rivulet of her essence, that coated her thighs and cooled her heated skin. When her body hit the sixth orgasm, Casey helplessly crushed herself against Sylvie, “Chatelaine…I…I wanna sing something for you to-um..I can’t think of anything but this bliss and a little R&B song, Differences…by um..um…” Casey spasmed again and more of her lovely lady cum drained from her. “...Ginuwine..If you let me Chatelaine..”
Sylvie caught her twitching lover and massaged her shoulders. “Of course, Casey. All commands are revoked. Enjoy and express yourself my little honeysuckle.”
Feeling the clamp over her mind release, Casey started giggling and curled into a cuddle ball within Sylvie’s lap. “Here goes, Taini…”
…My whole life has changed,
Since you came in,
I knew back then,
You were that special one,
I'm so in love,
So deep in love,
You make my life complete.
You are so sweet,
No one competes,
Glad you came into my life,
You blind me with your love,
with you I have no sight..
Girl you open me I'm wide open,
And I'm doing things I never do,
But I feel so good, I feel so good.
Why it take so long for me finding you…
“Amazing, Casey..truly a gift for music.” Sylvie reached for a brush and began getting the knots out of her partner’s hair. “It took a little bit, but we are together.” Sylvie leaned down and planted a heavy kiss on Casey’s lips, taking a few minutes to enjoy the silky softness and the gentle tangling of their tongues. “Mmhmm…Casey, let me say this..” Sylvie kissed her partner's forehead and smiled, “I will do my best to not lock up again.” Sylvie winked.
Expecting something serious to flow from her lover, Casey began laughing when the silly expression came out. “My word, you are a little joker aren’t you?”
It was as though the two awoke at the same time. Sylvie stretched first and ran her hands over the cornrows Casey had given her while in the trance. “What I wouldn’t do for a mirror to see what these look like, cuddle-cake.” Sylvie’s eyes shifted to Cheshire cat moons and she rolled almost on top of Casey, giving her a little kiss. “Wake up, silly. It’s not like you are sleeping anyway.” She giggled.
“Honey…dew…you can do that again.” Casey followed suit and stretched and let out a happy groan. “I still smell us all over the place…You did well…Mmhmm.” Casey wrapped her arms around Sylvie when she got close. “I think you look marvelous with cornrows, I did a fantastic job and you look irresistible.”
Sylvie leaned up and draped some of her braids over Casey’s cheeks, “I am happy with them as long as you like them.” Sylvie glanced at the clock and realized they’d been comatose most of the day. “Sundown in a few minutes.” She gently captured Casey’s nipple in her fingers, tugging gently. “Mmm, You should get dressed, you might give the guys at the bar a heart attack if you show up like this.” Sylvie winked and laid her head down on Casey’s chest.
“Speak for yourself..” Casey barely whispered, “You are the reason I am naked right now. I do believe that my over anxious sugar-bear left me unclothed.” Casey murmured something incoherent and began gently running her fingernails along Sylvie’s exposed back. “I have no real desire to move, if that makes sense.” She hesitated, “I mean I think I could go forever in your arms…Let’s forget the whole place..get on that bike and go somewhere else.”
Closing her eyes and enjoying the light scratching, Sylvie sighed lightly. “Tempting sweet-tart, but you know these things will just keep coming out of that hole-portal-door thing unless someone stops it.” Sylvie reluctantly pulled out of Casey’s arms, “No one else has the knowledge we do about what Alan has done. Someone needs to speak up at the meeting.”
Watching as Sylvie opened her dresser and pulled out her undergarments, a simple tee and a set of jeans, Casey groaned and rolled off the opposite side of the bed. “I suppose you are right, Let me grab my clothes out of that other room…” She paused, “...Can I move my things in here?”
Tilting her head and giving Casey an odd look, Sylvie nodded while half-giggling. “I am surprised you didn’t move over here when we decided that we belonged together.” She pointed to the other room, “It’s not like you have a bunch of stuff anyway. You had a little pack when we went to your mother's house.”
“That is hitting below the belt.” Casey added before she quickly moved what clothes she had left into their bedroom. “I need Martin to get me some new stuff.”
Feeling that the sun was just below the horizon, Sylvie winked at her progeny. “Now it’s time to feed, are you ready, dew-drop?” Seeing Casey get finished dressing, Sylvie waited for her lover to nod. “There are people all over the park where Phantasmagoria used to be.” She wiggled her fingers as though she were walking, “It is along the way to the university where we should find that professor and the skull.”
“Charles Sheppard if my memory serves me.” Casey added and sniffed the air once more. “We are a little overzealous peach-pie. We need to shower so the world doesn’t know that we have been rolling in sex all day.”
Reluctantly, Sylvie reversed her path to the front door and headed to the bathroom. “Yeah, You have a point there. Shower, then we hunt, then we find the fuck’n skull.”
“Ahem, my line.” Casey walked into the bathroom with Sylvie.
Roughly an hour after they got into the shower, Sylvie had finally made her way to her motorcycle with a sheepish grin on her face. “You said shower. I didn’t know that was code for sex.” She laughed and turned the ignition. “I thought we were supposed to be getting the sex smell off of us.”
Raising one devilish eyebrow, Casey nodded to her lover, “We got the smell off. Nothing said we couldn’t add to it while we got clean.” Snuggly fitting one of the helmets to her head, Casey slid her arms around Sylvie’s waist. “So, straight to the university?”
Donning her protective gear, Sylvie nodded and drove out of the driveway and onto Brander’s Bridge road, taking the opposite route she was used to. “I figure that we go find the professor and charm the man into giving all of his research and the skull to us.”
“Sounds like you have it all planned out.” Casey quipped as she spotted a couple walking with headlamps walking out of a small nature park. Smelling their delicious blood, Casey felt the hunger rise like a tidal wave. She suddenly didn’t want to wait until they were in the neighboring city of Petersburg, so Casey quickly developed a plan and implemented it.
When Sylvie felt Casey’s arms slide away from her waist, She glanced back to see her partner standing on the seat and changing into her predatory bird form. “What the..” Sylvie spotted the two hikers and settled down. “...This should be interesting.” Watching as Casey jumped high into the air, Sylvie smiled as Casey shifted flawlessly. “Good girl…You go get them my blood-dove.” Swinging the bike into the parking lot of the park, Sylvie shut off the engine and waited.
A few minutes later, Casey came out of the woodline dragging the two people. “Charmed, so I figured I would share dinner.” She winked and looked down at one of the people. “Don’t worry, you are going home soon to eat. I am just helping you both to your car.”
Both of the people looked up with a glaze in their eyes and nodded. “Home, we are going home. Thanks for the help back there. We are very hungry…aren’t we?”
Once Casey gently pushed one of the people to Sylvie’s waiting arms, She let her fangs drop into place and with a swiftness punctured the man’s throat, drinking gingerly.
-Oh my, he’s not hungry for food.-
Casey thought to herself as she counted to ten and licked the wound closed. She pulled the helpless man into her arms and stared him in the face, before blowing her radiant breath right in his nose. “You won’t recall much of anything. You two will sit here for a couple minutes then leave for home.” Casey rolled her eyes and added, “You will be gentle and kind to her tonight, understood?”
Nodding in an almost drunken stupor, the man smiled. “Mmhhmm, I always am.”
Sliding the man to the backside of a tree, Casey wiped her mouth and waited for Sylvie to finish up. “That was a quick snack before the park. I saw them and couldn’t help myself.”
Closing the holes in the woman’s neck she’d been feeding from, Sylvie scooped the woman in her arms and placed her beside the man. “I am not upset, Casey.” She pointed to the seat on her bike, “The acrobatics were not really necessary, I would have stopped.”
“It was more fun that way.” Casey laughed, “I got to show off my lovely vampire skills, I have to impress my maker you know.”
Getting back on the motorcycle, Sylvie half-smiled and started the engine once more. “You have already impressed me, Casey. I have never seen a newborn adapt like you have.” Sylvie looked into the woods as she heard more voices. “You know, I bet it would be fun to gather up all the folks in the park, drag them out here and after feeding from all of them, make up a story. I mean imagine them coming out of the stupor and going, ‘Why are we in the gravel?’ - I think it would be hilarious.”
“You are cruel as you are gorgeous.” Casey kissed Sylvie on the neck. “I suppose you would fill them full of UFO sightings too?”
Sylvie kicked her bike into gear and once again headed for the border of their town. “Not the UFO type, more like I would leave ghost stories.” She giggled and paused, “You know I am winning.”
Holding Sylvie tight around her waist, Casey leaned on Sylvie’s back and asked, “Winning? Whatever are you talking about moon-muffin?”
“Damnit.” Sylvie responded. “We are gonna run out of combinations at some point.”
Casey squeezed Sylvie’s waist, “We have an eternity to think of more, so I am not overly concerned about it, peach-puppy.”
“Damnit!” Sylvie exclaimed a second time in thirty seconds. “How can I compete with that speed? My wonderful sugar-snookums.”
Casey rubbed her lover's back and laughed lightly as they sped down the road. It was only after Casey spotted a myriad of red and blue lights, mixed with flashing orange ones that she said anything. “Sylvie, I am sure you see that mess down there.”
“Yeah, I do. Now I wish we’d looked at the news before we left.” She cleared her throat and focused on the contacts in her eyes. “Code are you online?” She sensed the tech come to life and the green bars circled in her vision for a few seconds.
“Querry?” The little AI chip asked.
Pulling over to the side of the bridge overlooking the mess of overturned trucks and police tape, Sylvie answered her little computer. “We are crossing the Saint Christopher’s intercity bridge and there are lots of police and fire trucks present, can you tell us what is going on?”
“Working.” Scanning all for all sources, a few seconds later Code answered. “..Associated press release yesterday, combined with twenty-four coverage from broadcast stations…” It paused, “...No less than seven overturned trucks with court records were found yesterday morning. Rescue workers saved two people of the twelve in the vehicles. Further news indicates there are two more victims of ‘The Cross Killer’. One is identified as Charles Sheppard, a tenured professor at Tri-city Community University. Listed missing over two days prior. Stop. Associated press release, Second victim of ‘The Cross Killer’ named Noah Osborn, Clerk of Court for the city of Petersburg. Stop.” Code went silent for a few seconds. “Would you like to know the means of their deaths?”
Unbuckling her helmet and hanging it on her handlebars, Sylvie sighed and answered Code. “No thank you. You did well, we thank you.” She turned to Casey. “What a mess. I hope Alan isn’t blaming this on me, I wasn’t anywhere close to this mess.” She rubbed her temples, “With the professor dead, we are going to have a hell of a time getting the skull and the notes the man took.”
“We won’t know unless we keep moving forward.” Casey added in a concerned voice, “With him dead, the trick will be avoiding the police who might be looking over what he worked on.”
Sylvie hung her head low, “Which also means the police will find the skull. That is a ton of exposure.” She paused, “I don’t think we could purge all those people, it would become national news in minutes.” She laughed, “They are bitching about a few breaks in the veil, that would certainly raise more eyebrows than either of us want.”
Casey pulled off her helm and shook out her hair. “Are you telling me we could actually kill all the officers on site, without them radioing for backup?” She laughed, “I have heard lots of stories, but that takes the cake. A radio is like talk and go. We’d have the force on the road in seconds. I doubt we could purge them like you say.”
Sylvie opened her full moon eyes wide, “I am not in the mood to prove it, but it can be done. You’d have to turn them all to ash to do it. No one could survive. It would be as mysterious as the missing colony of North Carolina. All the cars, just flashing lights and no one to be found.” Sylvie clasped her hands under her nose, “There wouldn’t be that many on campus, the professor is the victim and it would be routine to look over his things. So twenty-five at most? Mostly forensic gathering.” Sylvie pulled Casey tightly to her. “We can do amazing yet horrible things at the same time, Casey.”
Casey closed her eyes and laid her head on Sylvie’s shoulder. “It’s just hard to believe, but I guess after being on the brunt end of Brian’s magic, anything is possible.”
“Miss Miakoda…” Code spoke softly, “...There is another fact that might interest you, should you be interested.”
Grumbling softly, Casey backed away so Sylvie could focus on the little machine attached to her eyes. “Sure Cody, tell me. I am just pondering what to do about the skull I need to find.”
“Sending query for Franco Tarsey’s skull.” It paused, “Meanwhile, the fact to present is that Special Agent Elle Miller eliminated ‘The Cross Killer’ yesterday afternoon. The officers down there are still performing all of the criminology gathering.”
Watching the green lights circle in her vision, Sylvie waited for Code to complete its task. “Having a tough time with the skull, Code?”
“Negative, just tracking its checkpoints from the university. Police have his skull tagged as evidence number T-93471-PF-75-A.” Code paused, “Taken to a guarded warehouse facility placed in box, WD-6301-K.” Quickly pulling up the map of the area containing the warehouses, Code plotted the most undetectable means inside the facility. “This accounts for guard patrols and checkpoint call-ins.”
Rubbing her chin lightly, Sylvie pondered what she’d just learned. “Agent Miller could become a problem, since she has eyes on you, Casey.”
Casey leaned on the concrete railing overlooking the scene below her. “Not to mention she’s a hero now. Lovely.” She looked at Sylvie, “Possibly erase her memory?” Casey paused for a brief moment and got a look on her face that appeared like confusion. “I really want to know how she found the killer after a few days.” She nibbled on her lip, “I mean she was after me just before you turned me. It’s the whole reason I am here in the first place, Sylvie.”
“Very good question, peanut butter-cup.” Sylvie again looked down at the scene below her, “Truth is, I don’t have a clue myself…I’ve been with you the entire time. It does sound fishy.” Sylvie grinned wide and put Casey’s helm back on her. “I have my own question, can you actually hear ‘Code’ talking to me? I thought it was internal because of blood.”
Casey blew her lover a kiss when she put the bike helmet back on her. “Always so protective.” Shrugging, Casey responded, “Maybe it is our connection? I know I can hear ‘Code’ is all…I’m not giving it much thought, love-cookie.”
Waving her hands and giggling, Sylvie shook her head. “We are getting off track. We get that skull first. I have a route map to the place where it’s being held.”
Jumping up and down excitedly, Casey hugged Sylvie tight. “I wannnnaaaa goooooo… this is gonna be funzies!” She started laughing and jumped on the back of the blue-gray motorcycle. “Slowpoke, let’s go.”
Watching as Casey ran over and gingerly got on her bike, Sylvie couldn’t help herself and laughed hard enough that a couple of thin drops of blood rolled down the corner of her eyes. “It’s telling that little things excite you, Casey.” Her eyes shifting to full moons, Sylvie picked her helm from the handlebars and put it on. Twisting slightly to look at Casey, Sylvie added, “Code has the route highlighted in my vision, This is so nifty. Remind me to tell Kody that these contacts are handy.”
It took a few minutes of traveling in the reverse direction back into Colonial Heights and to a small junction of the highway before Sylvie thought about exactly where ‘Code’ was leading them. “Show me the entire map, Code.”
“What’s up, Sylvie?” Casey inquired.
When the full map popped up on the HUD, Sylvie cursed lightly, “Damnit all to hell. Why didn’t I see this coming?” She tapped the tattoo of her third eye, “Useless…you work when I don’t want you to, but fail to tell me this…” She paused to answer Casey. “It would be my luck that the skull is being held on the base outside the city, Fort Gregg.”
“Is that the base you stole the blood from about a year ago?” Casey casually inquired before adding, “Why is it a problem, we are vampires. It’s not like they can keep us out. If not for the motorcycle we could just zip in or fly in.” Attempting to calm her girlfriend, Casey squeezed and massaged Sylvie’s shoulders.
“Yep, it is where I got the uniform and the blood from.” Sylvie gunned the bike to over one hundred miles an hour, enjoying the rush the wind gave her. Grateful for Casey’s concern, Sylvie let out a little purr, “You’re right, we could just go in there and wreck the place.” She paused, “That wouldn’t be the best way to keep the veil intact. Remember we are already fixing the supposed mess that occurred back then.”
Casey snickered, “You sound like Alan. Didn’t you say earlier this was all his fault?”
Swerving the bike through the traffic with ease and seeing the exit ramp a half-mile ahead of them, Sylvie leaned the motorcycle and sped down the ramp and barely stopped at the yield sign where the road and highway connected. “Yeah, I said that.” Sylvie confirmed, “The skull is a different point. That happened because of the ‘Ripped’ attacking us. How the hell his skull survived the holy water attack, I will never know.” Sylvie reached back and gently patted Casey’s hand, “Thanks to you, I wasn’t a casualty…” She swallowed hard, “...I don’t know how to thank you..to this day.”
“I was happy to do it.” Casey paused, “Besides, you returned the favor a few hours after. If not for you and your visions, Brian would have won…turned me into a puppet to him and Denise.”
Wanting desperately to change the subject, Sylvie pulled onto the new stretch of road and headed to the US Army base and thought to ask her tiny computer a new question. “Code, If my memory is right, there’s a campground close by. I want to say it’s part of the battleground called ‘The Crater’. Tents and lots of parking for tourists.”
“Indeed, the campground is three-fourths of a mile in the direction you are heading. Not gated, open to the public all hours.” Code affirmed and went quiet.
Forming a small hopeful plan in her head, Sylvie pulled into the dark campsite and shut off the engine. “The bike will be safe here for a little bit. Thankfully there are lots of people touring this time of year.” She pointed in the direction of the base, “We do exactly like you said, we fly in and get that skull.”
“I love shape changing.” Casey clapped and pulled off her helmet. “I suspect you have more to this plan? I am used to Vivienne and Faye planning out nearly every detail.”
Looking around at the open sky, Sylvie admitted to herself that she didn’t have a real plan. In the past, it was just her and the visions that guided her through her random actions. “It should be easy enough to land on the warehouse as a pair of birds, I suspect the guards won’t care.” Sliding off the bike, Sylvie began walking to the entrance of the park. “When a cool breeze passed over her face, triggering a thought. “Nice.”
“What?” Casey inquired and looked puzzled at her lover. “You were just saying birds?”
Comforted by the fact that she got a little help from her third eye, Sylvie smiled and winked at Casey. “The breeze did it, pear-drop.” Sylvie snickered, “You get to have a little fun. Because you are going to be so hungry when we get out of there.”
“What breeze…Oh. Gotcha.” Casey fluffed out her matted strawberry-blonde hair, “Little vision..you still promised to tell me, pretty-plum.”
Sylvie squatted down and plucked a stick from the ground and drew a crude square denoting the warehouse. “Okay, we fly up, and go ghostform then go into the venting.” She drew little squiggles in the dirt. “The ducts have to go all over the place, right?”
“I suppose.” Casey frowned and nervously bit her lip. “I am not sure how long I can be in that form, Sylvie. Isn’t it a very blood-intensive thing?” She patted her big chest, “About two days old. I might last ten seconds.”
Pondering the last few days, Sylvie shook her head. “You’ve been a different kind of vampire from the start. Nothing about you, other than your love for blood and durability is the same.” Sylvie tossed the stick into the woods. “I mean you don’t even have a beast. Just maybe this will work better for you.”
Nodding in agreement, Casey stretched and looked towards the base. “You’ve been right so far…” She grabbed Sylvie in a loving hug, “...You did make me this way, who am I to fight a soothsayer.” She winked. “What’s the plan after the ducts? I assume you know the location of said crate?” Casey laughed, “What are the odds that we could find Kody’s chip in there as well?”
“Not very good, if you are a betting woman.” A deep voice came from the woods and a set of power button eyes glowing green appeared a moment later. “I took care of the chip, Sylvie.” Kody stepped out and into the parking lot. “Humm, vampirism fits you, Miss Rivers.” They turned to Sylvie, “One less thing for you to worry about.”
Quickly hugging her friend, Sylvie stepped back and put her hands on her hips. “Where have you been? You flew off and we haven’t heard anything since.” She looked at Casey intent on conquering two things at one time. “Yes, I have the contacts showing me exactly where the box should be. We come out of ghostform, tag a couple of guards that aren’t in camera view and get the box.”
Kody raised one of their eyebrows while keeping their expression neutral. “You know, those can control the cameras. Just ask them to tap into the system and put the feed on a loop.” They frowned for a second, “Then again, you’d need a little more prep work for the contacts to be a hundred percent accurate.” Kody circled around to Sylvie’s first question. “I left, I went to Ohio to get some things worked out and..” They closed their eyes, shivering for a brief moment. “...to get The Raven out of my head. I only came back because Mister Alan Brown will not leave me alone. Insists that I have something to do with the quirky things going on here.”
Sylvie backed away from her cyberpunk-looking friend and smiled. “You are still working things out…with Lucy?” She winked and walked over to Casey. “I will tell you more later, dear-heart. Right now, we get to have a little fun just like you asked on the bridge and in the bar.”
Casey slipped her arm around Sylvie, “How did you find us, Kody?”
Rolling their white power button eyes, Kody simply pointed at their own eyes. “I can track every set I have ever made, just in case they fall into the wrong hands.” They paused, “Don’t worry about the chip, Sylvie. I have it safe and sound.” They paused, “I have an invitation to stay at the Swift Creek Mill until the council meeting is concluded.” Kody walked up to Casey and stared at her golden eyes, “Humm…you will need a form of heat resistant ones. I will have them ready for you by council time, alright Miss Casey?”
“I get to have cool contacts too?” She grabbed Kody and hugged him while jumping with excitement. “Soooo cool. Thank you sooooo much…” She danced with Kody for a few seconds until she could tell they were uncomfortable. “Sorry, Kody. I got a little overzealous. SO…much adventure..” She stuck her tongue out at Sylvie. “Mine will be newer.”
Kody, devoid of any real emotion simply added, “I have a software update for yours, Sylvie. Now that I know you both are together, I will link them. Bond by blood and technology.” They bowed once and waved, “See you tomorrow, Sylvie. Miss Casey.” They shape changed into their mechanical flight form and disappeared into the night.
“One less thing to worry about, Casey.” Sylvie raised one eyebrow, “A kiss for good luck?”
Casey licked her lips teasingly, “I thought you’d never ask.”
