Interactive Story: Masterful Magic
Choice 6
by The Traveling Master
A- Anna tries to find a better vantage point to be able to see the audience and Zelvida all at once.
I had gotten to know the stage area pretty well for a few of the magic tricks I was learning, so I knew that there was a hidden passage way that went from the stage to the back of the audience. I decided to follow it. From there at least, I may get a better idea of what was happening.
The music surprised me as well. It almost sounded like the type of music you'd expect to hear at a carnival. It was kind of freaky… Weren't there horror movies that started off like this? I shook my head as I made my way to my new vantage point.
I ended up at the back corner of the room and looked on. The room wasn't empty. Our boss was sitting near the back. In fact, he was just a few rows in front of me! I couldn't see him well though, mainly because he was sitting in one of the chairs and was looking at the show. His own private show…
I could see Zelvida clearly and she hadn't moved.
"Now my sweet and dearest Zelvida… Time to practice your little dance... Mind if we start?" he said.
I looked to Zelvida for her reaction, but she didn't show any sign she had even heard him. She just stood there, perfectly still.
"I thought you wouldn't mind…" he said as he chuckled.
Suddenly, her left arm started to move. It made its way slowly until it reached her side, then it lifted until her arm was horizontal. But her movements… They looked… Wrong… Awkward… Her right arm soon followed and she now had them both spread wide and level.
"And now for the legs…" he said.
Her left leg suddenly lifted straight up in front of her before circling to her left and going back down, making her side step to the left.
"This is always harder than it looks…" he commented to himself.
What were they doing?
"Hang on… Let me try this…" he said.
I looked on and she lifted her arms up way above her head. Then she moved to a better standing position and then her arms kind of fell back to her sides. She then turned a bout 90 degrees to her left and started to walk. But it was so awkward! Her arms went up and down, but they looked so rigid! Her elbows didn't bend at all and it made her look so weird! As if she was one of those old school robots you see in cheap movies.
Her legs were not much better. Her knees barely bended as she took her steps. She reached the end of the stage and did a 180.
"Ok… Now let’s try this then…" he said.
She started to walk, but it looked more like a prance. Her knees were bending way too much for the steps she was taking. They went up almost to her chest before going back down and taking a step. Her face never showed any expression.
What the hell was happening?
"Good good… Now for a change in inspiration…" he said.
The music suddenly changed and I recognized it immediately. It was the "I'm a little teapot" nursery rhyme! As I watched, Zelvida started to "dance" to the song and act out the words.
'I'm a little teapot'(She pointed to herself)
'Short and Stout'(She rounded her arms and touched her fingers in front of herself.)
'Here is my handle'(She placed her left hand on her hip as she bended a little toward the other side)
'Here is my spout'(She raise her right arm and made a spout looking shape by bending her elbow and wrist)
'When I get all steamed up, Hear me shout'(her head just nodded along with the song)
'Tip me over and pour me out!'(She bended to her right side, mimicking a teapot pouring)
It looked so wrong! She was half naked and dancing to a kid’s song! What the hell type of magic trick was this? I looked to our boss again and I could see he was moving his arms a lot, but I couldn't see what he was doing. Was I dreaming? It looked like his movements followed what Zelvida was doing on stage…
