A vampire finds a lovely young girl on a nice rainy summer night, and hypnotizes her before drinking her blood. Her very, very sweet blood…

Inspired by MagisterAthena's excellent story Vampire Mesmerism, although I took the idea in a slightly different direction. Also, I wrote this during a lovely rainy summer night of my own, which certainly inspired the vibe. And just like me, the vampiric hero of this tale certainly has nothing unexpected go wrong for her!

It was such a wonderful summer night for a walk. The air was dark, calm, and warm, the only sound other than her footsteps coming from the gentle drizzle of rain covering the streets. The clouds covered the moon and stars, leaving the dim streetlamps as the only points of light, illuminating the soft rain around them. It felt so relaxing, so romantic... Even mystical, in a way... Lady Wilhelmina almost forgot why she was out walking, letting the gentle rain wash away her thoughts for a moment, basking in the elegant stillness... Enjoying this wonderful night...

But the quiet sound of footsteps in the distance reminded her of what she was outside for. Not many people other than her were outside on nights like these... Making the few who were all the more perfect... She grinned, her fangs nearly invisible in the soft light. The footsteps were soft, gentle, unhurried... A wonderful victim. Lady Wilhelmina drifted into the shadows as she stalked her victim, her own footsteps nothing more than the soft rain around them. She was a creature of the night after all, as elegant and mystical as this lovely clouded sky... But far more dangerous.

Within moments, Lady Wilhelmina's dark eyes were laid upon her newest victim, her soon to be pet... The girl was so cute, so innocent, so vulnerable... The Lady could almost taste her sweet blood already, could almost see her curled up at the foot of her bed like a little kitty... Like a soft breeze, she flew ahead of the human, looking upon her soft face. Naturally it would be pitifully easy to just attack her from behind, sinking her teeth into that little neck before they even noticed she was there, but that was so boring. Where was the romance, the fun? No, she preferred a much more direct approach. One that was more pleasurable for all involved...

Lady Wilhelmina relished the immediate reaction of panic her appearance caused. The girl froze and jolted back, her eyes going wide, a cry of alarm echoing ineffectually among the soft patter of the rain. Her hand instinctively flew to her necklace, a silver symbol that the Lady vaguely recognized but had no interest in. Lady Wilhelmina strode forward, her dark cloak implying the dark beast she truly was as her soothing, melodic voice pierced through the rain. "A lovely night for a walk, is it not~?" She stopped and beckoned slowly. "Come closer, why don't you~?" She laughed cruelly as the girl's eyes darted around. "There's no point running, human. All you can do now is give yourself to me. I promise you'll love it. I'll make you feel so good~..." Her crimson eyes shone through the dark, far brighter than the streetlamps... And oh so much more beautiful...

The girl was already falling, her body swaying slightly as Lady Wilhelmina's crimson gaze crept into her mind. "N-No..." She hastily dug around in her bag, pulling out a clove of the disgusting plant humans sometimes foolishly tried to protect themselves with. Lady Wilhelmina's nose crinkled as the revolting stench reached her, and she stepped back, her eyes glowing brighter. "There's no need for that, human~. Toss it away, and Come Closer." She smiled as the human dropped the disgusting thing and began walking towards her, unable to resist her power. The sight of a human trying so hard to resist, yet unable to do anything but step docilely towards her... Oh, it was effervescent. She waved her fingers toward her eyes, drawing the human's attention. "Stare deeper, human~. The closer you come, the larger my eyes grow... The larger my eyes grow, the deeper you stare... And the deeper you stare, the more you must come closer~... That's it, just stand before me~..." She grinned down at the lovely girl before her.

A small glimmer of resistance still swam deep in the human's eyes, steadily drowning in Lady Wilhelmina's mesmerizing crimson light. However, her face already wore a wonderfully docile and entranced smile, as all humans under her spell eventually did. The smile wasn't as blank as Lady Wilhelmina was used to, though... Perhaps this human realized how ideal this situation was for her, becoming the blissful pet of a truly beautiful, magnificent, and kind Vampire Lady. And far be it from her to deny this lovely human what she had been promised. "Aww, how obedient~! You'll love being my pet~..." She gently tilted the human's head to the side, exposing her neck. "Just relax, and let me feed~..." She bit down, beginning to drink the sweet, sweet blood.

As the human's body relaxed in Lady Wilhelmina's arms, she drank of their delicious nectar. Nothing humans could ever create would be as wonderful as their own blood. And this human's blood was so sweet, so delectable... It was the best she had tasted in years... She would need to stop herself from drinking it all. Overindulgence always made her pets so dizzy... So lightheaded... So... So sleepy... She was starting to feel so sleepy... The blood was so delicious, she already felt so full and sleepy... But she wanted to keep drinking... Sucking up every last drop... Every last drop... The raindrops, falling all over her body... She saw the rain falling past the light of the streetlamp... It was so pretty... So romantic... So mystical... All her thoughts were being washed away by the rain... Washed away by the sweet, sweet blood she was drinking... She forgot why she was there... What she was doing... Why she was doing anything except falling asleep... And soon, just like the rain... Lady Wilhelmina dropped, falling fast asleep on the silent streets.

A few hours later, as the rain slowed and stopped, Lady Wilhelmina's body moved slightly. The human underneath weakly pushed the sleeping vampire off of her, her face pale but slowly growing alert. She reached a shaking hand into her bag and grabbed a small bottle, thirstily guzzling the contents. The concoction wouldn't completely stave off the effects of the blood loss, but it'd help keep her awake at least. She looked down at the vampire, breathing shakily, a weak smile on her face. The vampire really looked so much less terrifying like this. She looked kind of cute, even. Almost docile. Taking a deep breath, the human pulled out her blessed stake, and put it on her belt. Her potion certainly seemed to have made her blood properly addictive, but she hadn't quite put the finishing touches on it yet, so having a weapon at hand would be best. She gently waved a sprig of lavender under the vampire's nose, and held her breath as they slowly started to move. She soon found herself staring down at a pair of bleary, unfocused crimson eyes, and put on a confident smile. "Had a nice meal, little vampire?"

Lady Wilhelmina gazed sleepily up at the pretty human, her head fuzzy and drifty. Her normally seductive voice was dazed and soft, uncharacteristically cute. "Sweet... Yummy..." The human smiled down at her. "Yes, it was, wasn't it? It made you feel really good, didn't it?" Lady Wilhelmina nodded sleepily, a dopey smile on her bloodstained mouth. "Feel nice... Rainy..." The human's breath caught for a second, but she took a deep breath before continuing. "And what should you do for someone who makes you feel so good?" Her heart beat rapidly in her chest as the vampire blinked slowly. This was the moment of truth, the culmination of all her efforts. If this worked, this would be a massive boon in the fight against the undead... And if it didn't... Well, at least she could feel confident she'd be a particularly beloved pet, at least. Finally, Lady Wilhelmina answered, her voice unsure and submissive. "...Obey...?" The human exhaled, relief flooding her body. She laughed slightly, and smiled down at the hypnotized vampire. "Correct! You should obey humans that make you feel good!" She gently caressed the vampire's face, and the vampire happily leaned into her touch. It felt so exhilarating, this powerful creature acting like her pet...

The human gently raised her new pet, Lady Wilhelmina, to her feet, smiling as they rested her head sleepily on top of hers. "Follow me back to my home, my cute little vampire. We wouldn't want you burning up when you feel so good, would we?" Lady Wilhelmina sleepily shook her head, and the human laughed. "And don't worry, I'll have so many wonderful things to fill your sleepy little head with while you feel so good. It'll feel so good to obey Mistress Rainer." Lady Wilhelmina sleepily responded, "Mistress... Rainy...", and Rainer giggled. "Exactly! Now take my hand, and I'll show you to your new room. I even made a coffin, just in case!" And Lady Wilhelmina obediently followed Mistress Rainer... Her mystical, romantic mistress...

Fun fact: The reason rain is used to represent loss of focus/memory is because I lost my first draft due to my phone screen getting covered in water and exiting the app without saving! Not quite as romantic and mystical as I had hoped writing outside would be. Although honestly, the first draft was pretty lengthy so the rain actually did me a favor by forcing me to compress it lol. I also briefly considered having Rainer be obviously a (very hot) vampire hunter just from a glance, but I felt that having her look more vulnerable and innocent worked a lot better for the story.
