A young police officer recounts how she came to see the astonishing degree of compatibility between Hypnoman's goals and the greater purpose of her job in law enforcement.

After I helped Hypnoman escape during my first encounter with him, the captain put me on mandatory psychiatric leave. No disciplinary actions or pay dock though. They couldn't punish me for something Hypnoman made me do. At least, not without the police union and press coming down on them like a ton of bricks. So I got a month off with full pay as long as I visited a shrink every few days.

I was only one day into my leave when I realized I'd already forgiven Hypnoman. I rationalized everything he did and my frustration just...I dunno...bled out. I didn't really feel upset about it at all.

When the news broke about how he got that mobster's daughter to turn in her dad and his associates, I was still on leave. I was proud of him Hypnoman though I didn't fully understand why at the time. I felt like the city was made safer by what he did, a bit more...orderly. I almost couldn't contain my excitement when I heard that he got two of Demo's henchgirls to sabotage his escape from to cops after a heist went bad. They didn't have an interview this time, but they left an audio recording where Demo was found and arrested. The recording was aired on TV the next night and the girls talked about how Hypnoman showed them their true potential, how Demo needed to be out of the picture and that they served Hypnoman from that point forward.

It was then that I realized why I was coming to respect Hypnoman. He had long term plans that would culminate in creating a new order for Engine City. Not only that, but I realized that he would decide what was law for its women. That's when it hit me. His goal was law and order, the very things I was sworn to protect as a police office. What's more, his vision for the city would be a much more...peaceful one. I asked myself if I could really defend the peace in a society where the women were controlled by a supervillain and to my surprise the answer was 'yes.' I could do it. And I would do it.

That was the moment I had a vision of myself standing in front of Hypnoman, back when I was trying to stop him in the middle of his electronics heist. He had his hand stretched out toward me and this mind numbing light was in my face. He was saying how I'd start to see the true value of what he was doing, how I'd desire to serve him when I realized what his victory would truly mean for Engine City.

And he was right. I wanted nothing more than to help him succeed. I wanted to aid him in his takeover. And I wanted my fellow policewomen to join me. A phone number appeared in my mind and I texted it, getting a reply telling me to go to some back alley shop in Chinatown and that I'd be expected. When I went there, a girl in a thick black sweater and green beanie gave my a handheld hypnotic projector.

I knew who I'd be using it on the instant I got it. I would awaken them to the same truth I now believed with every fibre of my being. I would be a recruiter and informant. I have already given Hypnoman access to ECPD computer networks. I will provide him with the personal information of other policewomen next.

Even after everything I've learned, even after I've earned my master's forgiveness, I'm ashamed of the fact I once opposed him. I pointed a gun at him and gave him an order. I'm amazed he still wanted me to serve him after I showed such brazen insolence. Hypnoman has told me that I will forgive myself in time and that he already has. I was so happy that I offered him a titfuck, and I loved having him splatter on my face when he came. Maybe I'll blow him next time.

Hypnoman's will is law. He will bring Engine City order. And I will enforce that order.
