Hi everyone! You may notice that I've changed the chapter titles. I did this because as we approach 30 chapters it gets a bit hard to follow which one is which in the story index. I had already done something like this in my private doc for a while, just figured I should make it public.

Anyway, enjoy the more! I have several chapters to share and will start to do so, starting with this weird one. Have fun!

Research Notes, Week of 17 May 2025
Compiled by: Luminita Stoica

Research is back on track, hopefully for good this time. Things settling into rhythm

Religious vulnerability research

  • Abrahamic religion is sufficiently complete, with the expected lack of results.
    • Leaving denominations which emphasize personal understanding over ceremony out of scope, as they are inherently fragmentary and typically lack relevant rituals anyway
    • Satanist groups have given mixed responses. Didn’t reach out to Neo-Nazi ones for obvious reasons. Positive experiences with some local pseudo-satanic occultists, who were very patient with me as we attempted their blood rituals
    • “Evil” rituals, curses, etc have no effect, positive or negative. I must admit, some part of me had still believed Violet about this
  • Religion and cultural practice become less divided in many places, complicating matters
    • The use of garlic and silver to ward evil is cultural, mythological, and religious, in different measures.
    • Possible other things may be relevant without invoking ‘God’ or similar
    • Past data focus on garlic and silver may be owed in part to American cultural bias of participating vampires. Unsure how to account for this
    • Potentially relevant observations encountered in investigations:
      • found some ofudas irritating to the touch, though only those made of unusual materials
      • more bothered by the dreamcatcher in my bedroom recently. Isolating for normal shifts in sentiment towards dreamcatchers difficult; testing would require proper outreach to Ojibwe groups. Removed the dreamcatcher for now
      • the Amish horse refused to let me near it. Perhaps it sensed me? Or perhaps it is a tempermental horse
      • some local religious facilities, temples, etc were mildly uncomfortable to enter; often these were diasporic in nature, places where a people feel ‘at home’ perhaps
      • placing a coin in my mouth per the ancient greek practice engenders a certain sense of suffocation. Indistinguishable from anxiety about having a coin in my mouth. Recommend when replicating to confirm the coin's metal composition beforehand
      • Speaking of metals, it's only silver. Other similar metals commonly seen as ‘pure’ don't count
      • Spilled whole-grain spices on the ground at a temple and felt the urge to count the grains as I returned them to their source; I may just be autistic
  • Further study is likely to be unhelpful and deeply chauvinist without consultation with various theological experts. Frankly, this is a low priority. I’m abandoning it for now

Charisma research

  • Finished moving all relevant voice recordings to safe at undisclosed location; my and Linda’s hard disks have been sanitized
    • No further research in this area will be conducted at this time
    • Expecting notice from Dean’s office in case of any copies discovered
  • Review of ‘body language analysis’ literature inconclusive
    • No new information regarding vampirism appears to relate to the pseudoscientific nature of this discipline
    • Unfortunately a comprehensive review of past interviews for signs of relevance is impossible, as they were interviews with vampires
    • Systematic confirmation one way or the other seems unlikely
  • Personal control over charisma has increased observed TTI (time-to-incoherence) by a factor of five
    • Perhaps control can become second nature but presently it still requires active effort
    • Linda, as ever, deserves commendation for her help with testing; not mentioning other participants for privacy reasons

‘Home’ obervations

  • Completed environmental panel of various ‘home’ and ‘non-home’ environments. Results inconclusive
    • statistically significant differences in temperature, audio distortion, electromagnetic radiation, humidity, and light in ‘home’ environments compared to ‘non-home’ environments; all effects can be accounted for by obvious mundane explanations
  • Could not initially review audio taken from N's home, due to psychological block; block was released when N invited me into her home
    • This may indicate a connection between ‘home’ and ‘charisma’, as both persist in recordings
    • relation to visual unrecordability of vampires unclear
  • More experiments necessary, avoiding earlier mistakes
    • Include indoor and outdoor locations evenly for both ‘home’ and ‘non-home’ groups
    • Attempt blind test of ‘home’ recordings— can I reliably distinguish them without knowing in advance?
    • Include in environmental panel vampiric assessment of location ‘feeling like a home’
      • Attempt to include assessments from multiple vampires if possible
    • Long-term project: observe the same location, furnished identically, before vs after it is inhabited.
      • Identify onset rate of ‘home’ status
      • If possible, isolate precise differences and test reactions to isolated data
      • Said object is uncomfortable to imagine even now. Cause unclear

Blood flavor research

  • Further mundane feeding has lined up with existing framework— likely biased by framework existence
    • No aspect is ready for publishing. I welcome anyone who can debunk personality as a factor and will assist heartily (heartbeat notwithstanding)
    • Revise AB notes
  • P2 phenotype of P1PK seems to grant a sort of ‘inversion’ effect. May also relate to Lutheran system ‘shift’
  • More experience of non-thrall blood, may be detecting subtle taste differences
    • No difference enthralled vs not when drinking from N; begetter's thralls share flavor which N doesn't
    • Shared flavor is something like an unripe fruit, a very sweet one. May correspond to begetter's personality
    • Should soon have opportunity to taste one of begetter's thralls while not enthralled, may help confirm
    • Begetter could confirm the reverse by drinking from N. However, this is impossible

Enthrallment

  • ‘Release’ tactics approaching viability for general use
    • Self-contradiction is a concern, preventing direct release “by command”, but things can be excised methodically in trance
    • Perpetual split between not lying and not telling the truth; the finalized theory must not include any notion that it is ‘impossible’ to release thralls, because it is, when done properly, requiring hypnosis, and some memory adjustments
    • Begetter feedback indicates clear documentation is necessary. Methods may be simplified in future
  • More exploration necessary on notion of releasing humans to something rather than ordering their release directly
    • What are they being released to? The universe? Themselves? God?
  • Increasingly concerned with questions of permanence
    • even ‘released’ thralls might perhaps only believe themselves to be released so deeply as to manifest it
    • ‘Release’ still requires manipulations and lies I wish to avoid
    • Ontological proof of ‘released’ thralls being identical to their former selves seems unlikely
  • New project: While expanding my pool of willing donors/‘friends-with-benefits’, attempt metabolic panel with before/during/after samples to find any changes
    • Preliminary tests on N have shown some difference though little so far
    • Compare any differences to isolated ‘home’ and ‘charisma’ samples

Current Status is optimistic. If things continue on this trajectory, I believe I might have some workable hypotheses quite soon.
