Saccharine Sweets: Short Fics to Snuggle To
Training

Marie sat down at her computer and opened her email to find the webinar invite she’d saved from last week. It was some vendor fireside chat or something, but she needed the continuing education hours and figured listening to someone talk about their product for half a day would be fine as background noise. She clicked the link and the page went bright white as it slowly loaded in.
Marie sighed as the page loaded and the registration form filled out the page. “These things are getting ridiculously long. How much information do they need? Sheesh.” Marie scrolled through putting false data in all the fields except her name and junk email address and the video started to buffer.”
“Welcome to today’s ROM AI training. We’ll get started in just a few moments, but until then, please enjoy our patented elevator style musical interlude.” The voice rattled off like a pre-recorded public service announcement before the music faded in and the video went to an animated, looped background of floating bubbles.
Marie stared at the screen waiting for the meeting to start until the sound of the voice interrupted her concentration. “Thank you for attending this online training. We hope to hear from you soon. And maybe your colleagues, too.”
