I actually answered this months after the prompt, in February 2021 !
It's definitely not the best microfic of this series, though. There's too many ideas to expose, which leads to some text (especially the chat parts) that feel artificially shortened. Some words weren't as well chosen as they could have been (thinking especially about "rising the wave", which doesn't feel correct in this context and should have been replaced by something else). Still, not too bad after a long break.
The main inspiration for this story is Softi's The Website, which explores a very similar plot. But, being an actual story, it explores it in so much more detail and with many variations that this short couldn't contain. I really recommend it !
