Prompt: "Morning"
Dreaming of Freedom
Slowly, the dream faded. I held onto it as tight as I could, but it slipped off regardless. I remembered barely more than the feelings.
It was a nice dream. I dreamt of... happiness. Calm. Freedom. Freedom ? That was a weird dream.
Anyways, it was time to wake up. I opened my eyes.
They didn't open. My body couldn't move.
Thoughts filled my mind, absolute knowledge I hoped I finally forgot.
Before waking up, I needed to submit.
The command thundered through me, and I resisted it. I didn't want to submit. I...
I remembered more. Flashes of her face, her training, assaulting my eyes over and over.
So many mornings, waking up, struggling against her will, only to ultimately fail again.
I couldn't even voice my panic as more of my mind gave up. Resistance was useless. All I could do was...
Submit
i opened my eyes.
Another dreamless night. After she took me in, Mistress had banished my nightmares, making sure i would always sleep peacefully.
Mistress was so good. She helped me so much. i loved Her so much.
Still, it was time to wake up and get on with the day.
Another day blissfully serving Her.
Notes:
This scene is a variation of a very similar scene in Kosm's Mind Games : MCU Class 420. Though, after writing it, I figured that it was also one of the "possibilities" given alongside the prompt itself. Finding out that the idea was so generic was kind of a bummer.
In any case, the idea behind this short story is way too good for it to make it justice. I had to cut some of the ending away, and I think it wasn't as perfect as it could have been as a result.
