Prompt: "Snow"

Watching the snow fall

All around me, the snow was falling.

I was just outside my house, having rushed out the door when it started. It felt so right to just spin and laugh without care as the tiny flakes spinned around me in a whirlwind.

On the ground, there was a thin layer of snow. I had left footprints in it.

I looked up toward the sky, slowing down. All the flakes were falling towards me. It was beautiful.

The weather was getting calmer now, and the storm was clearing. I could see past it, towards the glass.

Everything was slowing down. The snow was nearly settled. The experience, the joy of being here, it all felt like it was stretching into eternity.

The last few flakes fell on my face.

Hera watched as the last of the snow settled inside the globe. The miniature woman was now still, looking to the sky without a thought in her head.

The girl was a chance encounter. She was watching the snow fall while strolling down the sidewalk. She hadn't minded her surroundings, and had crashed right into Hera.

Now, she could look for however long she wished. Hera just needed to shake the globe.

Notes:

Yet another "protagonist is trapped and put on display" story :) Honestly if my first published longer-form story doesn't include at least some of that, I think I'd have failed myself.

This doesn't really have a direct inspiration. The ideas were picked out from here and there, without really a single source.
