I squirmed and pulled, but couldn’t seem to get free.
“Sh, no need to struggle. Well, you can if you want to. But pulling against the bonds will only make them stronger.”
I pulled. Why wouldn’t I? This vampire was threatening to bite me and make me his slave!
“Threatening? You want this. And not slave, silly. Thrall.”
I glared at him.
He grinned. “Looking into my eyes already? That’s right.”
I could feel his gaze pull on my mind. I looked down. Blushing.
“Aww, so cute! You’re going to make a fantastic thrall.”
“I won’t! I’ll…escape! Somehow.” I knew it was hopeless, but I was determined to defy him anyway.
“Oh? Why don’t you stand up right now, then. Surely it’s not that hard to get out of a chair.”
“Because you tied my arms!”
“Did I? With what?”
I considered this, confused. With…
I looked at my arms. They weren’t tied. “But then, how…” I pulled again, and my arm seemed to be stuck even more.
He chuckled. It was a rich, dark sound I felt all the way down to my toes. He seemed to notice my reaction. I blushed harder. “Your mind made it work. You could stand up any time if you wanted to. The problem is,” he reached down and took my chin in his hand, gently, and lifted my gaze back to his. “You don’t want to. You want to look deeper into my eyes, that’s right, until you feel yourself starting to sink, to drift, to let go and fall down and deeper down until you let your eyes flutter closed, that’s right. You know what comes next.” He stroked my cheek, and it felt amazing, leaving a trail of tingles in the wake of his fingers. I nodded. I did know. “Tell me, thrall.”
“You will,” I swallowed nervously. “You bite my neck, and then drink a little of my blood.”
“That’s right.” Another caress, and I leaned into it, wanting more. “And do you remember what comes next?”
“I… remember we’ve done this before. You’ve tasted my blood before. And then… you gave me some of yours.”
“That’s right. You’re going to be such a good thrall for me. Just let yourself sink all the way down and relax, I’ll help you lean back in the chair.” He guided my body gently to rest on the recliner. Even after I stopped, I felt like I was still falling down, and deeper down, floating ever down deeper. Distantly, I felt him leaning close to my ear and saying, “And though you might not have remembered it, I gave you a choice: stay away from my club, and be free to go your own way. Or return for a third bite, come to me and ask for a dance,” I felt his breath on my neck, strangely cool. “And I would finish the binding.”
I felt his teeth brush my neck, and my mind let go, my spirit soared.
