• Starting February 20th, 2023, new stories and chapters taking place in the Human Domestication Guide universe will no longer be accepted on Read Only Mind.
• We will not remove any existing stories and chapters posted before February 20th, 2023. All of these stories will be grandfathered in.
• Authors writing stories in the Human Domestication Guide universe have created or continued their works in various other places, and most authors have now been posting over on Archive of our Own, under the Human Domestication Guide fandom. Hello everyone. We have a special announcement to make.

Read Only Mind is a website created for authors and by authors who wanted a more author-friendly website to upload their work, read others, and foster connections with fellow authors. Our goal was to create a place where anybody could create and write stories as they wished, with both an ease of access, a diversity of voices, and a focus on creativity. So far, we hope that we were able to live up to this goal.

At the time we're writing this announcement, an overwhelming majority of the updates on the front page is associated with a specific universe and tag, more specifically, the Human Domestication Guide extended universe. This situation has slowly been developing over the past year, and is continuing to develop for the start of this new year. We have gotten a fair amount of feedback about this, and we are, by now, very aware that this can and does affect the visibility of any stories that are not linked to that universe.

On an individual basis, stories happening in the Human Domestication Guide universe are aligned with the goal we set for Read Only Mind. We've been happy and thrilled that so many new and existing authors would give a shot at writing a story in this universe, and we really hope that the effort we put into making Read Only Mind accessible and user-friendly helped with that.

However, we feel like the Human Domestication Guide universe as a whole outgrew the Read Only Mind site, and that it should have a more adapted place where it can thrive further without impacting other authors.

As a result, starting on February 20th, 2023, we will no longer be accepting new stories, or new chapters to existing stories, happening in the Human Domestication Guide universe. The previous stories and chapters that have already been published can remain, and chapters are always editable to let readers know where they may find the author’s future stories and chapters going forward.

In order to smooth the transition, we have been, and will continue to, provide assistance to authors who wish to keep writing in this universe. We aim to help them find or create a place for their stories, as well as to help implement what is needed for authors wishing to migrate. At the time of this announcement, this is an ongoing discussion. In the meantime, a lot of authors have already been posting over on Archive of our Own, under the Human Domestication Guide fandom. Authors who wish to duplicate their works there can find the export instructions for Archive of our Own by using the new "Check export instructions" link on their stories' management section.

We do wish the Human Domestication Guide community the best of luck in the future.
