Long-time reader of erotic mind control stories. I prefer long, drawn out stories with interesting characters even at the expense of hot smut (although stories that can blend the two are preferable 😉
I've found that I gravitate towards two protagonist tropes and the story types that often accompany them. One is the reluctant hypnotist/telepath/etc who at least *tries* to be good and moral with their abilities most of the time. The second are victims fighting up against their mental enslavement that eventually succeed. So yeah, I guess I prefer sprawling goody two shoes hypnosis narratives that often (thought not always) end in feel good-ish endings. Not a lot of those around and I have enjoyed plenty outside those confines, but those are the story types I get really excited when I find if they have good writing; if its a long sprawling epic, all the better.
