“What are you still doing here?” Maureen said to Hank while the police officer’s pistol remained firmly pressed against her right temple. “Leave now.”
“I’m sorry, Goddess, but I can’t do that,” the music producer retorted. “I’m staying with you no matter what.”
“You’ve always been stubborn when you wanted to...” she grinned. “Very well, you can stay. We’ll discuss your punishment later.”
“Yes, Goddess.”
“Enough with this Goddess nonsense!” Officer Blake growled as he started reciting the Miranda warning: “You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in court. You have the right to talk to a lawyer...”
“You can stop right there, officer,” Maureen glanced at him, a pool of contradictory feelings bubbling in her eyes. On the one hand, she was fuming on the inside for being harassed and threatened for no reason but on the other, she needed to give the example and not allow rage or any other strong emotion to jeopardize her aura of power and control. Slowly guiding her right hand to the barrel of the gun, she said, “Let’s just all calm down here. You’re too stressed out for no reason. You need to relax.”
“You don’t get to tell me what to do, Miss. I’m the one with the badge and the gun here, not you.”
“True, but neither of those things is important if you don’t have the self-discipline to go with them. Whether you’re having a terrible day - hey, it happens to everyone! - or you’re a shitty person through and through, there comes a time when you need to take a step back and realize that you’re betraying your oath with your reckless actions right now. Your police’s motto is to protect and serve, not to yell and abuse, and believe me when I tell you that I know all about service and those that genuinely thrive on it and can’t live without it. It’s my job after all.”
“I don’t give a rat's ass about your job, Miss! Now, stop talking or I’ll...”
“You’ll what? Shoot me? At point blank that would mean certain death and I don’t think you really want that on your consciousness. As for me, I like being alive very much and so do my pets. We have a special type of relationship most people on the outside don’t understand. To do what I do and for them to let me do it requires a level of trust and empathy that’s severely lacking in most human beings. That trust is also a well of strength that keeps us afloat even in the darkest of times. I wouldn’t trade it for anything else in this world. Now, you can try to do to me whatever the hell you want but I’ll be damned if I’ll ever allow you to come between me and those I care for. You interrupted our game, but also a demonstration of this undying strength and that’s why now I must discipline you, so it doesn’t happen again, not only to us but also everyone else you come in contact with in the future. You’ve forgotten how to be a good man, Officer Blake, but I’ll help you remember it now.”
“What is this rambling nonsense?” he clenched his teeth. “Who are you trying to school?”
“The part of you that determines everything that you are. You see, we’re not just a single self, a unitary version that encapsulates body and mind, and goes through the grinding motions of life, never changing, always the same. We are and will always be multiples. We’re different people when we’re alone. We’re different people when surrounded by friends. We’re different people around family members whether we like them a lot or not. We’re different people when we’re doing our job and are expected to adhere to specific rules of conduct and norms. And yet, all these reflections of our existence are governed by a primeval called the subconscious. It is always working for us, either to keep us grounded or create ways for us to learn and constantly evolve. As a Domme, I’m always tapping into my submissive’s subconscious to shape it and make it grow in ways that are beneficial to us both, but I’m not just a Domme. I’m also a hypnotist, and hypnosis is yet another tool that allows for this sort of access and the awakening of simpler and better ways to look at the world and better ourselves. I’m telling you this so that you’re at least aware of what’s about to happen to you without freaking out or being scared. This is for your good, Officer Blake. The sooner you realize this the faster you’ll be on the road to becoming a better man.”
“I think I’ve heard enough,” he gently pulled the gun away from her head to reach for a pair of handcuffs dangling from his belt. “Give me your hands.”
“No.” Maureen stood her ground once again. “You are not going to cuff me. It’s not something you really want to do.”
“Shall I add resisting arrest to the list of charges being pressed against you, then?”
“You can try to add whatever you wish but the goal of our little chat is the opposite of that. I don’t want to add insult to injury or more troubles than the ones we’re already facing but subtract things. We’re here so you can relax, so that the rhythm of your heart becomes one with the cadence of my voice, as we gently remove all the little triggers within your psyche that are causing you to behave in such an erratic way. You think that having that gun in your hand gives you power and comfort when it’s actually a massive burden slowing you down, weighing on your hands, and making your muscles go sore and tired. The more you hold it, the more tired you get, little tendrils of pain spreading across your wrists and arms. You can’t see them and yet you acknowledge they’re there, branching out across your nerves, wrapping around the joints, and pushing you down, down, down... Wouldn’t it be nice if this encroaching pain was to go away, never to return? You can subtract it from your mind and your existence as an individual by simply lowering your hand and letting go of the primary source of discomfort. That firearm is an extra you won’t need. Let it go. Slowly allow your fingers to relax, the pain subsiding as you do. Hands down, pistol pointing at the floor. Don’t release the safety and simply allow it to fall, fall, fall... just like you’re falling for the sound of my voice, awash in its dulcet tones. You are so relaxed listening to my voice. You feel so good listening to my voice. It will be even better once you stop giving that gun power it doesn’t deserve. You don’t need it anymore. You have me, and my voice, my honeyed words filling your soul with unspeakable bliss. Follow them. Follow me and drop the pistol now. Drop it.”
Officer Blake involuntarily loosened the grip on the firearm, and it plunged heavily onto the concrete floor. Maureen quickly glanced at Hank for him to pick it up and keep it safe while she continued to work her mesmerizing magic on the policeman’s confused mind.
“Very good. Notice how you are already aching less, more relaxed, and more at ease. The menacing pain is now but a gentle throb across your arms and legs and soon it will be gone, replaced by a soothing numbness like someone is massaging you and gently lulling you into sleep. This is so good, it’s everything you wanted. When the madness of society comes for you and every little thing hurts and makes you feel like shit, you find absolute solace in knowing that is but a fleeting state of mind. You can relinquish all extraneous thoughts and emotions the same way you relinquished the gun just now. Once, someone said that the path of excess leads to the tower of wisdom, but that’s only true if this excess is what you’re looking for in the first place, and you’re not. You want its opposite, a wave of peace you can ride at your heart’s content. You want to have no worries, no pernicious ideas of overwhelming control. Let them go as well. My voice will carry them in the wind and scatter them beyond the reach of your conscious mind. Only your subconscious matters now and having my voice inside it guides you into a deeper layer of hypnotic surrender.
“Surrender. Such a beautiful word. It’s incredible how so few syllables can evoke a sensation so perfect that once you begin to experience it you crave nothing else. A voice that calls out to surrender is one to be heard, respected, and loved. My voice is the balm you need, and it’s already taken root within you. Even if I stopped talking right now, you’d still hear it, one echo after the other bouncing off your thoughts. A whisper and you tingle, a purr and you melt. My voice slides so deep that it becomes an integral part of anyone that listens to it, and your subconscious can no longer get enough of it.

“You see, every time you surrender a part of yourself to me, an exultant addiction grows. Normally, people would say that being addicted to anything or anyone is a bad thing, but not this time, and never when it comes to my voice. If you’re having trouble keeping your emotions in check, and anger and disgust are all you can muster when faced with a situation that’s bothering you more than it should, then isn’t it a good thing to put that aside, to subtract the negativity from within you and let someone do the thinking? Someone with a powerful, hypnotic voice... someone who has already delivered you from anguish and will keep on doing so... someone the inner recesses of your brain can trust completely because they recognize me as the better part of what they are. Every time you surrender, this spark of addiction shines brighter, lighting up your spirit with warmth and even more relaxation. How can something so right ever be wrong? It can’t. It would be the ultimate contradiction and the ultimate betrayal, but you no longer have to worry about trifling affairs like those. I’m here, my voice is here, and wherever it leads you, you will gladly trail behind, deeper and deeper, deeper and deeper, with nothing on your mind, a blank slate where your old and bitter version of yourself used to be. Deeper for me, Officer. Lost in the power of my voice and this inescapable dream of trance. Deeper, unable to move or utter a sound until I address you again. You will obey.”
The irate policeman was no more, his entire body tingling with the raw energy emanating from her voice. His eyelids fluttered as he tried to remain awake, the colors of the world first becoming brighter as if he had flown too close to the sun, and then dying down, embers of gray oblivion blowing his thoughts away. Standing next to him, Hank was also almost asleep, mindlessly responding to past conditioning, triggers of trust, and yearnings of total capitulation. Goddess knew best. She was always right, whether she was taking his hard-earned money for a spin or taking yet another sliver of the illusionary construct that was his free will. He was so happy to be hers.
He had just closed his eyes when Maureen snapped him out of it with a gentle touch on the back of his neck. “Not you, slave. I need you awake for this.”
“Hmmm... right...” he muttered, fragments of her dreamy induction reverberating inside his skull. “How may I serve you?”
“Help our little guest get inside the car but be gentle about it. We can’t let him awake before time.”
“As you wish, Goddess,” he stared into the man’s vacant eyes. “Wow, you really did a number on him just now!”
“Were there any doubts that would happen?” she smirked.
“No, Goddess. Why would there be? I know how powerful you are...” Hank brushed a strand of hair from his slightly entranced visage.
“I know you do, slave, but you better never forget it.”
“I wouldn’t dream of it, Goddess,” the music producer opened the passenger’s door and nudged his now-entranced companion to sink into the warm seat. “So, what happens now?”
“This is not the best place for a full reprogramming, so I’m taking him to my place to do just that and then you can have your car back.”
“Does that mean you’ve decided to take him under your wing for real?”
“Not yet, but I will dig deep inside his brain to see just how useful he can be with the right frame of mind. The rest of our little fantasy will have to wait for another occasion.”
“Disappointing, but I understand. Do as you must, Goddess, and be sure to keep the credit cards with you until we’re together again,” he said.
“That’s quite generous of you, slave, and something I won’t forget. Call someone to take you home and I’ll contact you soon.”

“Yes, Goddess, and good luck with your new subject.” he took a bow as she grabbed the wheel and waved her pearly hand.
“Who needs luck when you’ve got hypnosis?” Maureen said her goodbyes and drove away with Officer Blake still drifting within her mesmerizing spell. With nothing on his mind except the power of her words, he was a much more agreeable individual, one she knew for sure she could train and reshape. Police brutality was at an all-time high in the city and the last thing its citizens needed was to risk being pulled over by a walking time bomb with a trigger-happy finger who saw rules as absolutes and cared not about the details of each situation. That was the first thing that had to change in his mind if he was to become everything she wanted to be.
The road stretched before his vacant gaze, the white traffic lines dissolving into infinity. Time moved differently in his altered state of mind, with seconds turning into hours and minutes feeling like weeks or entire months flashing in and out of reality. There was no way he could tell just how long it had elapsed when Maureen’s sultry voice took over his soul again.
“Deeply asleep and content with your new station, accepting the power of trance over you. My voice is your voice. My will is your will, the only rules you follow now are mine. I’ve placed your mind under arrest, a prison you gladly accept because it is the only one where you can truly be free. Each word I speak feeds your growing addiction and adds a new bar to this cage where you belong. From this moment forward and until I finish rewiring the loose connections inside your psyche, you will only respond to my suggestions, sinking deeper into my control every time you obey. Never stray from this path and you will be a better brand-new man in the end, one everyone will be proud of and will love to work with. You need not worry about your job while you’re away for my contacts in the force will guarantee its safety. The only thing that should concern you is how to do whatever it takes to keep me interested and focused on you. Stay calm and obedient at all times and my voice will take care of the rest. Keep sleeping, enveloped in the beauty of trance. The next time you regain consciousness, we’ll already be in my house, ready for your training to sleep. Sleep. That is the will of your warden and Goddess.”
No resistance left in him, the overzealous cop deliquesced in his seat, for he now understood the truth of the world. There was only Maureen, a Goddess with a golden cage with his name on it. His was the best prison in the universe, with no chance for parole. He needed nothing else.
