PART 2: Preparing the downfall

Lucy arrived two weeks later.

Sarah opened the door to the girl, dressed with white sneakers, a blue jean hugging her thin frame and a pale pink blouse covering her flat chest, pulling an enormous suitcase.

"Hey Sarah.

-Hello, please come in!", she chirped.

During this two weeks, Sarah didn't stay idle and prepared two things for Lucy.

First, with the help of a tech guy friend, she installed multiple HD cameras in the room to get her housemate in every angle. But the most important camera was lodged in the ceiling, pointed at the desk.

The camera captured Lucy settling in, opening her bags, rearranging the room a bit. Putting her computer on the desk. Logging in. Typing her password, captured in HD. On the first week of her old schoolmate moving in, Sarah got access to all her accounts (most were using the same password anyway).

Hands trembling with excitement, Sarah managed to get into her banking app. Only one account, a bit over 3 thousand dollars. Sarah disabled all notifications, and registered her card on some shady online casinos and porn sites. Every day, she would spend several hundreds, calculating it would deplete completely in about 4 weeks.

Second, Sarah had acquired drugs from an acquaintance working on porn sets. During this first week, she drugged Lucy. Her first day at school, she was already under a cocktail of roofies/GHB/Rohypnol that has been sipped in her water flask, starting with very low dose. Sarah ramped it up progressively, fueled by rage. On Tuesday, she gave her a bigger dose, not happy with the effect, and an even bigger dose the next day.

On Thursday Sarah had a scare as Sarah was so sick she couldn't even go to school. She helped her back to bed and kept the dosage low from now on. She wanted Lucy slow, confused and tired, hoping to make her fail her classes but not turn her into a full on zombie.

Let's say Lucy didn't make a good impression during her first week. She managed to socialize a bit, but she never had been very good at it and... she was so tired. She couldn't really follow conversation or what the teacher was saying really. She tried her best to navigate through an heavy, confusing brainfog that was sapping her energy.

At the start of the second week, Sarah used the passwords she stole from her desktop to take care of Lucy's housing grant. One day, while Lucy was away from her computer, Sarah logged in and navigated to the grant website. A prominent notice reminded users to "promptly report any additional income sources to ensure accurate grant calculations." with a link to do so. Perfect. Sarah clicked eagerly. She fabricated a detailed record of new earnings – gifted money, tutoring sessions, modeling gigs, and submitted it as supplemental income. She watched with grim satisfaction, anticipating the inevitable clawback of funds once Lucy's grant status would be reassessed. The simulation was very clear: Lucy wasn't eligible to a single penny anymore. For good measure, she added some rules to Lucy's mailbox: every mail sent by the housing committee would be deleted immediately.

She ran back to her own room, heart racing and sent a message to her tech friend: "It's done."

In the following days, Lucy would receive a fake email from him, but still from a very legitimate looking address, stating the following:

"Subject: Important Update Regarding Your Housing Grant

Dear Ms. xxxxxx,

Please be advised that your housing grant application is currently undergoing a mandatory administrative review due to recent revisions in eligibility criteria. This assessment is part of a system-wide process initiated on November 15th.

The Committee anticipates completing this evaluation and will reinstate grant funding, including any applicable retroactive payment, within four (4) months.

We are really sorry and appreciate your patience as we finalize our determination.

Sincerely,

The Regional Housing Assistance Department"

The trap has been set.
