Subject: Staff Development Day Concerns
Dear Mr. Rutherford,I am writing to express my concerns with the ethics of the request that came to me from your office this morning.I understand that part of the role I was hired for includes the development and facilitation of an employee health initiative for staff. However, I have concerns about your request for me to use covert hypnosis strategies with staff to increase productivity and company loyalty. I am aware that I have stretched my limits around covert and non-consensual hypnosis and brainwashing in the past, particularly around the new System Security Protocol, but… I mean, that’s for hackers who are getting in where they aren’t supposed to be in the first place. In some ways, anyone encountering that system kind of deserves what they get. This is for our own staff, who are simply doing what they’re told, and they trust us. It’s different.If staff performance is a concern, that appears to be an issue to be taken on by your Human Resources department. Same goes for loyalty to the company.
