Day 25: Still

Over the past few days, I’ve been working on a little project. You see, I have a plan for something I’ll be doing at Charmed next month.
And my plan involves glitter jars.
And so, in looking up different recipes for glitter jars, I’m coming to learn quite a lot about how they’re made.
There are a whole lot of options for what makes them swirl with all those beautiful colours.
Glue.
Glitter glue.
Glycerine.
Corn syrup.
You have to think about proportions.
You have to think about temperature.
You have to think about colours.
Oh yes, the colours.
See, the colour and the glitter?
Those are the fun parts of a glitter jar.
Those are the parts that draw in our attention.
That fascinate you.
That feel so good to stare at.
As the glitter just mixes around
Shining
Swirling
Whirling
Floating
Drifting
So easy to watch as it spins and swirls
And once it has your attention
So nicely
Feeling so nice to watch
As the light dances through the water
So nice to stare
But the glitter doesn’t just
Shine
And swirl
And whirl
And float
And drift
Forever
No, you can see
The colours
The glitter
As it swirls and reflects the light
You notice it is starting to swirl
Just a bit more slowly
As the glitter starts
Ever so slightly
To sink
Just s l o w i n g down
S o s l o w
S i n k i n g
Slowly
You might even notice your body relaxing
Sinking
Sinking along with the glitter
And as the glitter settles to the bottom of the jar
As your body settles along with it
You might notice
That you’ve been so focused on the glitter
Focusing on the swirls and whirls
That your body has been still for quite some time now
And as the glitter settles and stills
So does your mind
And so does your body
As more and more of the glitter
Sinks
And gathers at the bottom of the jar
Just a few shiny sparkles left
Floating so nicely
So slowly
So gently
Down
Down
Down
To the bottom
And as the last little speck floats down
You’ll find that you’re no longer focusing on the jar
Released from its mesmerizing spell
But if you’d like
And if safe and appropriate to do so
You’re free to go back to the beginning
And shake the jar up again
But if you’re all finished watching the fascinating swirls and whirls
You can leave this little experience
Your thoughts still calmingly still
But able to think when you need to
Able to move
Able to stretch your body
While carrying that calm relaxation with you.
Enjoy~
