“Hmmm… we’re just missing one thing… Ah! I’ve got it!”
I retrieved my friend’s oversized stuffed seal from its current resting place on the couch and handed it to them as they sat cross-legged at the front of the room.
Returning to the back of the room, I asked if everyone was ready.
After a chorus of “yes” and several giggles, I approached the friend sitting closest to the back of the room, moving behind them so that everyone in the room was facing away from me.
Gently, I tapped the back of my friend’s head and, exactly as we’d set it up, they dropped into trance, falling forward slightly in their cross-legged position.
As their head came to rest on the back of the person in front of them, she too dropped into trance, falling gently forward until her head came to rest on the back of the person in front of her.
And so on, until all 8 subjects in the room had dropped into trance, all resting comfortably on one another (except of course the subject at the front, resting comfortably on their seal friend).
I grinned, speaking gently to the room at large as I walked to the front of my little train of subjects.
After all, why shouldn’t it work in reverse?
