The demon ghost Patrazu watched the young girl carefully. The preteen was already showing signs of its' malignant influence. While she had started dipping into the occult with its' ouija board, Patrazu worked to steadily grow her unnatural interests in the background. It had watched her from the shadows of the library, making sure she had picked up the books on black magic and on hypnosis.
Its' sinister guidance had paid off- young Reagan had invited a schoolmate back to her room and was about to corrupt her too into evil, supernatural influences.
"I think I understand how to hypnotize you," Reagan said, fresh faced and determined.
"I don't know Reagan," said the girl from her school. "I'm sorry but- you don't seem like a hypnotist."
"That's OK," said Reagan. "The book taught me how to do it? Don't you want to try it?"
The other girl giggled. "OK, I guess," she said.
Patrazu secretly delighted at having another innocent under its command.
Reagan pulled out a gold locket. "OK, just look at the locket. And listen to my voice, ok?" She swung the locket back and forth.
The girl nodded, expression already looking blurry.
Patrazu shivered to itself in delight.
"Isn't it pretty when it reflects the light?' asked Reagan. "The lights are so pretty."
Patrazu admired her cleverness. The light reflection WAS really pretty- a perfect way to ensorcel her friend.
"It's really relaxing to watch the lights," said Reagan. "If you watch the light long enough, you'll likely get very sleepy."
Patrazu could understand- the lights WERE really nice to look at. They would certainly make a human sleepy. It was even relaxing for a demon like itself to look at them.
"And when you're sleepy and tired," Reagan continued, "you're probably looking for a place to rest. You just need a nice place to rest in." Patrazu looked at the lights. It would be nice to rest for a bit. It WAS tired.
Reagan confidently opened the pocket watch clasp. "Go into the light, demon," she said, indicating the center. "You can rest here."
Patrazu helplessly felt itself falling in...in...in...
Teenage Reagan walked into the school.
A girl stared at her enviously.
A cute boy fell at her feet.
She ignored them both.
Instead, she tapped the lucky demon-powered pendant around her neck. With its' magic, she knew she ruled the school. Nothing could stop her.
All she had to do was wear her very favorite possession.
