Kayla stared at the razor. For the past five minutes, she'd been trying to use it, or to get up and put it away. She hadn't succeeded at either.
A knock on the bedroom door startled her out of her stupor. A voice called out to her, gently but hesitantly. "Can I come in?"
"Um, sorry, hold on just a sec--okay."
Erin opened the door to find her wife on the edge of their bed, staring at her feet and shivering.
"Sweetie, what's wrong?"
"It... it just hurts, you know? The pandemic and the quarantine? We never leave the house, and I miss my friends, and..."
"Shh, it's alright." Erin sat down next to Kayla and put her arms around her wife's waist. "The rule is that you tell me when you feel like this, remember?"
"It's okay. I'm here now."
"Are you ready?"
Kayla nodded again.
"Drop for me."
Kayla's body flopped down onto the bed. The fear on her face melted away into a calm, vacant stare.
"Until you wake up, when I touch you, you'll feel everything ten times as intensely. Ten times the sensation, ten times the pleasure... ten times the pain. Do you understand?"
"Yes," Kayla muttered.
Erin grinned. "Then let's have some fun, my love."
