A transformation story about kelly, a graduate engineer starting her work in a skincare company called O-Zone

Kelly stood before a tall building, a few floors of floor to ceiling darkened glass windows. The first floor had a white and pink sign on top of it saying “O-Zone: Transform Yourself”. It was her first day on the job, and she was supposed to meet her superior for a small tour to get familiar with the place before going out for a month of training. O-Zone was a skincare company, specializing in treatments using ozone chambers. Kelly was hired as a product tester in the R&D department, not a lab-rat but rather an engineer tasked with making sure the products were working.

Kelly pushed the right side of the double glass door and stepped inside, walking towards the very smiley receptionist. The receptionist turned to her: “Welcome to O-Zone! You must be the new hire! Your boss, Dr. Evans, is waiting for you in her office. Take the elevator to the fifth floor and go straight down the hallway” she said while pointing at the grey elevator doors in the middle of the shiny white lobby. Kelly took the elevator to Dr. Evans’ office floor and went down the hall. She reached a grey door with some pink stripes and a sign saying “Dr. Evans- CTO” and knocked on the door three times.

“Come in!” she heard a voice from the other side of the door, a slightly deep but very clear voice. She pushed the door and entered the office, greeted by the look of a slightly tall woman in a tight shiny white blouse, with puffed sleeves. Her smooth black hair reached her shoulders and framed her slightly light and well-defined face perfectly. Her plump lips were neon pink and shiny. Her look almost matched the general vibe of the building, but she seemed a bit more complicated than the rather monotone white aesthetics. Her office was also mostly white, it had a desk with pink LED lighting underneath and a computer monitor above it. It had the O-Zone logo on it but it also had a small sticker next to it as if it covered something. Dr. Evans signed her to sit down in a chair next to the chair as she typed a few things on the keyboard.

“Welcome, Kelly” Dr. Evans said with her crystal clear voice. “I have your file in front of me, we will go over a few details so I get to know you better and then I’ll show you around your department. If you like robotics you would really like your job”. Robotics were her forte, she was an engineer and her final project was a robotic arm that knew how to do card tricks. “So I see you finished your degree last year, what class did you like the most?” “Intro to Robotics. It was pretty much my dream class, it really organized my knowledge into a profession.” “good! And for how long do you see yourself working in the field?” “Well, a few years for a start, but if I like it I might just stay in R&D for a few more years” “oh I’m sure you will like it here. Let’s get to it and show you our facility and where you will be working.” Dr. Evans said while standing up, revealing a matte black skirt reaching her knees. She walked with intention towards the door, her low heels clicking on the floor, indicating a manager now but an engineer inside, still not really used to the office attire and leaning towards a more comfortable outfit.

The elevator took you both two floors down and opened to a large hall filled with whirring machines and osciloscopes connected to what looked like O-Zone’s newest generation of ozone chambers. Dr. Evans led the way into the hall, explaining about the department and their newest tech: “We are currently trying to find a new combination of gasses for our chambers. We want to incorporate pheromones into the mix to soothe our patients. We discovered being tense makes the treatment less affective. We know some patients are claustrophobic or just nervous so we included some relaxing substances in the new mix, nothing too potent or with lasting affects, but it still requires testing, which is where you come in.” Dr. Evans introduced you to Dr. willson, your direct supervisor and left. Dr. willson seemed more on the comfortable and practical side of the outfit scale compared to Dr. Evans, but with the same white-shiny style.

Dr. Willson introduced herself as a biomechanical engineer, she has been working in O-Zone for 10 years now. She started out as a product tester as well, and got promoted into the chamber section head last year. Dr. Willson showed you their newest chamber, a white tube, abuot 2m high with pink accents. It had a door at the front with a big rubber seal, and a control panel on the side, above a white 10L gas tank with “O-Gas V3.5” written on it, with another suspicious white sticker on the left side of the inscription. “This is the third generation O-Chamber” Dr. Willson explained. “As a product tester you will be tasked with making sure this chamber works before we release it to our clinics around the country. But before all of that, would you like to try it yourself?” Kelly never really kept a skincare routine, but it didn’t make sense to work on it without experiencing it herself. She also found the relaxation promise tempting, as she was quite nervous from the entire experience so far and the totally white environment felt more like a madhouse than an R&D workshop. “Yeah sure, seems appropriate to try it before working on it, maybe I can even find some flaws.” Dr. Willson handed her a pair of pink scrubs and kelly went to the bathroom, which conveniently had a changing booth, suggesting this was probably more than a seldom activity for department employees. She changed quickly and shoved her old clothes hastily into her backpack.

Dr. Willson helped kelly into the chamber, which felt quite soft, with an easy to clean leather cushion back, slightly leaning back so the patient could rest on it. Kelly now noticed some features she could not see with the door closed, namely some padded straps for the legs, thighs, chest, hands and wrists. “these straps are meant to hold the patients in place so they can fully relax and not bang their head against the door if their legs get… too relaxed” Dr. Willson explained, with a slight smile while closing the buckles. “The O-Gas is a bit more potent in terms of relaxing the patient, but it contains less ozone by volume and thus the treatments are a bit longer, but more enjoyable. The bottom of the chamber has a scale to make sure the chamber is not overdosing the patient with relaxation gas so they wouldn’t lose conciouseness. The chest strap has a few electrods and sensors to monitor breath and heartrate, to make sure the patients are fine while the transformation takes place.” That wording, ‘transformation’ seemed weird. Kelly expected Dr. Willson to stick to some more professional terms and stay away from the marketing language, but dismissed it as a way to assure her she can trust the machine. After a few tweaks the door closed with a hiss and a click indicating a bolt locking the door to prevent leaks.

The thick door silenced the sounds of 3D printers and small milling machines crafting parts for other prototypes and machines. The chamber itself was warm and quite soft, the initially cold leather surface was now warm from Kelly’s body touching it, and the straps were holding her in place, not tight but noticable. Dr. Kelly spoke into a microphone on the control panel, barely visible through the window “I’m initiating the treatment now, keep breathing normally and just relax.” Kelly heard a dim sound of gas leaking into the O-Chamber, and a faint sweet smell. She was familiar with the pungent smell of ozone as it was formed every time one of her projects short circuited and the electrical breach ionized the air. The O-Gas smelled sweet, definitly better than ozone, which she assumed would not be fun to smell for the entire treatment. Kelly took a deep breath, trying to pinpoint the exact smell and its source, as the first wave of relaxation hit her, making her legs fumble a bit.

Kelly felt her eyes relax a bit, slightly closing while she kept on breathing as instructed. After a bit she heard another hiss around her head, and within a few breaths she was already hanging on the straps, her body quite limp and her head dizzy, barely able to think about how the O-Gas affects her. A weak sound emerged from the speakers around her, filling her mind and making her focus. Then one word, spoken in Dr. Evans clear voics: “BLANK”. Her head cleared up, only the background sound remained. She was staring at the door in front of her, not even aware of the emergency exit instructions written under the window she was staring at. Another hiss and she became completely limp, her head dropped, her jaw slackened and she lost control.

Dr. Willson took a peak through the window of the chamber, slightly grinning. Her latest subject was now a blank slate, waiting for further processing. The next step is to prepare Kelly for her conversion. Dr. Willson lowered the O-Gas concentration to wake Kelly up a bit. The backrest of the chamber had a layer of rubber underneath the leather, allowing Dr. Willson to inject her subjects without a gas leak. She prepared a small vial with a black substance on the small table under the control panel while waiting for Kelly to wake up. 5ml of that substance was all that she needed. These were nanites suspended in spinal fluid. She went around the chamber and guestimated where Kelly’s spine would be. Kelly felt a sharp pain for a seond, and then warmth spreading from it. The warmth reached her stomech, then expanding towards her limbs and making them stiffer, although her head was still tilted to the side and pretty much empty. As the warmth reached up into her neck her head tilted back up, straightening. Her jaw tensed back up, her mouth in a slight grin. Then the warm reached her eyes, causing her eyelids to open back up and her eyes to stare ahead at the window. The warmth progressed and emptied her mind completely, feeling her thoughts that were pushed aside by the O-Gas escape her head completely before the warmth completely surrounded her. The wrist and foot straps unbuckled automatically, leaving her standing in the chamber, hands to her sides.

The window became opaque, and a spiral appeared, spinning in shades of pink. Kelly’s gaze locked onto its center. Words she couldn’t comprehend were whispered into her mind by Dr. Evans’ voice, the warmth now connected her directly to the chamber without the need for a speaker. Some words appeared at the edges of the spiral, barely seen as she was staring at the center of it. The chest strap started massaging and stimulating her breasts, the thigh straps giving slight electric stimulations as well. After some time she was not able to quantify (nor did she want to do so) a bright message appeared on the window: “IT IS UNIT K311Y” as its mind filled with the words “it, it, it, it, it will obey” over and over again.

The straps let go and the door opened, introducing unit K311Y to its creator. Dr. Evans and Dr.Willson looked up and down again and again at their new subject, appreciating its blank and stiff body. “Unit K311Y online and ready to obey” it said in a monotone voice. “Unit K311Y, walk to your conversion station.” The unit obeyed, and walked down the hall to the area designated in its programming, the two scientists following it. At the convesion station awaited several devices: a pair of clear latex sheets on a pair of hanging frames, a mask with a visor, a probe, an arm with a weird wand-like device, a pair of sprayers and another control panel that had “HYPNO-Zone” written at the top. The unit stood with its back to one of the latex frames, the probe hanging behind the frame, threatening to take over the unit.

Dr. Willson pushed a big button to initiate the final conversion process. The drone did not seem to move as the two latex sheets were sprayed with glue and then pressed against each other, sealing it between them. The frames applied vacuum, tightening the sheets to each other and around K311Y, hugging its curves. The sheets were heated to set the glue. Dr. Willson cut the latex around its creation using a scalpel in an experienced motion, it was not the first time she had done it. The glue dissolved the scrubs, leaving the drones body exposed yet covered by the latex. The probe connected to the base of the unit’s skull, pumping more nanites. The clear latex showed its veins, fingertips and eyes becoming black as the nanites completely took over. A small amount of nanites bunched up above its crotch to write its designation. Another bigger group formed the pleasure apparatus around its crotch and breasts, some more nanites filled its skull and created a processor and the rest filled its body to keep it fed and running. The black veins and eyes faded, making it look like a slightly shiny human when clothed.

Its eyes fluttered and rolled back for a few minutes as the probe pumped information into its processor while the wand vibrated on its crotch, conditioning the act of obedience to pure pleasure, because despite not necessarily needing the reward to obey, research found that units tend to obey better and decay slower, all the while staying blanker when rewarded by pleasure. After its eyes rolled back, the mask was placed on its face, sealing it inside.

The drone was now an object, its body is no longer an empty husk, it was filled with nanites and purpose. Its designated user, Dr. Willson looked at it, appreciating her work. It was the first of a third generation of drones she developed, meant to be a perfect employee and help her test the new chambers. “K311Y move back to the lab and shutdown in your standby station.” The designated user ordered and the unit moved automatically to its station. As it reached its destination, unit K311Y entered its default position, hands to the sides of its body and legs stiff. Its processor shut off, as Kelly opened her eyes, laying in her bed.

The end

I left it up to the reader to decide if it was all a dream, a hypno conversion file similar to the basic conversion file of Unity Industries or if Kelly was eventually returned to her former life after being converted. Choose whatever you like best. I also tried to incorporate some pictures to illustrate the logos and the stickers, but the clankers (gemini and other AI models) did not cooperate and all I got was the first picture. Maybe a story in a future competition will include more pictures when AI models evolve some more.
