Things are awkward between a pair of roommates due to a failed hypnosis attempt by one of them. The hypnosis attempt failed. It definitely did not work. And even if it did it probably wouldn’t even feel that good…

My first commissioned story, commissioned by the wonderful Dibocukres!

"Hey, Erin... I... Uh... Need to study a bit more for the final tomorrow... Would you mind taking out the trash tonight? ...That'd be golden of you..." Erin quietly stared over at Miriam for a few moments, her roommate nervously grinning at her. Eventually, she nodded slowly. "Alright, fine... I guess I could do that..." Miriam smiled, relieved, and Erin couldn't help but smile too. Miriam's smile always made her feel a bit better. Even with how awkward things felt after... What happened Wednesday night...

They'd both been absolutely exhausted last night, Erin having had one of the busiest shifts in months and Miriam having crammed for her Psych final all day. So they were both relaxing on the couch, Erin barely keeping herself awake, when she saw a gentle green glimmer fluttering before her eyes. She was too tired to realize what was happening at first, and her sleepy mind enjoyed the rhythmic, soothing motion to lock onto. It was nice to let her mind drift for a bit as she watched the green crystal swing back, and forth... Back, and forth... The motion was the only thing keeping her eyes from closing entirely as she slowly began to sleep... The soft, dulcet tones of Miriam's voice snaking in through her ear, telling her to keep watching, telling her to become sleepy, telling her to... And then it finally clicked what was happening.

Erin probably overreacted, but she was panicking. She'd hurled herself off the couch, almost breaking her nose and knocking Miriam over. The crystal pendant was yanked out of Miriam's hand, and the chain shattered everywhere. Erin stared at her roommate, wild-eyed. "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT ABOUT?!" Miriam looked up, her beautiful green eyes filled with tears. "I-I'm sorry, I... I was just reading about it all day, and... I wasn't thinking, I'm sorry Erin! I didn't mean to-" But Erin was already storming back to her bedroom, unwilling to hear her out. How could her roommate do that?! That was... a huge invasion of privacy! Or... Consent! Or something! ...Even if it did feel g- No, it didn't! It was bad that Miriam did that to her without asking! A-And if she had asked... No, she needed to get her mind off of that! So she loaded up some podcasts and soon fell fast asleep, her anger subsiding a bit as she drifted off...

Miriam looked very happy as Erin got back Thursday evening, her movements quite graceful as she almost danced around the room in excitement. "Oh, hi Erin! I think I aced my Psych final~!" Erin smiled. Things still felt a bit awkward, but Miriam's beautiful smile was contagious. "That's great!" As Erin sat down, Miriam grinned mischievously down at her. "Don't you think I deserve a treeeat~? Like maybeeee... Someone driving me to my favorite ice cream spooot~? Because my car's in the shooooop~?" Erin couldn't help but laugh. "I'm sorry, no, I just got home. Maybe tomorrow?" Miriam pouted cutely and clasped her hands, her pretty green eyes wide and pleading. "Pweeeease? Pwetty pweeease? It'd be real golden of you..." Erin really wanted to rest, but... She couldn't say no to those puppy dog eyes... "Alright, fine, haha. Go get ready, it closes soon!" As Miriam happily bounded away, Erin smiled. It was so hard to say no to Miriam sometimes. There wasn't really a point in her hypnotizing Erin, she already liked making her happy anyway...

Erin was resting on the couch with Miriam again. Relaxing in a half-asleep daze, as the crystal began swinging again. Watching it swing back, and forth, and back, and forth... Letting her mind latch onto the rhythmic movements... Watching the gentle spin of the crystal as it reached each peak... She didn't have to think about anything but the swinging... Her mind not even drifting, but just locked on the mesmerizing crystal... Like it was the only thing that existed... Sounds snaked in through her ears... Soft, dulcet tones, slowly plunging her deeper into this warm, emerald sleep... She couldn't make out the words, but she knew the voice... Miriam, Miriam's soft voice filling her ears, Miriam's beautiful eyes becoming the crystal... Wait... No, this was a dream... This already happened... And she didn't like it... Remember...? She didn't like it... It was... Bad... She shouldn’t sink deeper into the hypnotizing green glow, shouldn’t let the soft dark voice wash over her... She shouldn’t... She should w... Wa... Wake u... Wake... Wake up!

Erin's eyes slowly opened. She felt so sluggish and sleepy... Was that a dream...? It was, right...? That was just Wednesday night again... She pushed herself up, her eyes focusing. They eventually revealed her bedroom, completely empty of anyone other than her... Of course it was a dream, the necklace had broken... Also eyes don't do that... That probably was a better indicator... But why was she dreaming about it? She... She hadn't liked it... Had she? Well... She did when she didn't know what was happening... It had felt nice... But her roommate messing with her mind was bad! Although, she did break out of it before she was sent to sleep... So Miriam couldn't have done anything to her. That was how it worked, right...? Yeah, probably... Whatever, she needed to get back to sleep. She had work tomorrow... And her podcasts lulled her to dreamless sleep once more...

It turned out Erin had forgotten about a holiday once again, so she got to be home all Friday. Not that she wasn't still active. She was happy to help Miriam with all the chores she normally had to do herself while Erin was away. It wasn't the most enjoyable tasks, but Erin was still feeling alright and fine. Miriam was so happy to have Erin helping her. And Erin liked making Miriam happy.  All the disgusting chores felt worth it to hear Miriam's musical giggle... Or see her beautiful smile... Or feel her wonderful green eyes gazing at her so appreciatively... Making Miriam happy made Erin happy... So Erin was happy to do whatever Miriam asked...

Erin was happy to do quite a lot to make Miriam happy, and soon the house looked cleaner than it ever had. Miriam smiled happily as Erin sat down, exhausted but happy. "Thanks so much for your help today, Erin! It's so much easier to think in a clean, tidy house like this." Erin smiled back, yawning. "Aaaaah, it's only fair... You do all this stuff while I'm at work normally, so I should help when I'm here... It's the right thing to do... Glad I could make you happy..." Miriam clasped her hands cutely. "Aww, I'm glad you think of me like that! Now, there's only one more thing left to do... Cleaning out the closet under the stairs..." Erin tensed up at the mere mention. She didn't even want to think about going in there... She couldn't...

Miriam sheepishly smiled at Erin. "A-aand, I... I've got some more studying to do! S-So... You can manage cleaning it out yourself... Right? I-I mean, there's barely anything in there! ...It'd be real Golden of you to do that... For me..." Erin's stomach churned at the thought of even looking into the closet... It was the one thing Miriam had agreed she'd never need to do... But she Wanted to make Miriam Happy... She was a good roommate... Even if... If she could barely think... She was beginning to feel so dizzy, so unfocused from the stress... She felt so lightheaded... It hardly felt like she was even in her body anymore as she nodded to Miriam, a strained smile on her face. "Alright,  fine... I'll... Mhm...! Okay...! Happy...!" She nearly walked into the door as she walked down into the basement, barely able to control her body...

Erin stood before the closet door, her hands trembling. It was okay, she could go in, she'd be fine this time... She Should go in. She was a Good roommate. She must make Miriam Happy. She reach slowly towards the door... And felt something on her shoulder! She screamed, almost knocking over Miriam as she jolted back. "S-Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you! I... I-I remembered I already did the studying, hahaaa! S-Sooo I can help you clean!" Erin was still breathing shakily, and Miriam softly put her arms around her. "Shhh, it's okay, it's okay... Didn't mean to startle you... Just breeeeaaaathe deeeeeplyyyy... I'm here, you're fine..." Erin breathed deeply, feeling her heart rate begin to slow. She felt a lot calmer now that Miriam was here. Her soft and soothing voice helped to calm her fears... Her gentle embrace helped ground her... It felt nice... As her breathing returned to normal, Miriam quietly whispered. "You know, I think we need more garbage bags for this... It'd be so Golden of you to drive over town and get some..." Erin nodded, relaxing in her presence. She'd do anything for Miriam right now... Since she had helped her calm down... Especially something that gave her an excuse not to go in... There. "Alright, fine... I'll... uh, I'll go get it... Yeah... Thanks..." Miriam's smile made everything feel better. "Don't worry, I should have most of this done by the time you get back... You can just focus on getting the bags." Erin smiled shakily. "Yeah... See you in half an hour...!"

The drive to the store was relaxing, and gave Erin plenty of time to decompress. It wasn't surprising Miriam had aced her Psych final, she was great at helping people relax... Maybe a bit too great... She couldn't get Wednesday night out of her mind. It... She knew it was definitely bad. But it had felt so good... So calming... So pleasant... Why did Miriam even try to hypnotize her in the first place? It probably wasn't to make her into a mindless servant, at least. Not like that would even be necessary. She liked making Miriam happy of her own free will. And what would being hypnotized to do it even be like? Would she feel the calm, floating pleasure she felt on the couch that night every time Miriam told her to do something? Just obeying without consciously moving her body, floating sleepily and happily, not having to think at all... O-Or maybe it'd just be the exact same as it was right now except she couldn't disobey commands. That's probably it. Definitely not a desirable thing, being hypnotized to obey. Definitely not. Definitely.

Erin was back on the couch, watching the hypnotizing green light swinging back and forth. Back and forth, back and forth. It was so soothing... It felt so good to just let her mind drift... It... It was a dream again. Just like last night. She should wake up, it was wrong. She shouldn’t keep indulging in this. It was wrong. She should W... Wak... Wait... Why would it be wrong? Well, she'd  been hypnotized without her consent... But... She was lucid dreaming right now... So staying asleep, and indulging in this bliss... Was consent, right? Yeah, it was... So there was no reason for her not to relax into the couch... And follow the rhythm... And listen to the dulcet murmurs... And let herself be Hypnotized...

The light swung from eye to eye, spinning, sparkling... The world around her was dissolving into emerald bliss... And so was she... Every swing of the light sent a pulse of warm, sleepy happiness through her entire body... Every spin relaxed her even further... Every sparkle made her feel warmer... And it never stopped. Her body grew warmer and warmer as it relaxed more and more, and soon, she was melting... Her body, dissolving into warm clay for Miriam to mold as she wished... She felt hands all over her, squeezing her, mushing her body into nothing more than an amorphous blob... And it was WONDERFUL... Every sensation was bliss... All she could hear was the deep, relaxing murmurs of submission and obedience... All she could see was the swinging green light, brighter than anything she knew... The hands molded her, giving her dainty arms and legs, a cute maid outfit, making her the perfect servant, then smushed her again and reformed her into an airheaded beauty, then into a shy angel... It was as if she was modeling clay, being molded and remolded for fun, and it was the best thing she had ever experienced... She never wanted it to end... But suddenly, a horrible, shrill scream tore through everything. What was happening?! This was supposed to be bliss! This was her dream, she was in control! ...Oh... Right... A dream...

Erin sleepily opened her eyes, staring balefully at her alarm clock. She clumsily slapped it off with her amorphous arm... No, it was normal... Still felt amorphous... Ughhhh, she didn't want to wake up... Wait... It was... Sunday, right? She was off yesterday... Yeah... So she could just... Fall... Back... Asleeeee...

She was no longer in her bedroom, or even in any physical room. When had her lovely hypnotist grown so large...? She was carrying Erin lovingly over the pains of the earth, holding the blissful clay in her palms... Molding her again and again and again, Erin enjoying every new, ever stranger form... She must enjoy this as much as Erin did... And Erin could barely even think anymore... Was she in control of the dream anymore...? It didn't matter... She felt wonderful... So she stopped thinking, and succumbed to the bliss...

It was Saturday, not Sunday, but that didn't matter. Erin still stayed in bed til 1. That was the best dream she had ever had... She never wanted to wake... She wanted to feel like that all the time... Well... She could, maybe... No, that wouldn't... Well... She could...? No, it'd feel so awkward to ask! And after what happened last time, Miriam might be afraid she'd break away again... And maybe real Miriam wouldn't be a good a... A Mistress... as Dream Miriam... But she trusted her roommate... She liked her smiles, and her laughs... She already obeyed her of her own free will, of course, so being hypnotized to do so... It'd  just be better, right? But... So awkward though... Should she...?

Miriam was eating supper in the living room by the time Erin finally emerged. She smiled awkwardly as Erin sat next to her. There was a long silence before Erin finally spoke up. "S-So... Uh... About what happened..." Miriam nodded solemnly. "Yeahhh... I'm sorry, I know it was a really awful thing for me to do, but..." Erin shook her head. "No, it's... It's fine... I actually kinda liked it... A-And I broke away before I was actually in a trance, so... No harm done, really..." Miriam looked a bit surprised and started giggling nervously. "O-Oh yeah, of course...! Yeah, you broke away from the hypnosis so no lasting effects, y-yeah... Hahaaa... Uh, l-look, I-" Erin softly interrupted her. "I-It's fine... The only problem was that I... That I hadn't known you were doing it... A-And... I... W-Well... I... I... I'd know this time... I-If you're... If you want to..." Miriam's beautiful green eyes grew wide. "You... You're asking me to hypnotize you?" Erin blushed. "Y-yeah... I-I mean... I-It's not like it'd make a difference much... I already like doing what you say haha..." Miriam stared for a while, and Erin was beginning to worry that she'd massively overstepped her boundaries when Miriam's sweet laughter made everything better. "Alright! If you're suure, roomie~!" Erin nodded, relieved and exhilarated. "Y-Yeah... Of my own free will, I consent..." Miriam giggled and removed her necklace. "Then just waaaatch the preeeettyyy necklaaace swiiing~"

Erin happily watched the necklace swing back and forth, back and forth... Letting her body relax, letting her mind drift... Letting herself melt... She felt a bit disappointed that it wasn't as nice as her dream though... The rhythm wasn't quite as perfect... And Miriam also seemed a bit disappointed... "Ngh, not used to leather... Shoulda just waited for another chain..." She sighed, then giggled slightly. "I guess I'll just gottadropittden..." Erin sleepily murmured. "Whah...?" Miriam giggled. "I said, 'I guess I've just got to DROP!" The crystal suddenly vanished from before Erin's eyes as Miriam pushed the back of her head forward, and everything was Green. Miriam's beautiful green eyes suddenly filled every part of Erin's mind. And her mind just stopped. It was like she was in a car that had braked suddenly, and now she was floating mindlessly in her overwhelming green gaze... She fell limp, and as Miriam crooned, "It'd be reeaal golden of you to Sleeeep for me~", Erin instinctively murmured something before being plunged entirely into that deep, relaxing bliss of hypnotic sleep... It didn't feel exactly like her dream... But she was still being held in Miriam's hands... And that was all that mattered... Miriam was happy... And so was Erin... So Erin... Just... Slept...
