While attempting to sneak into a top-secret facility, Elizabeth discovers two women doing the same. She takes advantage of their own plans to sneak in, but she certainly doesn’t want them to notice her, because there’s something about them that feels off…

I wrote this story a few years ago, very loosely based on some bestiary descriptions that were generated while I was messing around with NovelAI. Now, to be clear, no AI was used in the actual story, or ANY of my writing for that matter, and I also have quit using AI entirely at this point, but that is where the idea originally came from. Regardless of the origins, I do think it's a decent story.

Elizabeth hid behind the trees, watching the two women walk up to the building. She was intensely careful not to move or make a sound, as not to alert them. They might not be associated with the facility, but she'd rather not get caught trespassing regardless. Although, they seemed awfully calm walking towards the guarded door. Maybe they did work there? She inched closer, taking advantage of a convenient patch of foliage to stay unseen as she watched them. The man guarding the door stopped them. "What are you doing here? This area is off limits to civilians." One of the women stepped forward. "We'd like to take a look inside, if you wouldn't mind." The guard shook his head curtly. "Civilians are not permitted within the building without explicit permission. Leave now, or you will be considered trespassing and dealt with accordingly." Seemingly unperturbed, the woman calmly removed her necklace. "Like I said, if you wouldn't mind. Just watch the pendant, now." She began swinging her necklace in front of his face.

"Lady, what are you doing? I..." He fell silent, his eyes glazing over as he watched the necklace. "That's right, just watch. So easy to watch it swing, so easy to let your mind fade." Elizabeth found her eyes attracted to the soft swinging motion. It felt so relaxing to watch, even from far away. "Every swing bringing you deeper, every turn making you sleepier, every glimmer making you happy and malleable. Let me put your conscious mind to sleep, so I may play with your deepest thoughts. Does that sound nice?" The guard nodded weakly, murmuring "yeah...", his eyes half closed. Elizabeth felt her own eyes drooping, but she forced herself to stay awake. Something about this seemed too weird to just let herself get caught up in. The woman put her necklace back on and began speaking in a soft, soothing voice. "Perfect. Now, listen closely. You will let us in the facility. You will tell us about the security measures in place. You will not tell anyone else about us. You will forget all about this meeting after we leave. You don't mind any of this, do you?" The guard shook his head, mumbling "No ma'am" in a dreamy voice. "Good boy. Now, about the security measures..."

Elizabeth shook herself out of her trance while the guard droned on about the security. She studied the two women as they stood there listening to him. The hypnotist was small and slender, and seemed oddly overdressed for a nighttime covert operation. In addition to her beautiful necklace, she wore a fine white dress with long black gloves and high heels, and her platinum blonde hair was pleated in an elegant braid. By contrast, her companion was tall and muscular, and her clothing looked like she would be more fit for a biker gang. She wore a sleeveless black leather jacket and thick studded gloves. Her black shorts were worn and ragged, with a long thread from the waistband hanging down. Her long red hair was rough and messy, and she had an impatient look on her face as the guard told her everything. Elizabeth tried to hear what he was saying, but he was speaking too quiet to make out anything specific.

After he finished, the hypnotist nodded. "Excellent news. It appears this will be much simpler than I thought. The door, please?" The guard dutifully turned to a keypad, punching in the code. The door opened, and the tall woman sighed loudly. "Finally! Why didn't you make him do that earlier, Lily? We don't need to know every little inch of this place!" The hypnotist, Lily apparently, clucked her tongue. "Always so impatient, Lucy. It's important we know what we're up against to minimize risk. We've waited so long for this, an extra few minutes won't mean much." The tall one, evidently Lucy, scoffed. "Whatever. Did he say where it was?" Lily shook her head. "Not precisely, but I can ascertain where it might be. We should deal with the security office first. I'm sure you'll enjoy that part." Lucy chuckled gruffly. "Yeah, I can't wait. Lead the way!" They entered the facility, closing the door behind them.

Elizabeth stayed hidden for a few more moments as she worked through what had just happened. Evidently these two, Lucy and Lily as they called each other, were looking for something. Lily seemed to be an expert hypnotist, and Lucy was probably the brawn to her brains. As she stared at the still partially hypnotized guard, she realized this might be her best chance of getting inside. She cursed herself for not paying closer attention to the code, but she had an idea. She stepped out of the bushes, attempting to look calm and collected despite her knees shaking. The guard noticed her and shone his flashlight in her eyes. "Hey...! What are you doing here...? Off limits to civilians...!" Elizabeth took a deep breath, cleared her throat, and began speaking in a soft, calm voice. "You will let me in." He blinked a few times, then shook his head. "No, sorry... Off limits to civilians..." She continued speaking, trying to match Lily's speech patterns as much as possible. "You will let me in the facility. You will allow me access." Her voice was clearly getting to him, but he still protested. "You need permission to enter... You're trespassing..." She walked up closer, almost whispering into his ear. "Your mistress wants me to join her. You will let me join her." His eyes returned to a half closed state, and he slowly shuffled up to the keypad. He punched the code in, and Elizabeth made a mental note just in case. She walked up to the door, but before she entered, she pulled him close one last time. "Good boy. Now, you will forget I was ever here. Got that?" He murmured "yeah..." and wandered back to his post, still half asleep. Elizabeth snuck in and silently shut the door. She felt pretty proud of herself for that. Maybe she should look into becoming a hypnotist herself.

The facility looked a lot emptier than she'd always assumed. She thought there would be tons of people around, studying things, running weird experiments, moving strange artifacts, all typical secret facility stuff. Honestly, it just looked like a big office in places. Not much of note to look at, but she knew there had to be something important in here. Maybe all that stuff was deeper in the facility. As she snuck further in, she noticed an open door up ahead. She crept up to it, listening for any activity. It didn't seem like there was anything going on, so she slowly walked inside, climbing up a narrow staircase. At the top stood another door, left ajar like the entrance. Creeping up as stealthily as possible, she peeked inside the room, and was greeted with a scene of destruction.

Inside the cramped room, bodies were spread all over the floor. A wall was covered in destroyed monitors, and a control panel was sparking, having been smashed to bits. Elizabeth quickly looked around, but it appeared that whoever did this was no longer in the room. She examined the bodies, and noticed at least some of them breathing. It looked more like they had been knocked out, although plenty of them were bleeding quite profusely from gashes on their foreheads. Evidently, this was the security office that Lily had mentioned. And clearly Lucy had indeed enjoyed herself here. Elizabeth felt her knees grow weak again. She really didn't want to get on the wrong side of Lucy, seeing how she'd taken out a room full of guards. She considered leaving now, but this was a once in a lifetime opportunity. She'd just have to keep her distance from them. And if she got unlucky... Well, maybe she could parley with Lily? Maybe she'd be impressed enough by her cleverness to spare her life? She'd definitely accept being hypnotized over dealing with Lucy...

It became increasingly more evident where the pair had already been as Elizabeth continued through the halls. She'd spotted several people laying on the floor, some knocked out, some just sleeping. She considered flexing her secondhand hypnotism again, but decided against it. Even if she could make it work again, what use would it be? She doubted she'd be able to make someone spill all the secrets of the facility like Lily had. She just continued on down a long staircase, trying her best to cram down the fear rising in her at the sight of all the people Lucy had knocked out. She just had to be careful and avoid them as much as possible. Just as she was beginning to question the logic of following their trail, she saw two massive doors in the distance. A sign labeled 'Storage' sat above them. All her fear temporarily was replaced with intense curiosity. She had to see what was in there. She walked through the doors, and looked around in wonder.

Elizabeth was stood on a raised platform, rickety stairs leading down to the main floor. And as far as she could see were massive shelves, covered in all kinds of strange things. She climbed down the stairs, and stared in awe at everything. As she walked down the aisles, she could see things ranging from books to crystals to things in jars to cameras, and anything else she could think of. Tall ladders were propped against some shelves to allow access to the upper layers. Most items had tags underneath them to designate the area, but the names were all written in some for of shorthand. Gazing in awe up at the shelves, she almost tripped over something. She looked down, seeing another unconscious worker, a small line of blood trickling from their head. Next to them, an item had obviously been removed from the shelves, judging by the empty space above one of the tags, and the neighbouring items in even more disarray than usual. The fear began to creep back in, and she suddenly felt very alone and vulnerable in this massive room. Ahead, she could see that the shelves ended, and as she moved closer, she could hear voices. Two very familiar voices.

"How long is this going to take? I'm so bored!" Lucy's voice echoed across the massive room. Elizabeth could barely hear Lily's soft, quiet voice, and she started creeping closer. "...you didn't really need to knock them out. I could have handled it for you." Elizabeth walked as silently as possible, her footsteps not making a sound against the hard stone floor as Lucy yelled back. "I didn't mean to, they just startled me! And besides, it wasn't worthless! ...It's pretty, and it feels nice to hold!" Elizabeth could see them in the distance now. "Well, you can look at it to pass the time then. They should be back with the keys soon enough. Then we can leave." Lucy sighed dramatically. "Fine! I can't wait to get back home. I hate being so small and puny like this." Momentarily distracted, Elizabeth felt her foot catch on something. Startled, she looked down, seeing a rope hanging off one of the shelves. She made sure she didn't accidentally pull whatever it was hanging from down. Luckily, whatever it was seemed not to have moved. She carefully placed it back on the shelf, slightly nudging something else in the process. It wasn't enough of a nudge to worry about, so she continued creeping closer to hear to conversation. Five seconds later, a deafening racket erupted behind her, as one of the shelves emptied its contents onto the ground.

Elizabeth stood, petrified, as the two women looked up. She stared straight ahead, holding her breath as her heart beat rapidly, hoping they wouldn't see her in the darkness. She could see them looking in her direction, but they didn't seem to be looking right at her? Her mind raced through hundreds of terrifying possibilities as she thought about what they would do if they found out she was eavesdropping on their conversation. It was hard to focus on a coherent thought through all the panic rushing through her body. She felt an odd sensation as her mind flitted between thoughts, like she was being watched. Desperate, she silently willed them to just look away, to not investigate, to leave her alone. And as she watched, they turned away from her, back to the door. Lily began examining the lock, and Lucy started stretching. Relief and adrenaline flooded through her, and she finally let out a breath. She began to back away, keeping them in sight, when something strange began to happen to Lucy.

As Lucy stretched, her entire body seemed to stretch and deform, becoming longer, taller, and larger. Her muscles bulged and became bigger, and her hair grew even more long and wild. Her clothes seemed to melt into her body, like skin. They appeared to be spreading all over her body, causing her skin to become black and rough, almost like a lizard's scales. The loose thread became longer and thicker, until it resembled a massive tail, complete with a terrifying stinger on the end. The studs on her gloves grew massive, her hands becoming massive claws. A pair of large black horns emerged from her head, and a crimson glow began to shine from her eyes. Elizabeth was paralyzed in fear and wonder as the demonic Lucy stood before her. And then, she stared right at her.

Elizabeth tried to run, but with surprising speed for such a large creature, Lucy ran after her, grabbing her off the ground. She held her in the air with one clawed hand, too tight for her to wriggle out of. Elizabeth began sputtering in a panic, trying to save herself. "Please don't kill me, I didn't mean anything, I won't tell anyone, I'm sorry, I-" Lucy lightly squeezed her, knocking the breath out of her lungs, and laughed. Her voice was rough and demonic, seeming to echo within her mind. "Don't worry, I'm not gonna kill you. You're lucky. You get to be my pet. Just let my gaze melt your mind." Elizabeth glanced at Lucy's eyes, and suddenly found herself gazing into two deep, glowing pools of light. The light flooded her mind, filling her with calm obedience. She tried to resist, but Lily's soothing voice suddenly flowed through her mind. Just give in, Elizabeth. You wanted enslavement over death, did you not? Let your resistance go. You belong to Carelucek now, and to deny that would only deny you pleasure. Accepting her fate, Elizabeth let her mind be overtaken by the light, relaxing into Lucy's hand. It did feel good to relax.

Lucy laughed again. "There you go. Don't worry, it's not over yet! Look at my tail, pet!" elizabeth looked up, seeing Lucy's tail swinging back and forth above her. It reminded her of Lily's pendant. Then, it came down, jabbing her in the forehead. Immediately, her entire body was filled with red hot swirling pleasure. Every inch of her body felt like it was being submerged into a boiling whirlpool, but in the most pleasurable way. She let out an involuntary yelp, and Lucy chuckled. Her skin felt like it was burning under the pleasure. It started to become black and scaly, just like Lucy's. The swirling pleasure began to mix up her thoughts. Everything was boiled away in the bliss. Her life, her memories, her dreams, her desires, her name. It was so hard to think, but that's okay, because Mistress Lucy would tell her what to do. Mistress Lucy is so warm. Only Mistress Lucy matters. She cuddled up into Mistress Lucy's soft hand.

Mistress Lucy laughed and squeezed her softly. It felt so nice. Mistress Lucy went and sat down. "Ahh, that's better. It's been a while since I've gotten the chance to do that." Her friend spoke. Her voice was nice. "It is an interesting variation, seeing you make her a pet instead of a warrior. I suppose insane devotion to you works for both equally well. It is a shame though. Elizabeth was quite intelligent before your toxins. I would have liked her as a companion as well." Mistress Lucy growled. "Well, she's mine. You always grab a pet whenever we do one of these missions, so I deserve to have at least one. Isn't that right, Lizzy?" Lizzy squeaked happily. The friend sighed. "Yes, indeed. Although I prefer to keep my pets with at least a portion of their mind intact. Would you at least allow me to educate her a little?" Mistress Lucy sighed. "Fine. Just don't make her love you more than me, or else-" The friend spoke again. "Yes, yes, I will not sabotage you." Lizzy heard the friend's voice inside her head. Greetings again, Elizabeth. My name is Tsilili. You are Carelucek's loyal pet, and you have always been her loyal pet. I am your greatest companion, save for Carelucek. You love speaking with me, as much as you can speak. Where we are right now is not important. All you need to know, is that you're feeling very sleepy right now. Carelucek is so warm, is she not? Let your mind relax...

Lizzy felt so tired and sleepy. Lizzy cuddled up even cozier into Mistress Lucy's warm and soft hand. Mistress Lucy laughed. "Feeling sleepy, are you, Lizzy? Don't worry, I'll help make you comfy." Mistress Lucy put her other warm and soft hand of top of her. Lizzy started to fall asleep. Mistress Lucy pet her head. "My eyes will make you so much sleepier. Just stare, and melt..." Lizzy looked into Mistress Lucy's Eyes. Mistress Lucy's pretty eyes. Glowing red eyes. Warm. Soft. Cozy. Sleepy. Sweet dreams, Elizabeth... Friend Tsilili's voice is so soft. So nice. So cozy. So hard to stay awake. Time to sleep. Sleepy Lizzy...

The ending, with Elizabeth's intelligence being drained, isn't what I normally write, since intelligence reduction stuff tends to make me a bit uncomfortable (I was very impacted by reading Flowers For Algernon when I was younger lol). I did definitely imagine an alternate ending where Tsilili brainwashes her instead so she can keep her sharp intellect, but I think it's good for me to push my boundaries in writing once in a while (and plus, I don't feel like writing an entirely new ending).

The demon's names in the original story, as taken from the text that the AI spat out, were Lucifuge and Lilim, but I decided to change them up since those names are very, very generic. And plus, I think it's a bit funnier this way, since I imagine most people would expect their names to still be derived from Lucifer and Lilith, so it's a bit of a twist when it turns out they're just completely different names.
