Hello everyone! I hope you enjoy the chapter! I'd like to let you know that I have a ko-fi. You can give me money if you like my words!

Carina had compiled herself a new datapad and logged in. She would need to find some way of beating Callie’s damn biorhythm, or she wouldn’t make it out of here without a collar around her neck. The thought of being led along by Callie on a leash made her shiver, but she quickly put the thought out of her mind. She didn’t want to be a pet!

The overnet being what it was, was a place filled with information that may be of use, but none of it really made much sense. Most of it said that you flat-out couldn’t resist an affini’s biorhythm, but that didn’t make much sense. There had to be some way… It took awhile, but she eventually found something, a paper written by a floret owner pair, a Thatch Aquae and a Katie Aquae, Second Floret.

While it was obviously written by a floret and her owner, which wasn’t a good sign, it was fairly detailed and overall scientific, and Thatch herself was a fairly qualified bioengineer; their other papers went into extensive detail on projects working with a biorhythm so if anything this was perhaps the most qualified source she had yet. Apparently, trying to force your body into its own ‘anti rhythm’ really helped with resisting the siren call of an affini biorhythm. She basically ignored the rest of the paper after that, just to see if it would work.

Callie was right next to her, so it was easy enough to test… all she had to do was try to lose herself in the biorhythm, then test out trying different things, tapping her feet irregularly, breathing in irregular patterns, doing the opposite of what the biorhythm was telling her to do. Carina began listening in, letting the affini’s biorhythm fall over her, she began to breathe in consort with it, and almost immediately, she was completely lost. She tried her best to breathe in random patterns, but she couldn’t help herself; it was just far too easy to sink.

She stared up at the pretty plant and drooled slightly as she began to nuzzle against her. She was desperate for headpats and snuggles now. She wanted to be closer to her plant's warmth, wanted to feel the electricity of her touch. She desperately tried once more to breathe out of rhythm, to fight it, but she just wasn’t that willful, even less so when the plant’s hand came to scratch her head, giving her wonderful feelings all over.

Callie took a look over at Carina’s datapad and began giggling. “Trying to find ways to resist me, are you, little petal?”

Carina mewled as she leaned into the pats. “Such a cute little independent terran you are~”

Carina was cute! Callie called her cute! She let out a moan as she wrapped her arms around the plant, not wanting to ever let go. Resistance to this was pointless! She was but a single drop in the sea that was Callie, and she didn’t even want to go against the tide anymore.

“Good girl~, sinking so easily for me~,” Callie said, scritching her under the chin.

She was a good girl! Carina let out a rather needy moan at that. Perhaps it would be ok. She could just become Callie’s pet and feel like this forever and ever. Never having to come up and think about hard things like independence ever again. Just a collar around her neck telling her she was owned and that all she had to worry about was being a silly little pet! Wouldn’t that just be wonderful?

“Now be honest with me, dear. Do you want to be my pet?” Callie asked in her beautiful voice.

“Y-yessssssss…” Carina replied, completely lost in the plant.

“Well, while I would love to have you as my cute little familiar, I think that we could have a bit more fun with this, don’t you think? It’s quite sad that it would be over this soon, we have a full two weeks to slowly whittle you down, and I intend to utilize every second of it.”

Oh, by the stars, that was hot. Carina shivered as she thought about it. She wanted to well and truly break her, whittle her down until she was begging, but how would she do that? She was so weak! Callie seemed to see it in her eyes and smirked.

“Well, let's look at it this way, from this point forward, you are well and truly mine, but…. look into my eyes, dear~,” Callie said, and Carina obeyed; the eyes were beautiful speckled orbs, and they began to bring her down further. “Now, I’m not done playing with you yet, my little hypnoslut~, so we’re going to have a little fun. I’m going to give you that resistance you desire so much, the ability to resist my call, just so when I break you, you will do so utterly and completely. Does that excite you, my familiar-to-be?”

Carina moaned, nodding in affirmation. Callie chuckled. “Well then, sink for me, my petal, and I will see you when you wake up~”

Carina sank like a rock.

Carina woke up on the couch to wonderful smells coming from the kitchen. She didn’t quite remember falling asleep, but that was fine. It wasn’t anything she really needed to concern herself with. She would be stuck in here for quite a while. A little sleep wouldn’t hurt. All the more important, her resistance worked! That Thatch lady and her pet really knew what they were talking about. There was absolutely nothing that could stop her now!

She hopped over to the kitchen counter and desperately tried to climb up onto the stool to no avail. She groaned in frustration as she couldn’t climb, far too weak and short to get any purchase. Callie giggled as she helped the terran up, smiling as she placed out some kind of chicken dish.

“Did you sleep well, petal?” Callie asked, a slightly smug smirk on her face.

“I slept really good, actually. That couch was really comfy. I barely even remember when I fell asleep!”

Callie smiled. “That’s wonderful dear, now I hope my cooking skills haven’t faltered since the last time I had a floret. It would be a shame to make you genuinely sick.”

Carina chuckled as she used her utensils to cut the food in front of her, and after one bite, she couldn’t help but moan at the taste. She knew affini tended to be good cooks, but this was far too much. She began to absolutely devour the meal in front of her and quickly noticed that she was able to subtly resist Callie’s biorhythm. All she had to do was control her breathing, and it was like it wasn’t even there!

“I see you are trying out methods to resist my biorhythm. That’s very smart, petal, seeing as you so clearly want to remain independent.” Callie said.

Carina couldn’t shake the feeling that there was a bit of predatory amusement in that statement, but she pushed it out of her mind. It was probably nothing. She just fell asleep while researching on the couch, and Callie had gone to do something else. There was nothing to worry about as it was.

She was going to remain independent if it killed her! Carina wasn’t some weak hopeless thing who was just waiting for some hot affini to swoop her up and domesticate her! She was an independent virologist who loved her work more than anything! She would make it through this damn quarantine without even thinking about calling the damn plant with her something silly like mistress or even the dreaded mommy. She was above such things, a true independent terran if there ever was one!

She finished her delicious meal made by her affini, not mistress, and hopped down from the stool. She checked the clock on the wall and realized that it wasn’t late enough to go to bed yet. Carina smiled.

“Thank you for the meal, Callie!”

“No problem at all, petal. I believe we should try to do an activity together. Perhaps watch TV?” Well, Callie was her friend, and she was going to be spending two weeks with her, so what the hell! It wasn’t like she was going to be sinking any time soon! That would be absolutely preposterous with her new methods!

She hopped her way over to the couch and was helped up by Callie, who quickly turned on some affini documentary about the history and uses of the terran bed. Most of them were, in fact, sexual in nature. It was part documentary, part infomercial, and it was quite fascinating to see. Apparently, beds were getting quite popular in the rest of the compact.

“Is the bed really that interesting of a concept?” Carina asked.

“Oh yes, it’s quite interesting. The concept of an elevated platform for sleeping isn’t necessarily new, but the mattress and all the cultural hangups about the bed are extremely unique! They are even getting popular in aquatic systems and stations.”

“Also, they’re good for sex, apparently.” Carina said, giggling.

“Yes, and all those fun cultural implications about ‘sharing a bed’ and all~” Callie said.

Carina gulped. Right, they were going to be sharing a bed, and there was no way that she could keep up her resistance while sleeping. Not to mention that she knew just as well as any human that sleeping with somebody or something was a fast track to getting very attached. This wouldn’t be fun, but she supposed she could let it slide. It wasn’t like she had any intention of sleeping on the couch. For some reason, it was just a tad bit uncomfortable to her taste. She couldn’t exactly place why. It was just some gut feeling that the couch would be a terrible place to sleep, and she would be much more comfortable in Callie’s arms.

The documentary went on for quite a while, and Carina eventually found that the hab was getting rather cold for some reason. She wasn’t sure why, but she ended up having to snuggle up against Callie in order to feel warm enough, and Callie was, in fact, very warm. The warmth filled her as it ebbed and flowed, but it had much less power over her than it did before using her new techniques. However, she did feel herself slipping slightly as the warmth overtook her, there was definitely that desire to just sink, but she could overpower it for now.

“Is there any particular reason it’s so cold in here?” Carina asked.

Callie shrugged. “It isn’t that cold. I would say it’s about 70 degrees Fahrenheit.” She said, smiling.

That couldn’t be right. “It definitely can’t be that warm. I’m freezing my butt off here.”

“Well, you could certainly just remain cuddled into me, cutie. Affini are quite warm!”

“Yeah, I figured out that much you dolt!”

Carina felt once again this smug aura emanating from Callie as if there was some joke going on that she wasn’t party to, but that was ridiculous. Callie wouldn’t mess with her like that. She was very trustworthy and would do nothing to hurt her. Once again, she wasn’t quite sure why she felt this way, but it was just something that came from deep inside her. Sure, Callie may have been the type to play pranks on people, but certainly not her.

Eventually, however, the documentary ended after about three hours, and Carina let out a yawn. In her sleepiness, the desire to simply sink into the affini grew a bit stronger, a bit harder to ignore, but she practiced her breathing and managed to push it into the back of her mind for now. The plant, for what it was worth, acknowledged her and smiled.

“I think it’s about time we got to bed, cutie. Luckily for you, I compiled you pajamas!” Callie said.

They were not, in fact, normal pajamas. They had cute little flowers all over them and were almost certainly designed for florets, but Carina just assumed that was because all that was programmed into the compiler. It wouldn’t be beyond the affini to simply forget to program clothes for normal people, and Callie certainly wasn’t trying to imply anything by this. Why would she? It would be absolutely ridiculous for her to be implying anything of the sort. She was an independent terran, and Callie respected that!

Carina began changing while Callie watched with an amused look on her face. It wasn’t like she particularly minded the plant seeing her body. It was a completely normal thing for platonic roommates to do. Carina was once again not really sure why she felt this, but her gut feelings were rarely wrong, and this just felt right.

She respected it so much, in fact, that Callie picked her up and pulled her off to the bathroom. “It’s time to brush your teeth!”

Yeah, of course, she needed to brush her teeth. This felt like a completely normal thing to do, at least until Callie didn’t let her go.

“Uh, I need to be let go to brush my teeth, Callie.” Carina said, grimacing.

“No, I will be brushing them for you, your last dental checkup went rather poorly, and I simply don’t trust you to do it yourself.”

Oh, yeah, that made sense. Nothing strange about that at all, plus the bathroom was even colder than the living room, and being held against Callie meant she could be warm. That was fine. Independent terrans got their teeth brushed all the time!

Callie put some toothpaste on one of her vines and forcibly shoved the thing into Carina’s mouth. Carina felt the same electric sparks flutter across her body, and any attempt at resisting the plant's biorhythm was gone. She sank like a stone and began moaning like a needy pet as the vine brushed over her teeth and gums.

It was bristled like a toothbrush and was absolutely brutally efficient in getting into all of the spots she was bad at getting herself. Carina felt her mind slip further and further away into abject pleasure as her teeth were brushed, and it was honestly one of the most erotic things the poor girl had ever experienced. What else was one supposed to do to resist this?

She squirmed and rubbed her legs together, her mind screaming out for more physical contact, for more of whatever this was, but her desires went unanswered because soon it was all over.

“Spit~,” Callie said, and Carina obliged, rubbing up against her plant, lost in her rhythm. “Good girl~”

Those words sent electricity down the poor human's spine, and before she knew it she was being brought over to the bed. The hot sexy plant she shared a bed with climbed into bed with her, and Carina snuggled in. She could get used to this. The biorhythm made it so easy for her to just begin drifting off.

She tried to think of things beyond how wonderful Callie was, she tried to find any possible way to resist this sinking feeling, but she couldn’t really find any way to care. She was happy like this, blissed out of her mind and relaxing into the plant next to her. Maybe she could- No! She was an independent terran who definitely didn’t want to be a pet. She felt that adamantly. She wouldn’t break yet! She wasn’t ready for mistress. She didn’t want to be a pet!

She did, however, let the rhythm drag her off to sleep, her mind filled with the affini’s biorhythm.
