The Long Road Ahead
Chapter 2

The tournament came and went, and overall it was a pleasant experience. Morgan did well enough to make the day 1 cut and move on to day 2. Leah-when she wasn’t occupying herself with the small arcade-spent the time on Google, looking through guided meditation, hypnosis, anything that would point the girl in the right direction of what she was after. What exactly that was though, she was unsure of. It was crazy what happened on the drive here. What was crazier was her reaction to it. Yes, it left her panicked, but through all that, she had to admit she liked it....a lot. Holding her friend’s focus like that, being able to make her do anything she asked....it felt good. Really good. She wanted to do it again. She also had to be careful about it. She of course didn’t want to hurt or scare Morgan. They were friends after all. She wouldn’t want to mess that up by any means.
“Leah!” Morgan called out next to her, snapping her out of her addled thoughts.
“Yeah? Sorry” Leah sat up and sat her phone down and swung her legs off her bed in their hotel room to face her friend.
“Are you ok? You’ve been buried in your phone since the ride to the hotel.”
“Yeah, I’m ok, I promise, just deep diving into my video games is all.” She smiled at Morgan, knowing she wouldn’t ask further. She liked video games, but not as much as Leah does.
“Okay...well, I’m gonna head down to the pool. Wanna join?”
Leah was going to say no, Morgan knows she doesn’t swim, but she also didn’t wanna spend the entire weekend in the room looking through her phone. “You know what, sure. That sounds good.”
Morgan changed into her swimsuit; a cool blue bikini with white polka dots. Leah looked her up and down and couldn’t help but admire her friend’s body. Her soft tan, long legs and solid B cup breasts showed she definitely took care of herself. Leah wasn’t attracted to her friend, but she also wasn’t oblivious to Morgan’s slender body.
Leah grabbed her shorts-jeans she cut the whole legs off of-and put those on. She took her shirt off before putting on her swimsuit top-a plain black piece with gold sequins on it, and putting her shirt back over it.
Morgan caught a look at her friend. “Ya know, you do look great. You shouldn’t be so hard on yourself.”
Leah smiled and subtly nodded at that. She wasn’t bad looking either. No tan like Morgan, but generous C cup breasts, wide hips, and somewhat thick thighs; she knew she looked good. She also knew she was her own worst critic, and sometimes having perspective from someone outside her own thoughts felt good.
The pool area was nice. Indoors, a full rack of towels at the exit wall, large size swimming pool, and a decently sized hot tub. Most importantly, it was empty, which meant the two of them could spend time enjoying the area without any annoyances.
Morgan kicked her sandals off and dove straight in. Leah chose to sit on the side and put her feet in the water. She took note of how cool the water felt on her legs while she watched her friend swim laps around the pool, and kicked her legs around, slowly stirring the water beneath her.
“Hey” Morgan swam toward her, putting her arms up on the side of the pool as she looked up at Leah. “Can I ask you something?”
Leah looked down at her friend. “Uh, sure, what’s up?”
Morgan bit her lip in hesitation, “What happened on the car ride?”
Leah froze. Her eyes went wide, but she looked away and tried to play the question off. “Umm, what do you mean? I drove you here after the gas station.”
“Well, yeah, I know that, but after that it’s all a blur.”
Leah looked back at Morgan. “Are you okay? You’re not usually one to have holes in your memory hon. What’s the last thing you remember? Maybe I can help fill in the blank or something.”
“Well, I remember leaving the station. I was getting really in my head, so you talked me down. Next thing I know, we’re at the alley.”
“Maybe I was so good you fell asleep? I don’t know.” She let out a half-hearted chuckle at that.
Morgan smiled a little, sighing at her friend’s cocky statement. She did enjoy hearing her talk herself up. “Since you’re so good at it apparently,” Morgan stuck her tongue out at Leah playfully, who reacted with a light laugh, “Do you think you could do it again?”
Leah froze. Her heart pounded against her chest, and she almost choked on her own breath as she gasped to herself. “W-what?”
“Could you. Do it. Again?” Morgan said, a bit slower this time
Leah stammered “B-but why?”
“I mean, why not? It did help, a lot. It’s not like you hurt me with it, and if I’m being honest, it felt good listening to you.”
Leah stayed silent. She couldn’t believe it. Okay, yes, she put the idea into her friend’s head about seeking her out for it to happen again, but she didn’t think it would actually happen.
Morgan continued. “Let’s be real; you know me. You know how competitive I am. You also know how ‘inside my head’ I get when that competitive switch is on. Whatever it was that you did to me, kept that from happening. If I’m going to do well and keep going all weekend....it wouldn’t exactly hurt.”
Leah sat back a bit, and thought to herself. Morgan did make sense with what she was saying. She was right about her competitive drive, and about getting in her own way, and about-wait...She wasn’t actually considering this, was she? Sure, it helped her out a lot, but last time was unintentional, an accident. Beneficial, yes, but an accident nonetheless.
“Okay....but not here.” Leah finally said. “We’ll go up to the room and do it there.”
Morgan smiled and nodded in agreement, then pushed herself up and swung her legs out of the pool, grabbing a towel. As she led her friend out of the pool area and to the elevator, Leah began to plan out the best way to go about the task laid before her.
