You meet Chloe for the first time and are hypnotized by her. Written from the reader’s perspective.

This story illustrates to the reader what it feels like to meet and be hypnotized by Chloe. The induction, if you choose to allow yourself to go under, will be effective. You’ll just float in a nice trance for a few and maybe leave a comment in the end. Anybody who does end up going under won’t feel any lasting effects besides being refreshed and energized, ready to take on the rest of their day~ And, if you choose not to go under, then that’s okay too. You can enjoy the story and have a good time~

Oh, hi there! You’re Beca’s friend, right?
 
She’s told me all about you. She likes you a lot!
 
She’s a little delayed, but she txt’ed me that she shouldn’t be more than an hour and a half late.
 
No, don’t be silly! Please, come in. Any friend of Beca’s is a friend of mine.
 
I was just about to make myself some tea. Would you like some? … Oh, it’s no trouble at all. Here you go.
 
I’m so glad you like it! I like a good tea. It’s such a simple luxury, but it makes a big difference for me.
 
So, how do you know Beca?
 
… Really? You saw what…?
 
I see… Well, you couldn’t have been too traumatized, or you wouldn’t be here.
 
First of, hypnosis doesn’t usually work that way in real life. It’s not mind control, despite what you saw. The only reason she reacted that way is because she’s been hypnotized by me a lot and she’s used to responding to my words.
 
Why? Well… it’s complicated. The short answer is, we both really enjoy it! Being hypnotized is a lot of fun. It’s super relaxing, it’s great for stress and anxiety, and we get to have experiences that we couldn’t otherwise have.
 
Like what? Well, like what you saw with Beca. I asked her if that was something she’d like to do, and she said yes, so we set it up. Again: it’s not mind control. Everything we do is discussed and consented to before we get to that step.
 
People respond to it in different ways. I mean, we’re not manufactured on assembly lines - of course we’re gonna have different reactions! Some people report a form of peer pressure, others say it’s more like a strong compulsion. I knew one guy years ago who said he felt like I’d highjacked his mind and his body was just along for the ride…!
 
Ha ha ha… oh, dear, good times…

Cool! Okay, get yourself nice and comfortable. Feet flat on the floor, and settle in to the chair, ok?

So! Let’s walk you through a few exercises to help you get into the right head space.
 
I want you to take a few deep breaths first, ok? Just let me guide you along so you can go with the flow. Deep breath in… hold it for 3… 2… 1… and, let it out… good! Again… hold it for 3… 2… 1.. and, exhale…
 
Now, I want you to clasp your hands together with your fingers interwoven. Right, just like that. Extend your index fingers out so they’re about an inch apart. Perfect! Next, I want you to focus as hard as you can on that space between those two fingers. Imagine that there are super powerful magnets on both your index fingers, and they’re being drawn closer together. Really try to feel what it’d be like: the cold of the magnet against your skin, the dab of glue holding the magnets to your fingertips, and the extra weight on your fingers.
 
Good, you’re doing great! Now, keep imagining those feelings as my words guide you along, ok? As you keep imagining this, you can feel the magnetic pull become stronger and stronger, drawing your fingers closer together. Closer, stronger, closer closer closer until they… just… touch.
 
Pretty neat, huh? You’re a natural at this! … Oh, and you can pull your fingers apart, now.
 
Sorry, got a little ahead of myself, there!
 
So, yeah! That gives you an idea what it’s like. You responded really well!
 
… I’m glad you had fun. Wanna try some more?
 
Cool! This time, I want you to hold your hands out in front of you, like a sleepwalker. Yep, perfect, arms extended all the way out. Have your right palm facing up and your left palm facing down. I’m just gonna run my fingers along your wrists, and as I do I want you to imagine that I’ve tied strings around your right wrist, and the strings are attached to great big helium-filled balloons. Try and see it in your mind. There are three there: one is bright yellow, one is white, and one is primary red. They’re big and beautiful and reflect the light so brilliantly. And now that I’ve tied them to your wrist, imagine them floating up to the ceiling, pulling your wrist up along with them.
 
And as you keep imagining that, I’ve also laid the handle of a bucket over your left palm. It’s an old, tin bucket that’s been used a lot over the years. I’m dropping sand into the bucket now, and the bucket is getting heavier… heavier… and heavier. See the shovel I’m using to scoop the sand into the bucket as I tie more and more balloons to your right wrist. These ones are great big ones, so they pull even harder on your wrist.
 
Yes, that’s right! And as you keep focusing on my words, as I keep adding more balloons and more sand, your left arm gets heavier and heavier while your right arm gets lighter and lighter.
 
Good, very good. Now, when I snap my fingers, the balloons and bucket are all gone SNAP.
 
I know, right?! Isn’t that amazing?? Your arms moved so far from where they were!
 
You respond really well to suggestion.
 
I’m curious, how much did you know about hypnosis before you saw Beca get triggered?
 
… Really, nothing at all? Hmm, I think I get it: since you saw Beca’s strong responses, your brain must have associated such intensity with being hypnotized.
 
… No, that’s not a bad thing - in fact, it’s a really good thing! Which means you don’t have to work as hard as some people to have fun with hypnosis, like you’re doing right now!
