How true is the legend that Orobashi died after a confrontation with the Shogun Raiden?

Chapter 1: Long live the God Orobashi

One of the oldest tales in the Inazuma region is the battle between the serpent god Orobashi no Mikoto against the Raiden Shogun. At least once in their life, a citizen has gone to the Musoujin Gorge and has been able to see how the territory was left after that confrontation. Even if some could see its skull in the region and hear about the Tatarigami curse, no one knew exactly what happened to the serpent god, only the Shogun Raiden and we can say that she was wrong in thinking that it died.

At the moment before its death, Orobashi was able to transfer its soul to an egg that would hatch after centuries and allow its reincarnation. For the safety of its future body, it made sure to send it far from the Inazuma region, knowing that the Shogun Raiden would be careful enough to destroy it if she found out about its plan. She did not notice any of that and its plan worked, dying in said combat, but knowing that sooner or later it would return.

Centuries passed and finally, the egg hatched. From its interior Orobashi appeared in the size of a newborn snake. Having no one who could defend it from other predators during its first months of birth, it had to avail itself of its past abilities and skills to survive.

In the beginning, its easiest prey to capture were squirrels, birds, and any small animal. As it ate and the months passed, its size kept increasing and with that recovering its powers. It did not take long to regain the glory and power it had enjoyed in its previous life, hypnosis. That is why we will recount the day it used it again.

The day had not started for Orobashi, the serpent god was sleeping in its tree while resting after having hunted an entire family of animals the day before. However, it heard noises at the foot of the tree that woke it up. Upon opening its eyes it could see what it was, some treasure thieves were making a lot of noise because they were talking among themselves and moving around with their shovels in hand. The god was already the size of a normal snake and that is why it did not feel intimidated by the group of men disturbing its tranquility. Without thinking twice, Orobashi climbed down the tree.

The group of thieves had their backs turned and that's why they did not initially notice its presence. Orobashi then told them:

"You have dared to enter my territory, I will eat you" Threatening them like that.
"Did you hear that?" asked a treasure thief starting to look around
"Yes, it seems we have competition," said another angry-looking person in the group ready to fight.
"Hey, look at that" and pointed at Orobashi. His companions turned to see the white-scaled snake with red eyes. One of them fell to the ground scared while one of them lifted him back up
"Coward! How are we going to face the geoarmy if you're afraid of a simple snake? Watch me, I'll kill it" After that, the man approached where the creature was confidently thinking he could defeat it.
"Very well, let it be so human" After that, Orobashi remained still, with his eyes observing the man and they changed to then be a pair of spirals of the same color, having a clear target, to hypnotize that naive thief.
The man's reaction was as expected, as soon as he mobilized the dagger towards the snake's head, he remained still, contemplating its eyes that now shone like rubies and also

had more relaxing spirals for its viewers. On the other hand, its other two companions who were ready to support the one who tried to initiate the attack fell for the cunning ploy of the animal.

This had quickly surprised of course the former god, but positively, he had reached once again that which granted him not only his divinity but also his respect and that is why, already having a group of hypnotized men at his command, he would make sure to take due advantage of it. His next order was "Still" wanting to have the group of thieves as if they were statues at the moment.

Without saying words they obeyed, maintaining that position for who was now their master. What he did was go against the one who attacked him, quickly opened his mouth, and started swallowing him. At first of course, only the man's head fit inside and as he swallowed more, he approached him to finish his task. That is how using his agile jaw and snake shape, he completely swallowed the thief. The snake was relishing the man's skin, as well as slowly consuming his meal, because he was still recovering from his easy and quick digestion. That is how he had that man inside him for a few minutes and it was still visible to anyone watching that he had a human body inside. After a few minutes, he finally spat out the man's remains, which consisted of bones he could not digest due to his current size.

After finishing eating his first human, he then said "Next" and the other treasure thief stepped forward, taking the previous one's place in line to suffer the same fate, to be swallowed alive and without even being able to scream due to the trance state he was in. After a few hours, the god finished his feast, leaving only the remains of it on the ground by his tree home. That was when finally, tired from the effort of swallowing and course happy to have regained his powers, he crawled to his tree, already drowsy from all he had done today. That is how it was, how Orobashi, the serpent god who previously conquered Inazuma today recovered his powers, and his divinity and also, had a feast, which would be the first of many, as well as the longing for his days of glory.
