Like I said, I want to update this as I go, and I tend to write fast. So... Enjoy XD

CW: Anger outbursts

The warmth of the sun awoke Tyr before the rays of light did. She groggily sat up, her body all sore and troubled from a restless sleep atop whatever leaves she scrounged last night to rest upon. Her head was pulsing, and she could still hear that buzzing. In fact, that damn sound seemingly made its way to the back of her head, which only further made her morning harder to embrace. She'd have more than happily laid back to sleep, if she hadn't accidentally pressed against her arm, causing the stinger wound to spike up and fully jolt her awake. Of course, it was still there. She was still in this mystical jungle of never ending trees and vines, trying to flee for her life from a group of magically enhanced insects.

The fact that they bested her and a group of seasoned adventurers would've felt humiliating if she didn't have more pressing matters at hand. Those being, survival, and not much else. Tyr sighed to herself as she slowly made her way once more.

The pain from the sting was less prominent now. At the very least, the pain from the venom seemed to vanish, now only the physical discomfort of being stung by a bee who's stinger was as large as the tip of a spear.

She inspected her wound as she kept walking. Nothing too horrible. It wasn't turning purple, or green, or any other unnatural color. In fact, she wasn't even bleeding, a fact that caused even more questions. Just what was up with that attack anyway? The bee girl practically toyed with her, didn't pay any heed to her weapons, and flew off as soon as she was done, calling her by name, no less. She just… Couldn't place her finger on why, but the way she said that name felt so… Familiar. Like the bee girl has known her for a while now. Which, of course, was flat out impossible.

Walking through the forest more and more, Tyr could spot them now. The fae-bees going around, flying through the forest. It was as if they were hiding from her until now, and just didn't bother to mask their presence anymore. She could easily just chuck it down to more fae magic, though that would explain why the buzzing was so intense now. They were everywhere, and she knew better than to try and fight a whole hive alone, wounded and with only one fully functioning arm.

Still, observing them did teach her a few more things. For example, she quickly noticed that some of them were carrying ludicrous amounts of sweet-smelling pollen, their entire bodies basically covered with the stuff. Which implied, beyond the existence of flowers huge enough for them to work with, that they were going somewhere.

The Hive.

Somehow, the sheer idea of a hive filled her with horror and an odd sense of fascination. If nothing else, now she knew what direction to avoid, if she wanted to steer clear of their machinations.

There were also other things to learn, like how they communicated. She never really noticed them speaking much, as much as using their wings and circling each other when two of them got close enough. They were so efficient in their work, going in and out, in and out. Sure, it would take a while to transfer this much pollen, but it seemed that they got a steady supply of it. Which made her think… Why would the Elven elders even request them to be killed in the first place?

Of course, the flowers!

She had an idea. A plan began to form at the back of her mind. If the bees needed that pollen to survive… Then what would happen if she hit them where it really hurt? Perhaps, that was part of the mystery at hand in the first place. And, spotting two bees, one pollinated and one not, circling each other in that dance of buzzing, she quickly realized where the other was headed. She was going to gather more pollen, and that meant leading Tyr right to their source of food. If the venom was going to kill her, she had two options. Try and escape, which seemed less and less likely with all the black and yellow girls flying about, and taking them down with her.

She waited for the two to fully part, before noticing the girls leaning close to one another. Nuzzling each others' cheeks, before planting a long, deep kiss to one another's lips. Tyr blushed a little, just what was up with these girls? Her line of questioning would have to wait however, seeing as her target finally took off, heading in a seemingly random direction that the ranger had no issues tracking. This was why they took her here in the first place, after all. She had Lora were to serve as the trackers of the group, finding their prey and using the few clues left behind them to locate their hive and destroy it. Funny, how she was doing the exact thing requested of her in the first place, even if her motivation was a lot more selfish now.

Naturally, the bee flew far faster than her humanoid legs could follow. Tyr soon had to rely on the markings on the trees, the slight scent in the air, the way the wind moved, all to keep track. Fortunately, the insectoid seemed to fly in a singular direction, and didn't make a lot of sharp turns or maneuvers, so following her trail was easy enough. She didn't know what to expect at the end of this path, but she knew what thing. She was going to burn it. Burn it to the ground. Make sure none of it remains. Hatred flared inside her like a miniature sun, a blaze of insurmountable heat, that wouldn't sway for anything on the path of destruction she had chosen.

Soon, she could see more sunlight coming from the end of some trees. Her goal, at long last. She breached through, embracing the sun, flint in hand ready to set the final spark…

Only to stand there, astonished.

She never expected this place to be so… Beautiful. Enchanting. The flowers she saw were big. Far too big to be normal. In fact, she could probably curl inside one of them herself, and thoughts of how soft and welcoming the petals of each bloom looked already seeped into her mind. The bees were there. Of course they were there. Though it seemed that they did more than just gather pollen and return.

She could spot some of them snuggling together, using the massive flowers as makeshift beds. Hugging, kissing, doing… Other things that she didn't want to think about at the moment. Gods, when those bee girls became so sexual? It felt very much out of nowhere to her, as thus far the only interaction with them she had was of the fae going on the offensive. Attacking them, taking the rest of her party after stinging them as well. And now she got to witness this, this beauty of the magical nature. The supernatural, the mystique, the grandeur of it all. All the colors seeping into her mind.

Could she really destroy such a thing? Her mind told her yes, she could and she must. Not for some stuffy Elves, no, but for Lora. For her love, the one that was now assuredly dead in the pit of some comb, being fed to larva. Or whatever these bee girls had for reproduction, she frankly didn't care enough to find out.

And yet… The heart told her no. How could she? Such beauty, to be destroyed and ravaged over vengeance? She could find other ways to exact her justice. Get out of the forest, find help. Find stronger people to take here and show them how beautiful the flowers were and- No! Tyr shook her head. What in the gods' name was going on with her? Sure, these petals were so inviting, and yet, they were related. Related to the menace that took away Lora, the others too.

Stepping forth, she brought the flint back up. She had to. She must! This was her one shot at ending this, she could tell. The bee girls, they noticed her. They must have. And yet, none approached to try and stop her. The fools, they were. So arrogant that she was no longer a threat that they didn't even bother to do anything to hinder her movement. Only stare at her from those flowers, with those cute, full eyes and- She shook her head again. This area wasn't good for her. Not at all. The longer she stayed in this glade, the more Tyr realized just how much it was fucking with her mind. It had to be. That damn, sweet and entrancing smell of the nectar around her was flooding her nose with inviting delight and trying to dissuade her from destroying these… These…

Tyr stopped just a few short steps from igniting the flint and setting the glade ablaze. What was she thinking? She couldn't destroy it. She didn't have any means to put the fires off once they were done anyway, if she set it now she'd be burning the entire forest alive, herself included. Rationalizations of her own safety and continued existence battled with the urge to just destroy and decimate everything in a fit of anger. Before she knew it, she fell to her knees, shaking in place while trying to decide. Destruction, or life?

The buzzing intensified. More of the bee girls, the damn fae, watched her now, some leaning closer, in some aspect of curiosity, not daring to fully approach. She turned around, looking at them for a moment. They were… Just watching. Looking at her, cutely. With those big eyes, mesmerized by something that she couldn't understand. "Ugh, what do you even want?!" She shouted, not to any response. "You already took everything from me, and now you're leaving me here to die?! Enjoying my suffering before you end it?! What in the gods' name do you fucking want more, my dignity? My pride?! My body?!" She kept shouting and shouting, having fully turned to face the small entourage of girls, all just looking at her and letting her shout and vent her frustrations.

"...Fine! Fuck, fine. I won't burn your flowers, whatever! I'll just… I'll just get out of here and find other people to kill you! How's that, huh?! Think you're so clever cause you managed to get the best of us?!" More and more yelling resumed, emotions running high through her and she cared little to hide them. Her audience was a bunch of naked fae bee-girls, it's not like any of this could be any less bizarre. Still, as Tyr came to turn around, brushing her blonde her aside to get on her way… She paused. Not for a lack of company, or anything of the sort. It was something far simpler, if anything.

Her stomach growled. She was hungry.

Tyr put a hand to her stomach, looking down at it. It made sense, she hasn't had any breakfast and the smell of nectar all around her wasn't making things easier.

Thinking about it, she reasoned there was no real point in not having some herself. If only the constant buzzing and the array of eyes looking at her weren't there… She just, looked at them. "Just leave me alone, would you?..." She didn't really expect anything out of it. They were the enemy. And they showed no reason to even care about what she wanted. For all she knew, they'd just laugh, and then stick closer, the fae they are indulging in her misery.

To her surprise, however, they did. Backing off and going back to doing their own things.

Was her mind playing tricks on her, or did they actually listen?

Whatever.

She approached one of the nearer flowers to her. It was massive, red, and for all intents and purposes looked like it was inviting her into it. Although, without a proper pair of wings to help her in, Tyr had to go the long, arduous way of climbing up the petals, and somehow fandangling her way towards the base of the flower itself, where the nectar laid. She could smell it now, more than ever before, the sweet scent filled her mind and she had to try some.

Once she was deep enough, most likely with her ass on wide display for all the bee girls outside, Tyr reached out and tried to scoop some of the nectar. She found that it resided in small batches, membrane covered packets that were delicate, but definitely pickable. She gently pulled one, looking at the semi-translucent white liquid. And without much bravado about it… She opened her mouth, biting a gap and drinking it in.

It was incredible! She tasted sweet stuff before, but this thing was on a whole other level. The watery nectar flowed down her throat, over her shoulders, she didn't care. One by one, the nectar packets came off, and before she knew it, Tyr already drank down all of them. It was absolutely delicious, there were simply no words in her mind to describe the taste.

Sliding out of the flowers' petals, she felt full. Satisfied, even. A good meal after days and days of rations does wonders for a person. And, feeling a bit light headed after such a meal, Tyr decided to find someplace to rest. She could make her escape later, maybe get a few of those nectar bubbles to take with her so she doesn't have to hunt on the way out. At least the bees weren't bothering her, even if the buzzing that went on and in her mind never stopped.

I hope you enjoyed! Next chapter will be out when I'm ready, so... Whenever, really, most likely tomorrow.

See y'all around~
