Alena looked at Madison standing there, surprised. Madison was leaning against the doorframe, half of her inside, the other half waiting just beyond the door frame. “I need you.” That was what she had said. Alena closed her eyes and felt the edges of sleep start to grip at her. She took a deep breath and let it start to fade in. She could hear Madison talking, but knew that it was easier to just ignore it and focus on relaxing. Madison would take care of everything from now on. Just the way it should be.
