See the New You!
Chapter 1
by Zii Nanre
Clarissa smiled at herself in the mirror, she looked good today. She was just finishing up tying her hot pink hair back into a ponytail, the streak of lighter pink in front held in place by a barrette. Her dark eyes complimented the color of her hair perfectly. She straightened her glasses, reminding herself of her appointment today. She hated seeing new doctors, it was so stressful. But, better to endure a little stress than let her eyesight go uncorrected. Her current prescription was a little lacking, and having just moved here, she didn’t have much of a choice but to go to someone new.
She turned around and looked over her room. Its off-white walls were covered in the many photos she’d taken over the years. She loved photography, hopefully she’d be able to get out into the city soon and capture its beauty. Her bed was messy and had clothes piled on top of it, she’d get to laundry soon, she was sure; moving in was just stressful. She walked across the room, stepping over the various boxes and objects, to her closet. She looked over her selection, and picked out a black tank top, with a beige off shoulder sweater, and jeans. She quickly dressed and headed out into her apartment.
Boxes were everywhere, many half unpacked. She stepped over to her desk and grabbed her phone from where it had been charging. 9:18 AM, her appointment was at 10. She hoped she hadn’t started out too late. She had a text from her mom, which she didn’t even bother reading. She’d moved out here to get away from her family and their drama. She smiled as she saw another text from Aaron, her boyfriend. The one good thing about moving such a long way.
<See you tonight, babe. Ily>
Clarissa smiled and held her phone to her chest, then replied with a heart and a kiss emoji. She’d only met him a month ago, shortly after moving in, but she was head over heels almost immediately. She walked over to the entryway and grabbed her purse, which was the same color as her hair, and put her phone in it before pulling the strap over her shoulder and grabbing her keys from the hook by the door.
She made her way outside, it was a cool autumn morning; with overcast skies and a light breeze sending colorful leaves into the air. Clarissa walked across the parking lot, shivering a bit after a particularly strong breeze. After a few moments she arrived at her car, a beat up old thing, but it got her to the places she needed to go.
She got into the car and began the journey to the optometrist’s office. The doctor’s name was Corinne Stasiak, but Clarissa knew nothing else. She wished she did. It was the unknown that made it so nerve wracking, she’d had bad experiences with medical professionals in the past. She told herself it was just an eye doctor appointment, she was just gonna be told to look at a bunch of weird things and then go home. It was gonna be fine. What could even go wrong?
Clarissa arrived at 9:51 AM, just in time. The building was a boxy, modern looking affair, bland and uninteresting, uninspired. A sign at the entrance to the small parking lot read ‘Stasiak Eyecare’ Beneath that, in smaller print, was ‘See the new you!’
As she entered the building and the warm air hit her, Clarissa breathed a small sigh of relief. Being cold was no fun. The interior was simple, wood paneled walls, a green carpet, and rows of chairs set up throughout the room. In front of her was the reception desk, set behind a large rectangular hole cut out of the wall. As she approached, a friendly looking woman at the counter looked up. She had dark skin and eyes, long curly black hair, and wore a purple turtleneck sweater and gold rimmed glasses.
“Hello there! How can I help you this morning?” Her voice was cheerful, and it didn’t sound forced.
Clarissa smiled back at her, “Oh uh, appointment for Clarissa Arkhart. 10 AM.”
The woman nodded, typing on her computer for a few moments. She looked up again, “Alright, Ms. Arkhart, have a seat, she’ll call you up when she’s ready for you!”
Clarissa did as instructed and sat down on one of the uncomfortable seats in the waiting area. Within minutes a woman’s voice called her name from her left. Clarissa turned and saw a woman standing in the entrance to a hallway left of the reception desk. She wore a light blue sweater and a long grey skirt. She had light brown hair and pale skin, her eyes were a greyish color, and she wore thin framed glasses. She wore a grey scarf around her neck.
Clarissa stood and followed her down a small hallway and into a dimly lit room full of exam equipment. The doctor motioned for her to sit down in front of a large machine Clarissa recognized as the thing that took pictures of the interior of eyes.
“Left eye here, please.” Dr. Stasiak said, indicating a small round opening. Her voice was low and smooth, her tone authoritative.
Clarissa did as instructed, and a bright light flashed in her left eye. She felt… a little odd after that. Different from the way this usually went. Another flash, an afterimage of… something. Something more than the vague amorphous shapes that usually accompanied such things. It looked almost like… words? Words she couldn't make out.
“Well done, Clarissa.” The doctor gently touched Clarissa’s shoulder as she spoke. The praise, the slight touch… was she blushing? Why would… “Right eye now, there.”
Clarissa did as she was told. Same flashes, same feelings. She felt a bit dizzy.
“Hey uhm… is it uh, normal to feel dizzy after that? It hasn’t really happened to me before…” She asked, nervously.
Dr. Stasiak smiled slightly, “Oh it can happen, nothing to worry about.” She leaned down, closer to Clarissa’s face, speaking more quietly, “I can tell you’re anxious, but don’t worry, you’re doing great, hon.”
Clarissa smiled back, “Thanks.. It’s just hard, moving to a new place, new doctors and all.”
The doctor smirked, “I understand, over here now, please.”
She was led to a much smaller device with a forehead and chin rest. “Oh, this one.” Clarissa giggled. “Gonna have me stare at the lil house, right?”
Dr. Stasiak smirked, “Something like that. Place your chin there please, good.”
Clarissa’s view was plunged into complete darkness as she rested her chin on the device.
“Now, in a moment you’re going to see a shape in the far distance. It might be indistinct, or seem to be changing. I want you to focus on that shape, and tell me what you see.”
The darkness was suddenly pierced by bright white light, and a small, blurry shape in the center of Clarissa’s view. It looked like it was shaking, sort of shivering? No… changing, like Dr. Stasiak had said. Clarissa focused on the shape, it was important that she focus, work out what she was seeing. Dr. Stasiak had told her to do it. She should do what her doctor said. As she started the shape became less blurry, less fuzzy, now it was…
“The shape is uhm… it’s… words, I think?” Clarissa said, slightly nervously. “I can’t tell what they say, they’re changing too fast.”
Dr. Stasiak placed her hands on Clarissa’s bare shoulders. That was… weird… right? But her hands were warm… and soft… She didn’t need to say anything about it.
“Just keep focusing, try your best to tell me what the words say.” The doctor said, her voice seemed… closer than before.
Clarissa continued staring, trying her best to make out the words. Finally, after what felt like minutes, she managed to read one. It said simply, ‘WATCH.’ That was what she was doing, she supposed. She told the doctor what she’d seen, and was given a supportive squeeze on the shoulders. It felt… really nice. No, that was weird. That was definitely weird to think, something was wrong, this was-
“Watch.” Dr. Stasiak said, her tone harsh and authoritative.
Clarissa had barely even noticed she’d begun to struggle, only realizing after she abruptly stopped. Why had she been struggling? She was just watching. She saw a second word, ‘CALM.’ She felt herself relax as she stared, the third word making its way into her mind, ‘LISTEN.’ Yes… she should listen. That made sense. She had no idea how long she sat there, calmly watching, letting an unknown number of words enter her mind. Eventually she was pulled away by Dr. Stasiak.
“Wha… What's happening?” Clarissa asked, confused and disoriented.
“You’re ready for the next step.” Dr. Stasiak replied, smiling as she offered her hand, helping Clarissa to stand up.
The next step? Of what? Why was she here again? Everything was confusing.
Clarissa rubbed her eyes, “What are we doing?”
The doctor put a finger against Clarissa’s lips, “Shhh, just follow me, okay?”
She felt herself blushing, her entire body felt warm at Dr. Stasiak’s touch. She had butterflies in her stomach. Why did she feel like this? She wasn’t into girls. She had a boyfriend. She was so confused, even moreso when she blurted out the words “Yes, Doctor.” in a sleepy, monotone voice, not even thinking about it before speaking. She followed as Dr. Stasiak left the room, leading her down the hall.
They entered another room, long and thin, with a chart of letters on one end, and a chair with a massive array of lenses on a metal arm on the other. Clarissa was directed to sit in the chair, she did so without hesitation, once again replying with “Yes, Doctor.”
Dr. Stasiak sat down at a computer next to the chair, “You’re doing so well, Clarissa. I knew you’d be perfect for this the moment I saw you.”
“Perfect for what? I… this is just an eye exam, right?” Clarissa felt her head clearing, the fog the words had put her in fading.
Dr. Stasiak giggled quietly, “Of course it is, sweetie. Don’t worry about it.”
That made sense, of course it was just an eye exam. What else would it be? “Yes, Doctor. I won’t worry about it.”
“Very good.” Dr. Stasiak stood up and walked over in front of Clarissa, moving the array of lenses into place. “Eyes here.” She reached around and pointed.
Clarissa nodded and obeyed. She saw the eye chart across the room through the lenses. She expected to be asked to read it, but instead strange, opaque purple lenses dropped down, light filtering through them, creating a purple tinged glow in Clarissa’s eyes.
“You will see a bright flash. When you do, you will feel something. You will tell me what you feel. Understand?”
“Yes, Doctor.” The dim purple glow brightened to an extreme intensity within less than a second. Clarissa felt a buzzing sensation run down her body, it almost seemed to buzz her mind as well. “I… felt... buzzing?”
“Indeed.”
Another flash, another buzz, then another, and another. Continuous fuzzy vibration, running through every inch of Clarissa’s body. She found it hard to think, found herself blushing, feeling warm… feeling wet… She relayed it all to Dr. Stasiak, not even aware of the embarrassing things she was saying to a total stranger.
Eventually, after an amount of time Clarissa was no longer capable of understanding, the lenses were pulled away. Her vision was still tinted purple, the buzzing still massaged her mind, if not her body. She looked around, when had she stripped down to her underwear? Why was that… worrying? Her Doctor had told her to do it. She must obey her Doctor.
She looked up at Dr. Stasiak. She was… beautiful. She glowed with brilliant purple light, inhuman beauty, she was a Goddess… How had she not seen it before? How had she been so blind? She stood from her chair, and immediately fell to her knees, staring up at her Doctor in awe. Slowly, the purple glow in her vision began to fade. The delightful, mind numbing buzz was harder to feel. Her Doctor began to look… like just some woman again.
Clarissa found herself kneeling on the floor, mostly naked, Dr. Stasiak standing in front of her, her arms crossed, smirking. “What… what the fuck?!” Anger filled her as she stood, covering herself with her hands, discovering she was… very wet. What the hell had happened, what had this woman done to her? What fuck was going-
While she’d been focusing on standing up and examining her situation, Dr. Stasiak had been walking back over to her desk, and evidently, picking up a pair of glasses. The doctor slid them onto Clarissa’s face before she could react. The lenses were tinted a dark… purple. It was… a pretty color. Buzzy… fuzzy… color…
‘Now, my dear,” Dr. Stasiak began, “You will wear these glasses at all times from now on.”
“Yes, Doctor. I will wear these glasses at all times from now on…”
Dr. Stasiak began gently feeling up Clarissa's body, causing more pleasurable buzzing to spread through her.
“These glasses activate your programming. They make you mine. They also correct your vision, but that’s a little less important.” Dr. Stasiak giggled.
Clarissa just moaned quietly.
“They contain a small transmitter that is connected to my phone at all times, so I can speak to you as needed. I can also see what you see through small cameras. Your Doctor will always be with you, isn’t that lovely, my pet?” Dr. Stasiak was now outright groping Clarissa.
“Yes Doctor… that’s… so lovely…”
“Good girl, my pet. Now, you will dress yourself again, and you will walk out of here, and live your life as normal. You will not remember any of this. You will remember only a normal optometry appointment, and you will be very happy with your new glasses. I will call for you when I need you.”
Clarissa did as she was told, the fuzzy buzzing in her mind compelling her to do as her Doctor said. She dressed, and walked out of the building, remembering a perfectly normal optometry appointment. Why had she been so nervous? It was just like any other. And now she had such pretty new glasses! She walked across the parking lot, shivering a bit in the autumnal chill. She got into her car, and drove home.
