Jenny’s Whale

Jenny woke up the next morning to her alarm. She hit the snooze button as usual and prepared for another good nine sweet minutes in Dreamland and then maybe another nine before she had to get ready for work. She turned around and scratched her leg, feeling the fishnet stockings she wore. The next second, she sat upright, fully awake. The morning sun that came in through the cracks of her curtains lit up the room, so she could see.

She was alone.

Did that really happen yesterday? Oh fuck, it did! She saw her lingerie bra and panties on the floor, where she threw them so that Clint could…

„Oh my god!“

Jenny felt nauseous. It wasn’t that the sex wasn’t good, but she just felt so dirty. Did he even use a condom? Did he just go home after she fell asleep? And when did she fall asleep? It must have been right after… Jenny took a few deep breaths and calmed herself down. It was all alright, she told herself. She did what she needed to do to get his signature, and that was her decision. It was all worth it. All she needed to do now was get ready for work and bring the contract with her.

The contract!

She looked around. It wasn’t on the floor. It wasn’t on the nightstand. Jenny jumped up from her bed and went to the living room, still in nothing but stockings. Maybe he left it for her on the table, she hoped. There was nothing.

She tried to call Clint, but he didn’t pick up. Instead, there was a message from Malik, telling her he was looking forward to their date tonight. Jenny rarely felt so guilty and ashamed. She turned and went to the bathroom, her hands shaking. She needed a shower. A really long one.

Jenny sat at her desk and looked at the next lame candidate on her list. She was not allowed to handle any client with more than five years of work experience until she had met her so-called "beginner's quota". That meant at least twenty more low-income nerds for her to deal with, and even most of them ignored her messages on LinkedIn. Clint was supposed to be her loophole, because even though he met the criteria of working less than five years, he was still more qualified than any senior developer she'd ever seen. It would have been her first big bonus, and her quota would be maxed out in one go. But he had scammed her. She let him sleep with her, and yet she still didn't have the damn contract! What a bastard. Thinking about it made her furious and ashamed. Although she would really love to taste his feet again, or eat his dick… No! What was it with those ridiculous thoughts she had all morning?!

Her phone rang, and she picked up "Future Recruiting - Jennifer Coultage speaking."

"Hey, this is Clint. I Just saw the missed call on my phone. How are you?"

"Clint?! What happened last night? Why did you just leave like that?!"

"Oh, I'm so sorry, I wanted to leave you a note, but I was in a hurry this morning. Didn't want to wake you up because you look so pretty when you sleep. Like an angel, really."

Jenny shuddered at the thought of someone she barely knew staring at her like that while she was asleep. Why did she sleep with him in the first place, if she felt so bad about it? The contract, right. It was just about that, she reminded herself, and still felt conflicted and confused about her contradictory thoughts and feelings.

Jenny lowered her voice.

"Clint, I feel really used. What you did was not okay."

"Oh, Jenny, I am truly sorry. I feel absolutely horrible about that. I will make it up to you, I promise! Did you at least get a nice bonus from the contract?"

"What are you talking about? I don’t get any bonus until I find you a job and you took the contract with you!"

"What? No, that's impossible, wait... Oh my, you are right. There it is. I must have packed it in a hurry. Should I bring it to your office? I’ve got some time right now."

Jenny's heart jumped. It was all just a misunderstanding. A stupid accident. He didn't use her after all!

"Yeah, Clint, that would be great!" She curbed herself and added, "I mean, it's a start to make up for leaving me like that."

Why not play the guilt card some more? Seemed to work just fine!

"Absolutely. Oh, hey, why don't we go out for lunch again? I could bring you the contract, and you can tell me about some of those cool companies you mentioned? Same time, same place?"

"I'm already meeting a different client there today for lunch, but you can bring the contract over, and we can schedule something for another time, alright?"

"Sure thing, I'll be there soon."

Jenny's mood was much better after that call. She still felt a bit uneasy about yesterday, but she could absolutely not pinpoint why exactly. So she focused on work. It was almost time to go out for lunch when she got nervous again. Clint should have been here by now. Would he drop the contract off if she wasn't here? She couldn't risk that, but she also wasn't gonna call off her other client.

Finally, Beth from the reception entered her office with Clint following her. She had a very amused smile on her face and said, "Hey, Jenny. Your boyfriend is here to pick you up for lunch."

Jenny's jaw dropped. "Excuse me, my what?"

Clint might have thought he was funny, but Beth is the most gossipy person on the planet, and Jenny could not have something like this go around right now! She nipped it in the bud immediately, stating firmly, "He's just joking, Beth! Clint is not my boyfriend."

She wanted to give him a stern look, but something else caught her attention. Clint said, "I guess we're not official yet."

Jenny thought they were not official yet, as she glanced at his glowing ring. She heard Beth’s voice, "I see. Well, enjoy your lunch!"

Jenny wanted to add something, to clarify further, but when she looked up, Beth had already left. It was all over before she could say another word.

"Hey! You can't do that, Clint!" She told him angrily.

"What?" he chuckled, "It was just a joke." He showed her his ring for some reason and said, "No harm done, Jenny. Now, give me a nice long French kiss to say hello."

"Yeah, no harm done. Sorry for overreacting." She stood up and kissed him, using her tongue to greet him for a while. "Hello again," she said afterward and smiled.

"Hey," he grinned back at her.

"I really gotta hurry now, or I'll be late for my client. Sorry about that. Where's the contract?", she asked warily.

"It's obviously in my backpack. You are completely sure about that. No need to worry."

"Yeah.." Jenny agreed, distracted by his glowing ring.

"Now, forget about that other client. You're going to lunch with me. You have been looking forward to that all day."

Jenny wondered if his ring always glowed like that. She never noticed before. Then the glowing suddenly stopped, and Jenny instantly turned around to grab her purse. "Let's go, shall we?" She felt a bit giddy.

Clint convinced her to go to a different restaurant from the last time. A nice-looking burger place. Not really her thing, but she wasn't going to complain. They sat down, and Clint said, "I love your outfit. Much better than what you wore the first time we met, but far worse than the second."

He winked, and she smiled awkwardly. He was lucky he was good-looking, she thought.

Her outfit was a black dress with sheer, polka-dot sleeves that had a subtle shimmer. She also took a bit longer to prepare her face this morning. If she didn't use what god gave her, why should she even bother with this job in the first place? Flirting with naive nerds was what she did, so she might as well put some effort into it.

She didn't say that, though. She just said "Thank you," and then her phone rang. It was a different client.

"Excuse me, do you mind?" she asked, and Clint nodded to signal her it was fine to pick up.

"Hey, where are you?"

"What do you mean? I'm having lunch with a client, why?"

"I thought we had lunch today? We wanted to go over my offers and pick the company, remember?"

"Oh, Josh, that was today, wasn't it? I am so sorry, it seems I messed this one up!"

"So what do we do now?"

Jenny could kick herself. She was close to getting Josh to sign a contract with a company, which was the last step of her getting that sweet bonus money and raise in quota. Clint might have been a bigger fish, but she didn't really need anything from him right now, besides that signed contract. And she was gonna get that anyway. Damn!

"Wait a second," she said to Josh and pressed the mute button. "Clint, listen. I totally forgot that I planned lunch with another client today. We need to discuss something important. Would you be okay if I.. I..."

Jenny's world drowned in red.

"Jenny, tell me which client is better for your career? Him or me?"

Jenny said "You" in a soft voice.

"That's right," Clint said while she was dazed by his ring. "I'm actually the only client you need. The others can screw themselves for all you care."

"Yeah..."

"You should tell him that. Tell him that you have a more important client now and that you don't need him anymore. Do it now."

Jenny was still staring at the ring when she put the phone back to her ear and pressed the button to unmute. "Josh... I got a more important client right now, and I don't need you anymore."

"What? Jenny, what are you talking about?"

She heard Josh's confused voice through the phone, while she was surprised by her own honesty for a moment. Jenny looked at Clint and thought to herself that he was actually the only client she needed. Everyone else was basically useless to her. They could all screw themselves.

"Screw yourself, Josh. If you want a job, get it yourself," she said with a smile and freed herself of him by hanging up the phone. She planned on canceling all her other useless clients after lunch as well. "So, where were we?"

Jenny smiled and gave Clint her full attention. He was the only client she needed.

Clint was eating his burger while Jenny told him about the companies she could get him in. Her salad was already gone, as was her second glass of wine, "...and with your skillset, I'm sure we can get them to pay double of their initial offer."

Clint seemed a bit bored, but she might misinterpret that. "Sounds great," he yawned and took another bite.

Jenny continued until he was done eating and the waiter cleared the table. "Oh, and before we go, you gotta give me that contract. Otherwise, I can't send your files to the companies…”

Clint smiled and said, "Oh, right. There it is." He bent over to go through his backpack and said, "Uh-oh!" he literally grinned at her, "I must have forgotten it at home."

Jenny shook her head. This was impossible. She was sure he had it. This was torture!

"Are you serious? Can you look again? I'm sure it's in there!"

She felt weak suddenly. Something was wrong. Why did she feel so strange now? She felt used again. It was as if he was doing this on purpose, but why would he? This didn't make any sense.

He said, "How about that: You come by my place later tonight and pick it up? I guess that's only fair, since I came to yours last time, right?"

Jenny's insides were on a rollercoaster. She felt like she drowned in all sorts of strange emotions, and then she snapped. "Are you kidding me? You did this on purpose! Just to get me to come to your place, is that it? Did you even sign the damn thing?"

"Are you seriously making a scene now?" He tilted his head and sounded more curious than upset.

Jenny took a deep breath. "No, Clint. I just..." she closed her eyes and exhaled. Then she looked him in the eyes. "I want you to be my client. I want you to be my only client, but I need that contract, you understand?"

Clint put his hand on hers and said, "Absolutely." Jenny looked down at the hand, but before she could pull her hand away, she saw his ring and- "Jenny, listen carefully now.  You have no doubt that I want to work with you. It was an honest mistake that I didn't pack the contract today, and you really don't mind. You completely trust me to have your contract signed and at my place. You are fine picking it up like I proposed. You will happily come to my place to pick up the contract."

"Happily..."

"After this lunch, you'll want to dress even hotter and sexier than you did yesterday, and that urge will grow stronger by the hour. Think of outfits you know that look so slutty, you would never have considered wearing. Think of an outfit of a stupid, uneducated bimbo slut that you would otherwise look down on, or even pity. You will want to look exactly like that. I'm sure you already have some images in your head right now, don't you?"

"Yeah..."

"After work, you will do everything to look like that without thinking about it. You crave to look incredibly slutty. It will make you feel so sexy and irresistible."

"I will feel so sexy and irresistible..."

"That's right. Don't think about the why and just do it. When you're done, you will come dressed like that to my place, to pick up the contract ."

"Yes... dressed like that... I will come to your place..."

"Exactly. You also don't mind my hand right now. It feels good whenever and wherever I touch you. My touch is always completely normal for you. No matter the time and the place, you're fine with it. You don't mind my touch, ever."

"I don't mind your touch ever..."

Jenny blinked and looked up at Clint. For a millisecond, she considered pulling her hand away, but this was actually quite nice.

Clint asked, "So, we agree that you come pick it up later, right?"

Jenny nodded, "Sure, I'll happily pick it up! But... I can't stay, got something else planned after that, and this time I really can't skip it."

"Okay, sure, no problem."

Jenny was relieved that she was going to get the contract later, and she also looked forward to her date with Malik.

Clint offered to walk her back to the office. At first, she told him it wasn't necessary, but he insisted, and Jenny felt oddly grateful about it. He took her hand, and they walked together for a few minutes, talking about Jenny's college times. They were back at the reception, where Beth sat behind the counter, chatting with Zoe, another colleague. They were not even trying to hide their curiosity. Jenny didn't like how Beth grinned and stared at them, just because she didn't get that Clint was joking earlier. Jenny tried to ignore her and faced her client.

"Well, thanks for walking me back. I'll see you later then, alright?"

Jenny made sure to lower her voice, but Clint replied loudly.

"Yeah, can't wait to see you tonight." He scratched his chin, his gem drawing her attention. "Now, give me a passionate goodbye kiss, honey."

Jenny was distracted by his ring for a bit, but then quickly leaned in and eagerly kissed Clint. He squeezed her asscheeks with both hands (which was completely fine, of course.) It actually felt pretty good. Then he said "Bye" and waved at Beth before turning around.

Beth and Zoe stared at Jenny with their jaws dropped. The brunette walked up to the receptionist and said, "I just wanted to clarify again that Clint is not my boyfriend. He was just joking earlier."

Beth's stupid grin got even wider. "So, he's just your boy toy, then?"

Jenny was offended. "Excuse me? He is my client and nothing more!"

Beth scoffed. "Dude, you literally just made out with the guy and let him grope you right in front of us. Like... why are you even trying?"

Jenny huffed and said, "How I interact with my clients is none of your concern, Beth. I just don't want you walking around, spreading rumors that aren't true."

Beth raised an eyebrow, "So, you're telling us nothing is going on between you and him, is that it?"

Jenny hesitated for a second, remembering last night. She felt her face getting red. She had paused too long already. Fuck! She still said "That's right!" and stormed back into her office.

She thought she heard Zoe whisper something along the lines of "too young and ugly," but she could be wrong. Jenny knew she wasn’t ugly, especially compared to someone as basic as Beth. Someone like her couldn’t even dream of dating a handsome guy like Clint or Malik. Still, this was really irritating.

Jenny tried to calm down and spent the next two hours canceling all of her other clients. It was kind of a relief to tell all of them, geeks, to screw themselves, because she got herself a nice fat whale. She wished she already had his contract here, so she could send his CV to some companies and talk him up there, but she wasn’t allowed to do anything without his signed contract in her files.

So instead, she browsed online for outfits. She was in the mood to upgrade her wardrobe. What she wore yesterday made her feel really sexy, but that was the only nice lingerie set she owned. Today, she craved something sexier than this. Today, she wanted to see how slutty she could look if she went all in. The thought of it made her feel really excited.
