Doyenna School outcast
by DuranDuran
My life is over, Val thought, nestling her head in both her hands, looking crestfallen at the wooden floor of the convict car. Her ankles were shackled with heavy metal clasps. A bump in the road made the wagon jump in the air, Val was flung to the floor, the metal shackles pulled painfully at her legs. Ciel howled laughter from her left, clinging to the wagon wall so as to notbe thrown of the wooden bench she, and up until a moment ago, Val sat on. Anger flooded Vals face, and she lunged on Ciel, shaking the ash-blonde elf by her shoulders. "It's your fucking fault we're here with the rest of the failiures. Cheating, really, you idiot," Val yelled.
The other 8 or so prisoners all looked at her with silent scorn. Ciel continued laughing, tearing up a little, she was being shook back and fourth violently, and seeming to enjoy it immensly. "You've got to admit," She said, struggling to get the words out in her full-body cackle. 'I got you pretty good.' The blood rose to Val's head, and without thinking she began chanting quietly, casting a curse that would stitch Ciel's mouth closed. A thin hatch at the front of the cart opened, out of which appeared a hand holding a wand. A moment later Val was twiching on the floor, struck with a tasing spell. Ciel's laughter rose to a high pitch.
"You were completely out of it, and with you under my control I-We could've won," she said. You would never have won, Ciel, you were always a middling sorceress. Even if you could overcome most of the class with my help, I couldn't have saved you from Agnes or Sebastian. That is what Val wanted to say, instead she drooled helplessly on the floor. "Only you immediately got found out, and disqualified," said a red-skinned tiefling who chained at the edge of the opposite bench. Val had been disqualified along Ciel, being her slave. The rules of the game were very strict, and did not grant the weak second chances. Ciel scowled at the Tiefling man, "I wouldn't go mocking anyone if I fucked up as royally as you, Alexie. Really, you let Stella trick you, that's embarassing man." The tiefling made a crude gestureat Ciel and went back to staring at his feet. Just as the cart was slowing down Val's paralysis started to fade, and just as she was standing back up it stopped abruptly, sending her headfirst into the wagon wall. God fucking damn it. Val exhaled loudly from her nostrils, rubbing her throbbing head. The wagon door swung open, Val spun in place, looking dumbly at woman grinning down at them. The woman was a tall drow. Her skin was a soft purple, her black hair tied in a severe bun that was boxed by two sharp ears pointing backwards. She wore an official looking outfit that made her look like some military officer, it suited her very much. "Welcome loser!" She exclaimed, "and thank the Goddess for your swift arrival. You all failed your final test, and in accordance with our traditions have been stripped of all your rights." The various former-students all had grim expressions plastered to their faces. Val felt like she was missing something. She had expected to wake up at one of the labour camps after the catastrophy at school, looking behind the drow woman, she could see that wasn't te case. The wagon seemed to have stopped on a very well-maintained road, and far beyond was a sprawling forest. "You can breath easy though," The intimidating drow said, "As a favour between my school and the one you used to attened, we have been gifted with your enrollment in our prestigious institution. Specifically, we need participants in the third years final exam. It is an exam similar to yours. The girls are all iron willed and knowledable in the ways of subjegation. They are future Queens and Matriarchs. But they need..." The drow trailed off, looking for the right word, "Stepping stones. Before they can wrestle for supreme domination with each other, they need easy targets and pawns for their game. Being the lowest of the low, you hav been selected for that role." The dozen chained students all stared at the drow, uncomprehending. "Now now," she said, "All you need to do is make it through this year. If you can keep yourself free, you'll be pardoned at the end of the second semester. You'll even be able to enroll back in your old school."
"So," the drow clapped her hands and looked at each of them with a smile, "Welcome to Doyenna University!"
Oh god, Doy Uni was one of the most competitive, most elite institutes in the kingdom. Val had heard it was a schol that taught the daughters of the kingdom's elites to dominate society, they were trained in the ways of intrigue and manipulation. It was a morally depraved school that encouraged its students to use their bodies and their minds to conquer each other. Evertthing was allowed, torture, poisoning, blackmail, assult. Anyone who was brought here was sure to find themselves in the service of some crazed royal, drugged or physically trained to obey and serve her. They thought they could use the losers as cannonfodder, that we'd be there to feel the ranks and be early concquests in the game. But Val was there by mistake, she was not one of the losers. In fact she was one of the most talented students the magic school has ever seen. She excelled in all her studies, and was a powerful magicker and mentalist. She would earn her freedom and she will live like a Queen until that day. This school's competition would be sagnificantly weaker, they would never expect her. "One last thing, if you are thinking of using your magic to wreak havoc in my school, know that anyone caught using magic will face a fate much worse fate than the one you were saved from," The drow looked decidedly terrifying, fear and desire mixed inside of Val. I want her, she thought. I will find a way.
