I sat in a comfortably padded chair, observing the rest of the play party. A flogging scene at one end of the room. Some candle wax play on the other. Moans of pleasurable agony all around.
My pet knelt next to me, on the floor.
They wore a scandalous outfit, complete with cat ears and a tail. Their eyes were empty. They were expressionless, emotionless, their body in a passive slump.
“Pet,” I casually commanded. “Water.”
They slowly stood, walked to the fridge at the back of the room, and brought back a plastic bottle.
“A drink for yourself, first,” I said. They complied and handed me the bottle. I drank the rest.
“Kneel back.”
They obeyed.
I snapped my fingers close to their head, the sound ringing clear across the cacophony of the party.
Maintaining their posture, their head relaxed forward, their eyes fluttering closed.
I had been fractionating them steadily throughout the night. I lost count of how many times they had gone under. I suppose, for them, the difference between trance and wakefulness had blurred into oblivion long ago.
I rested my hand on their head, gently holding it up, brushing their cat ears. Their vacant eyes opened, but they remained in a haze.
As the other scenes continued before me, I casually snapped my fingers here and there. Before my pet knew it, the scenes were starting to wrap up. I had better call dibs on one of the aftercare rooms.
I stood up. “Stand and follow, pet. I’m going to slowly bring you up.”

We spent a long time in the aftercare room. Others came and went. My pet came to very gradually.
“Enjoy the other scenes?” I asked.
“Mmmrrrhh…” they mumbled. “Still dazed…”
A knock at the door.
“Hey, you’ve been in there for a while. Party’s wrapping up for the evening. Just a heads up.”
I had counted on – and negotiated – being tonight’s designated driver. No way my pet was driving themself home tonight.
“Alright, pet,” I said with a groan as I stood up. “Let’s get you home.”
