Prompt: "Rivalry"
Weekly competition.
The task was simple. We pick a random girl from the phonebook, turn her into a maid for a week. The hard part was enslaving her before Valerie did. Hard, but I made it, I thought, reaching for my doorknob, the cute trancee in tow. I opened the door, pulled the target inside.
And fell to my knees.
"That was quick." Valerie smiled at me. "Your skills are improving." She cradled our held hands, gently pried the girl's out. She took it for herself, led her to my bedroom. I crawled behind them.
Once we reached the bed, Valerie sat the girl down. Then, she turned her attention to me - obediently sitting at her feet, looking up at her. "Time to clean her pretty head, now. Don't worry, pet, I'll scrub yours as well. Get you nice and motivated for next week's... competition."
I woke up. It was early morning. I had plenty of time. I had called the target, she was joining me for lunch ; before tonight, I'll have her.
My phone buzzed.
It was a snap, the picture of an empty-eyed woman cleaning Valerie's kitchen. "Better luck next time :)", said the caption. Valerie was good. But next week...
Notes:
Wow. So many inspirations went into this.
The main one, I think, was Hypnotic Harlequin's The Contest. This is an excellent story, taking a very different and delightfully fun approach to "hypnosis competition" idea.
Another inspiration was from Greyscribbler's absolute monster of a novel that is Fair Share. Some subplots explored the same theme as here, and I had it in mind while writing this.
There is also, obviously, a big inspiration from Trilby Else's Falconry, and a hint of Trixie Adara's My Best Friend's Girlfriend, though these are mostly inspirations for the falconry concept itself and how to execute it.
