Easter Morning - Public Park, Anywhere in America

The first rays of the sun are still hours away. It is Easter Morning in America. It is a time of Religious Worship, Family Gatherings, and Celebrations around Eggs and Bunnies. As the cool Spring air moves across the grass a strange figure moves along the park. The shadow resembles a Rabbit, only human sized. It is quick in carrying out whatever task it seems occupied with as it bounces here and there. If one was to go and check the spots it stopped at then they would find the most beautiful eggs ever seen. The decorations are exquisite. Each one a masterpiece in Easter Egg craftsmanship. Who was the figure leaving these treasures? We may never know for sure. Maybe we should hang around longer and see what occurs as the eggs are found.

Soon the first visitors of the park arrive. They are members of a local church that meets in a movie theater. This morning they brought a portable speaker and equipment to hold a Sunrise Service. There is singing and scripture as they watch the rays of the Sun break above the horizon. A sermon is given and prayers are made before the group adjourns. This morning they will not have another time of gathering at the theater so they can spend time with family. Most leave the park, others stay to pack equipment. A few just decide to spend time enjoying the gorgeous Spring Morning before heading off to other events.

More people enter the park. You would figure that children would be there, but other than the families at the Worship Service, none have entered. Those families seemed to have left very fast after the service ended. It is like a spell had been placed on the park to not have children in it this morning. That doesn’t limit the number of people young and old that have arrived. Some are set to run the trails, others to sit and enjoy the outdoors, while others just seem to have wandered in. A wide range of humanity has settled inside the park today.

Oh look….someone has found an egg……….
