Here it is folks! The long awaiting chapter 10. Sorry to keep you waiting ^^;

“Psst, hey, wake up Heather”

“Nnnh?”

“Good morning my love~♪”

“Mm.. what time is it?”

“9:25”

“…Ah.”

“I got you some clothes. Did you reorganize? I couldn’t remember where anything was.”

I shrug, surprised her brain came up with such an excuse. I thank her for the clothes, and grab onto her for support, letting her pull me up gently. Her voice is so pretty when she’s being nice.

“What time do you get off work, cam?”

“5:30, why?”

“Wanna come with, and take my car to your work? I don’t get off until 6, so you can come pick me up and we can grab takeout or something.”

“Sure.”

I won’t walk you through my whole day, you’ve seen my routine before. Nothing too out of the ordinary, honestly.

Camilla was out front when I closed shop for the evening. It was odd, getting into her car. It was clean, although the passengers seat was a tad musty. Doesn’t see much use, I suppose. Unsurprising, considering how horrendous she was.

We wind up getting chinese takeout, chatting about our days. She’s rather meek, and shy, I suppose Cammy doesn’t get to practice chatting and being kind, often enough.

Back at my apartment, I curl up next to her. Is it bad I’m starting to get attached? Sigh

I dunno, man. This whole thing happened on a whim.

I gave myself a week to let her be harmless and gay. What am I going to do when time is up? Let her loose? Put her back under my spell? It’s hard to even-

“Hey Heather?” I jump, slightly, breaking from my thoughts

“What’s up?”

“I’ve been having weird intrusive thoughts. And nightmares…”

“Wanna talk about it?”

“Yeah… I dreamed about being this awful bully. I was yelling obscenities, and acting vile… just because. I… I don’t know.”

I sigh, deeply.

“These past two days, have they been good to you, Cammy?”

“Yeah. Some of the best in recent memory. Why?”

“I need to confess something. I just… I want you to remember how happy you’ve been, okay?”

“…Sure?”

“We haven’t been dating for very long. In fact, I hadn’t seen you since highschool until you stopped by the café the other day.”

“What are you saying?”

“Those nightmares… those are who you were before I stepped in.”

“I… slipped a potion, in your latte, that day.”

“You… did?”

“Do you, um, want me to restore your memory of the whole… thing?”

“Please.”

She touches my forehead and murmurs something I can’t hear. Next thing I know, I’m slumped over in a slightly different part of the couch, and I-

Oh god. All of that…

The memories flood back to me in an instant, shocking me to my core. The person I was so content with being, just moments ago, now caught in a sea of turmoil.

I can barely make a sound

All I can manage to squeak out is a pathetic “who am i, Heather?”

A part of me wants to curl up with the pretty girl who’s been taking care of me

But another wants to call her a foul, rapey, fa- Nnhh… guess that still works.

Why is it so hard to be who I was? The confident, content woman who walked into that café.

“Why did it have to get so… complicated”

She gently rests her palm on my scalp, stroking my hair. With how conflicting these moments have been, and how horribly stressful it’s been trying to parse my very identity, physical affection is just… too much.

I collapse. Melting completely and totally. In that moment, I completely lose myself, who I was, and just become hers.

…So warm, and soft.

“…I think I still love you… H.” I whisper, dozing off into sweet unconsciousness.
